AAA Mini Line - 06/30/07 (#631)
Recapped: 07/04-05/07
Show Name: Encuentro de Naciones.
4 sided ring. No Morales.
Intro: Look, it's boots. I have no idea why we're looking at everyone's boots.
Interview: Air Force is playing on trampolines. I guess you gotta embrace who you are.
Match 1: Payaso Carrona (c), Payaso Miedo, Payaso
Terror vs Aero Star, Laredo Kid (c), Pegasso
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 05/30/07
Winner: Payasos
Match Time: 10:08
Notes: Piero is the ref. Air Forced look good here. Aero Star was better
than his previous appearances, and the Clowns worked well with their spots. Aero
and Laredo missed pescados to the floors to start comebacks. Aero ended the dive
train with a big SSP onto the pile. Laredo had the win off a corkscrew 450
splash, but Terror pulled out Piero. Miedo gave him a Samoan drop, Carrona hit a
quebrada, and that's was it.
Vignette: Billy Boy's doctor pronounces him healthy. He's over his depression! He's cleared to wrestle. Will he wrestle? Billy thanks the doctor for the help, and the meds, and says of course he'll wrestle, he's got rivalries to finish.
Match 2: Fabi Apache, Gran Apache (c), Mini Chessman,
Polvo de Estrellas vs Billy Boy (c), Octagoncito, Sexi Star, Pimpinela Escarlata
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 05/30/07
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 12:10
Notes: Billy's looking happier, but he's still got the goatee going.
Pepe Casas is the ref. Pimpi molests Apache when he goes to pose for being
captain, and they can't get him off. Perhaps in revenge, Apache starts the match
by running cross ring, and slapping Sexi Star right in the face. Maybe it didn't
hurt at all, but that was brutal. Billy is able to rally by avoiding dropkick
and hitting his own, but the ring gets cleared down to the Exoticos. Polvo
appears to be moving up in weight classes. Pimpi hits a missile dropkick to end
their exchange, and we got to the minis from there. Crowd seems to cheer Fabi
over Sexi Star when they set up to fight - so Gran Apache goes in instead. Now
the crowd's chanting for Sexi Star for sure. Sexi runs thru both Apaches,
leading to Billy Boy vs Gran Apache. Fabi would like to start instead, but Gran
Apache and Billy Boy get into a chest slapping fight first. Fabi Apache shoves
Billy down, and Gran Apache leaves them to fight, which Billy isn't down with.
Fabi Apache tries to chest Billy Boy, but Billy is so tough, the chops hurt
Fabi's hand more. She smartens up and slaps him in the face. Fabi clothesline
misses, and Billy kicks her in the behind, which the crowd approves off. Billy
goes for the big kiss, but Gran Apache breaks it up - only to accidentally kick
his daughter for like the third time in this match already. Billy armdrags both,
ducks a Gran Apache slap (make that 4), gets Gran Apache with another armdrags,
and sends him out with a fireman's carry headscissors. TOPE! Lots of speed on
that one.
Billy back in, and Fabi tries to make peace with a hug - oh, no, she's faking him to set up for a Polvo attack from behind. Beatdown on Billy Boy, and the rest of the tecnicos. Usual stuff. Billy turns it around on corner charges, stepping out of the way tossed Mini Chessman that would've been way to high anyway. Turnaround is pretty hectic, with Billy giving Fabi a backbreaker, Octagoncito hitting a springboard headscissors, and Pimpi posting Gran Apache before giving him a kiss. Sexi Star holds Fabi for Billy, and Billy - well, after thinking it over with the fans for a minute, probably spanks Fabi, but we're not allowed to see it. It briefly settles down before getting into dives. Octagoncito lands Asai tornillo, Pimpi does a slingshot tope con giro and Billy Boy and Gran Apache are left in the ring. Gran Apache gets in his big slap and the double underhook powerbomb, but Billy turns the crucifix powerbomb into a 'rana, and wins the match. Crowd goes crazy.
Billy promises revenge on Gran Apache for stealing his wife and son, and walks off. Which unfortunately leaves an opening for the rudos to punk out the other 3 tecnicos. Billy returns for the save.
