AAA Mini Line - 09/22/07 (#643)
Recapped: 09/30-10/07/07
Morales is working this show. 4 sided ring. Video package of last week's tournament matches and main event. The preview of this show gives away La Parka Jr.'s surprise appearance later.
Video Package: Air Force
Match 1: Angel Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Condor (c) vs
Aero Star, Pegasso, Rey Cometa (c)
Salamanca, Guanajuato, 08/19/2007
Winner: Tecnicos (Aero Star shooting star press Mr. Condor)
Match Time: 6:22
Notes: Total showcase for the Air Force, as it should be. Aero Star and
Rey Cometa looked better than Pegasso here. As usual, Aero Star's SSP landing
was harsh, hitting Mr. Condor with a knee.
Vignette: Jesus Z eats with the Apaches at the juice
cappuccino bar. Jesus Z takes over Gran Apache's role of pushing Alfa on Fabi
Apache (though technically he's just asking what's up with them here), and Fabi
says no as usual. Gran Apache is just amused, then tries the "Marvin needs
a dad!" bit again. Fabi totally sees what Gran Apache is trying to do here
and still won't go for it.
Match 2: Ayako Hamada, Kenzo Suzuki vs
Fabi Apache, Gran Apache vs Kaoru Ito & Mr. Niebla
Salamanca, Guanajuato, 08/19/2007
Winner: Kenzo Suzuki & Ayako Hamada
Match Time: 14:14
Notes: Not that a lot of thought went into this match (besides
"these people are available, we'll put them all in one match and set it up
at the previous taping"), but why not put an actual tecnico team in here?
Morales starts the Mexico chant to alert us to who's supposed to be tecnico
here. Oh, Copetes is ref, I'll ignore this one till
the finish. AAA remain convinced her name is Ito Kauro. Maybe they know something
I don't. It's very possible. On the upside, they spell Kenzo Suzuki right this
week, perhaps for the first time ever.
Foreign Legion + Niebla wastes no time teaming up and beating the Apaches, even having the women work over Gran Apache while Niebla and Kenzo attack Fabi. That seems a bit much. Kenzo waves around his Japanese flag and uses the pole as stabbing weapon. Apaches get beat for minutes and get nothing in. It seems to last longer than the time shown, because they just don't have any purpose. Kenzo gets a chair, and Fabi's whipped into a chair shot - Dr. Morales can't believe this. Rudos make no attempt at going for a pinfall. Apache takes a chair shot on the head from Niebla, and one from Ayako. This is where I complain about not having three falls, because at least we could break up the beatdown with a pinfall somewhere in here. Instead, we get a break where Niebla lifts Ayako on his shoulders to celebrate, and Kenzo's unable to do the same with Kaoru, who's semi amused. Apaches come up with a plan on the outside. This is seven minutes into the match, and they still haven't gotten any offense. The plan appears to be for Gran Apache to come in and get beat. Heck of a plan. Apache takes a suplex on the floor from Ayako while Fabi gets worked over more in the ring. Ayako steals a microphone and works over Gran Apache, and the announcers are upset about the waste of important electronic equipment. Fabi's slammed face first into the announce table too. Ayako stands on the table and poses. Glad they're entertaining themselves. Ayako and Kenzo hang out near the announcers for no real reason as Niebla and Kaoru work over the Apaches in the ring. Simultaneous corner whips - why? - lead to the Apaches doing dives on the Japanese. NINE MINUTES before the Apaches get their first move in. Niebla and Kaoru are slow to make the save, and Niebla slaps down Fabi immediately anyway. Kenzo and Ayako play dead near the announce desk to turn the match into a normal tag, and the Apache's quickly win that - Fabi with a German suplex on Kaoru and Gran Apache with a double underhook faceslam on Niebla. (10:16)
Apache's celebrate, and takes a Ayako plancha. Kenzo's late coming in for his bit, and then his clothesline is way off. If it was meant to be a clothesline. Who can say. Kenzo's getting worse, it's crazy. Anyway, we go right back to the beatdown, because who hasn't seen enough of the rudos offense, until Fabi sidesteps a corner charge enziguri for Ayako, dropkick to Kenzo's knees, Gran Apache with a slap to Ayako. As much as I've disliked this, the fans are going crazy at this point. I'm happy someone likes it. Fabi and Gran Apache powerbomb Ayako and cover - AND NOW COPETES DECIDES HE'LL BE A RUDO REFEREE. A whole two minutes ago, he was perfectly fine counting pins but now he's done. Screw this. Kenzo pins Gran Apache with the wacky strut kneelift of all things. How can anyone be surprised Alfa/Apache stuff didn't get over as a big draw when the people involved are treated as minor characters.
Interview: Guapito says something about something, I don't care any more. Actually, it sounds like he's announcing the split up of the group before the match where it happens. Somehow, this leads into a conversation about Cibernetico.
Interview: Jesus rides shotgun in Alan's car. I wonder if he has smokes. Anyway, Guapito is not the boss of Alan Stone, Alan Stone will tell you. The camera man must hide in the car, because we're seeing this interview from the backseat, except we get a second camera from outside the car and there's no one in the back seat. GHOST CAMERAMAN.
Match 3: Alan Stone, Scorpio Jr. (c), Super Calo, Zumbido
vs Alebrije, Extreme Tiger, Intocable (c), Super Fly
Salamanca, Guanajuato, 08/19/2007
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 12:57
Other Match Notes: And the call went out: "Who's left in the back who
we actually push?" I wish AAA could decide if there's a leading E in
Extreme Tigre or not. This week is not. Hijo de Tirantes is ref. Actually we've
got three feuds here (Alan/Intocable, Scorpio/Alebrije, Super Fly/Super Calo),
plus probably something between Extreme Tiger and Guapos in general based on
last week but it doesn't feel like it. As soon as I type that, Alan and
Intocable and Super Calo and Super Fly start shoving each other, so maybe they
care and I just don't after he last match. Intocable does a cartwheel when his
name is announced, which is hilariously.
The Stones are wearing yellow, Scorpio/Zumbido are wearing black, but they're all working fine together to beatdown the tecnicos to start. Everyone starts arguing about who gets to beat up Intocable, and that's the downfall. Tecnicos use the opening to start their comeback. The tecnico showcases go about normal. Intocable has a lot of new moves he wants to try: some go good, some go bad, some have to be clipped out. Rudos get a chair and free ran to use it, and of course that backfires when Scorpio hitting the guys he doesn't like - the guys he doesn't like on his own team. This sets up dives, and we completely miss Super Fly's. They've got to stagger those dives a little better, because you can't assume the production crew will be that fast on the ball. Everyone but Intocable (having done a plancha to Zumbido on the outside) teams up to beat Scorpio Jr. and Guapito, and that's it.
Stones immediately turn on Scorpio, stomping and punching him. Zumbido makes the save, and Guapito throws in a chair for so the Stones can be beat more. Scorpio cuts Alan open - it's pretty obvious - so he's bleeding. Zumbido may do the same to Super Calo, but we don't get a good look at it. The tecnicos have left, but Intocable returns to grab the chair and run off Zumbido and Scorpio. Intocable checks on Alan, and seems totally unconcerned about Super Calo - in fact, when Super Calo comes over, Intocable kicks him and threatens to hit him. That's strange. Intocable wanders off after Zumbido and Scorpio for a second, allowing Calo to get close enough to check on his brother, and everyone to pose for photos. Intocable carries Alan off on his shoulders to the back. HMMMM.
Interview: Arturo interviews La Parka Jr. - I thought he was supposed to be a surprise. He talks about his shoulder and the title tournament.
Match 4: Zorro vs Chessman in a in first round match in the AAA World
Heavyweight Tournament
Salamanca, Guanajuato, 08/19/2007
Winner: Chessman
Match Time: 11:00
Other Match Notes: Zorro does not have the UWA Light Heavyweight
Championship here, but it's brought up in the introductions, multiple times, as
well as the unification aspect of this tournament. You don't think Zorro didn't
bring his belt with the idea he wouldn't have to lose it that way? That would
not be unprecedented.