Noti AAA
- people are still going to the US
- La Parka Jr.'s car still looked bad.
- News on TripleMania coming soon. Oh, I bet we're not supposed to be seeing Rey
Jr. here.
- Billy walked past Apache's crew backstage. They made fun of him. He did not
try a 1 on 4 attack.
Interview: Extreme Tiger. Isn't extreme lucha great? No.
Match 3: Alan, Decnnis, Fuerza Guerrera (c), Super Calo
vs Crazy Boy, Extreme Tiger, Joe Lider, Juventued Guerrera (c)
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 05/30/07
Winner: Tecnicos (Juvi pin Fuerza)
Match Time: 18:09
Other Match Notes: So this week, Extreme Tiger has a Mexican Powers
jersey - with red tape over (Psicosis?) name. That could not possibly be more
AAA. Showing some sense, he takes it off as soon as possible. Hijo de Tirantes
is ref. Juvi lamely tries to jump his dad to start the match, but Fuerza easily
moves of the way. They brawl and roll around on the mat, which the other two
sides trying to break it up. Why? This is fighting, you're supposed to fight.
And then everyone stands around and discusses with the teammates for a
while.
Super Calo and Joe Lider have start and stop mat wrestling, broken up by the rudos whenever Lider gets something. After a minute of half to his, the rudos skip the pretense and just beatdown the tecnicos. Fuerza gets in his foul punt, so Hijo de Tirantes gets to Not DQ someone. There's nothing that man likes to do more than Not DQ someone. Beatdown features a lot of Fuerza standing back and letting the other three do combo spots. He only really gets in involved on Juvi. On his second pass thru, Juvi tosses Calo away as he charges, Calo lands on the top rope, Lider crotches him, Juvi pulls him in the tree of woe, and moves out of the ay as Fuerza dropkicks his partner. Chaos from there. Extreme Tiger lands a quebrada which is pretty much ignored in the midst of it. Juvi sends Fuerza out after two backbreakers, and follows with a pescado. Lider gives Calo a curbstomp, but no one knows what to make of it - certainly not the director, who doesn't really react. Decnnis gives Lider a bodyscissors powerbomb, but all three tecnicos break up the pin. They work over Decnnis with corner charges, culminating with Decnnis being whipped into an Extreme Tiger jumping spinning kick. (Naturally, Extreme Tiger's kick misses, going over Decnnis as shown by the camera work.) Decnnis is sent out with a flying axhandle, and Fuerza slows it down into a battle one on one with his son. Juvi's at least learned to stop shaking Fuerza's hand, but he still gets beat up a lot. Juvi sends Fuerza out with the sunset flip roll thru dropkick, but Fuerza trips him up when he's going for an apron dive, and hits an apron senton of his own. Crazy Boy gets to do wacky moves on all the non-Fuerza rudos, and then Extreme Tiger gets the same. Tiger doesn't seem that over with the crowd here. Maybe it's the crowd - wasn't this supposed to be quiet? Calo and Lider again, Calo taking a half nelson backbreaker. Alan takes over, and Lider does a wacky piledriver variant, again no reaction. Alan gets more when he runs in and just slaps Lider a lot. Lider gets a near fall on Decnnis with a Buca Storm, but Fuerza breaks that up. Juvi dropkicks him, slams him and gives him a small package for two. Juvi's submission attempt gets broken up, and I hope it means we're starting to speed this up towards the finish. No, another Extreme Tiger showcase, this time with a clipped out blown spot, and a dropkick spot that couldn't have have been more pointless. Tigre starts off the dive sequence with a corkscrew Asai Moonsault. Decnnis adds a sorta-tornillo, Crazy with a springboard twisting tope con giro, Calo head s up - Calo never actually gets to do it, does he? Joe Lider cuts him off for the superplex off the top rope to the floor. I think I must've watched this on Saturday and forget, or they've done these spots before, because I'm getting a deja vu feeling.
Anyway, it's down to Juvi and Fuerza. Like last week, Juvi gets the Juvi Driver and goes up. There's no Piero to trip him, but Juvi still misses the 450 when Fuerza moves out of the way. Juvi tries to land on his feet, but the knees ain't what they used to be. Fuerza grabs a waistlock, Juvi turns it into a bodyscissors cradle, that's 3. That was a pretty snappy count by Hijo de Tirantes. Crazy Boy has brought in some random Crazy Boy masked kids for no apparent reason.