Tecnicos slap hands before the match starts. Crowd seems to behind Zorro, though Chessman finds people cheering for him. Lockup, test of strength. Zorro breaks free, forces Chessman to the ground, and armdrags him a couple more times. Standoff, with Chessman checking his wrist. Lockup is teased, but Chessman grabs the leg, rolls Zorro backwards, snap mare, but Zorro lands on his feet, Chessman kicks his leg out from under him anyway. Chinlock, cranking it in. Zorro slips free and turns it a double wristlock, but, Chessman starts to out power him and then yanks Zorro down by the hair. Both Pepe Casas and Zorro can't quite believe Chessman cheated like that, but Chessman reaches out his arm and Zorro slaps hands again. Lockup, Zorro headlock, Chessman tries to fight his way out of it, double wristlock, into a Zorro headlock. Chessman elbows his way and gets that double wristlock back the other way. Zorro's bent backwards, but bridges back up and gets the headlock back. Chessman shoots Zorro back, Zorro back with a big shoulderblock and Chessman is slow up. Chessman going out to take a break. Chessman back in, looking for fans to point at. Chessman teases the lockup, and they end up going shoulder to shoulder. Wristlocks on the side, and they both just start taking turns booting each other in the side. Shoulder to shoulder. Chessman bends Zorro back in to a bridge, one two no. Zorro tries bridge back up, but Chessman knocks him back down for another two count. This time Zorro is able to bridge up, and he forces Chessman down. Chessman lands on his head for a while, but gets momentarily pinned for a couple one counts before Chessman bridges up. Zorro jumps on Chessman's knees for a monkey flip, Chessman pushes him off and trips him up. Chessman off the ropes, over, and into Zorro's back elbow. Chessman out, Zorro teases a dive, and Chessman jogs around the corner to get out of the way. Chessman taking his time recovering and pointing at his fans. Chessman back in, Zorro at the opposite corner. Zorro charges, Chessman moves, Chessman wild right hand punch misses, Zorro gets him with an uppercut. Zorro's second punch is blocked, and Chessman trips him up with a kick. Chessman stops to point at the crowd. Corner whip, reversed, Zorro eats boot (after he'd already slowed down.) Zorro charges again, Chessman ducks out under the clothesline, Zorro turns and charges Chessman in the middle of the ring, powerslam one two no. Lots of Chessman chants now. Zorro's kicked down again. Chessman takes a moment to pose. Zorro's run across the ring and smashed into the turnbuckle. Zorro staggers backwards, but ducks a Chessman clothesline from behind and sends him out with a jumping heel kick. Zorro backs up and charges - tope con giro! Replays shows Chessman made a good catch. Chessman rolls back in first. Zorro on the apron, Chessman tries to shoulder him, Zorro evades, Zorro tries a guillotine legdrop him, Chessman moves out of the way and Zorro tumbles to the floor. Chessman to the apron - Asai Moonsault!
Chessman back in first again, Zorro rolls in after him. Chessman misses a clothesline, Zorro gets a waistlock, Chessman batters him loose with back elbows. Chessman is staggered. Off the ropes clothesline is caught and turned into a standing octopus, but it lasts for only a moment before they both collapse to the mat. I think Chessman broke loose, but I'm not sure. Zorro up first and cranking Chessman in the head with a kick. Sloppily cover (as they call spots?), Zorro fixes it and Pepe Casas starts counting one two no. Zorro with a chop, and he walks around looking at the crowd. Another chop. Corner whip, reversed, Zorro kips up and out, Chessman charges out after him, and Zorro throws him with an overhead belly suplex. One two NO. Zorro does the thumb across his throat. He goes out to the apron, and waits. Is he going up? He's going up after a delay. Zorro with a flying nothing meets a Chessman spear. Chessman falls on top one two three. Wow, I expected more near finishes.
Loud Chessman chant.
Match 5: Mesias vs La Parka Jr. in a first round match in the AAA World
Heavyweight Tournament and for the GPCW Monster Super-X Title
Salamanca, Guanajuato, 08/19/2007
Winner: Mesias
Match Time: 12:48
Other Match Notes: Mesias has the IWC title. Cibernetico, coming out to
announce the surprise they gave away earlier, gets MOBBED by about twenty
people. AAA security at it's finest. Cibernetico's not so concerned about being
out of the tournament. La Parka has his belt, and security figures out they
should probably have people stopping the fans from jumping the barricade in the
aisle. Parka was not wearing his shoulder harness in the interview, but is here.
Some random person pretends to be a GPCW commissioner. Copetes is your referee,
and I'm thinking I won't bother.
Brawl early, and then Mesias goes after Parka's shoulders. He uses a cross armbreaker (which gets sold as a rest hold), a crossface (which looks bad) and a Fujiwara armbar for a second, then goes back to brawling and using chairs and such. Copetes is evil enough to kick Parka's foot off the ropes to break up a hold, but not evil enough to say Parka submitted. Parka moves out of the way out of a corner charge at about five minutes and get to have his own fun with a chair. Copetes warns Parka, but he doesn't DQ him or anyway. La Parka dominated brawl, Cibernetico sneaks in an uppercut to take control, and chokes out Parka with his shoulder harness. Cover for two. Very little garbage is being thrown in the ring, but one piece nails Mesias in the head. Parka turns it around after a sunset flip roll thru kick, but Copetes slow counts him. Garbage is starting to pick up. Copetes watches Mesias load up his fist something - I mean, Mesias hides it from the camera, but Copetes leans over to check what he's doing, sees it, and gives him an okay - and Mesias sprays something in Parak's eyes. Parka gests stomped out of the ring, and Mesias just lets him walk back in. Parka makes another comeback, leading to a clothesline where Mesias can't go over the top rope on his first try. They screw around more, Cuervo walks out, Copetes turns to him, ignoring Parka putting Mesias in abdominal stretch and Mesias apparently giving up (though he saw Cuervo too and might have figured it didn't matter.) Mesias loads up his fist again, makes rue the camera gets a good look at it, and punches Parka. Parka is staggered, Mesias gives him a STO, Copetes isn't there to count. He'd walked up the aisle to talk Cuervo back, so he rushes back in and fast counts one more time.
Mesias taunts Parka some more, as the GPCW guy starts to walk off with the belts. Security and Copetes have to explain what he's supposed to be doing here, and they get the belts to Copetes, and he gets them to Mesias. Mesias gets the belts just in time to hit the catchphrase.
Match 6: Cuervo, Ozz vs Charly Manson, Cibernetico
Salamanca, Guanajuato, 08/19/2007
Winner: Hell Brothers
Match Time: 5:51
Other Match Notes: Hijo de Tirantes is referee. Sect jumps Hell Brothers
after introductions, though Cibernetico seems surprised he's got to sell
something here. Even though I still wonder if it'd get over, this would be a
fine match to randomly do Hot Tag style - Cuervo and Ozz could beat down Charly,
and Cibernetico gets the hot tag offense. It's a normal beatdown instead. Ozz's
tornillo on Charly gets Cuervo, and the tecnicos make the comeback at 3:45. Sect
takes lots of spears and a Charly Manson top rope splash (though he may have
been going for a headbutt again.) Oh, he got it on the second guy. Cibernetico
gives Ozz the stunner, and then starts to look for the run in before Mesias
even walks out! Cibernetico's got this routine down. Chokeslam for Ozz, one two
three.
Mesias rushes the ring, only pausing to dismiss Charly with a shove. Cibernetico get the edge, so Escoria and Espiritu run out - and then back. They probably should've brought in the table to begin with. Hey, where's Chessman and Zorro? Table leaned in the corner, but Charly tries to make the 1 on 5 save. This goes well for a bit, and theN Mesias spears him into the table. Hey, it broke right! YAY AAA. Hell Brothers are stomped down. Finally, Chessman clears the ring, swinging a chair wildly. Usual guys talk, pose to end the show.
That's it.