Interview: Kenzo, in English. Kinda. "Yea, we have a plan for you guys. Big BIG surprise."
Match 4: Head Hunter I, Kenzo Suzuki (c), Psicosis II
vs Alebrije (c), Elegido, Super Porky
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 05/30/07
Winner: Rudos (Psicosis pin Alebrije)
Match Time: 13:35
Other Match Notes: Head Hunter I is listed with the I for once. Psicosis
is listed as a member of the Legion here. He's still got his MexiPowers colored
gear and mask. Konnan walks out after the rudos are introduced. He seems to be
in a happy mood - the crowd pops for him, that always helps. Konnan doesn't
actually say anything. He's just there. Piero's the ref, I can safely ignore
this. We go to break with the rudos are jumping the tecnicos, and in between
announcing the captains. I don't think we actually hear Super Porky announced as
captain, but that's the safe bet.
I think Konnan is really going to miss the crutch when he's healthy. Hmm, let me think about that again, I think there may be a flaw in my logic. Things to think about instead of this match, I assume. It's not horrible, it's just the usual Legion match plus the usual upper mid AAA tecnicos match. It could not matter in the least, and it has no chance of being interesting. Otherwise, everything I want for a 15 minute match. They have Porky work with Psicosis, not the fat on fat matchup with Head Hunter. Psicosis does a better job bumping for Porky stuff, I'd guess. We can't see Elegido hipswivel in Psicosis' face, and I'm okay with that. Kenzo's wacky knee drop misses, because he tries it too late. Cuije spots, check. Head Hunter ends up flattening him with a splash, and everyone acts as if the mini might have bought it this time. He's stretched to the back. Head Hunter corner splashes Alebrije, but Porky can't be knocked down, and he slams Head Hunter. Head Hunter rolls out, and Porky comes after him with a apron plancha. Kenzo hits a slightly less wacky knee drop, and then a slightly more-brainbuster-y suplex. One, two, and we cut to the mini being carried out. No idea if Elegido broke it up - he's back in the ring when we return, knocking Kenzo out of it with a dropkick and following with a Pescado. Well, Psicosis is still beating up Alebrije, that's a clue. F5, top rope senton one to three. I guess Alebrije was the captain?
I guess the big surprise was Psicosis winning.
Match 5: Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz, Mesias (c) vs Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico (c), Zorro
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 05/30/07
Winner: Tecnicos (Cibernetico ckokeslam Escoria)
Match Time: 15:27
Other Match Notes: Entrances are almost totally cut out. Seemed like we
joined in progress from what was aired more so in the normal broadcast. Hijo de
Tirantes is the ref. Oh, Pepe Casas is there too. Charly Manson is not wearing
his mask. THAT was an angle that went nowhere.
Surprising no one at all, this an 8 man brawl to start. Hey, 8.9, Konnan's out at ringside. Rudos of course take controls. Chair shots for everyone. We've got way too much time left in this show. I think there's another commercial around here somewhere. Your normal Sect beatdown. Mesias gets thrown the crutch. The referees get away from them, and Hijo de Tirantes gives him a Not DQ. Cibernetico turns a corner whip into a double clothesline about 6 into the match. Things settle down with the rudos regrouping on the outside - this is the time for the break, my WWE instincts tell me. Instead, things just pick up with Cibernetico getting attacked by all three Dark Family members, only to make his own comeback. Charly gets his turn next. Hijo de Tirantes gives Konnan a Not Ejection during this. Chessman's turn next, and the Sect gets nothing - Mesias jumps out rather than face him. Zorro gets his turn, with Mesias winning the slap fight, but Zorro triumphant when the number are against him. Zorro moves out of the way of an Ozz charge, and Ozz ends up tornillo-ing his own Captain. Zorro follows out with a tope con giro. Chessman sets up for his own dive, Cuervo cuts him off, Chessman backdrops him to the apron and keeps him there with punches. Kenzo Suzuki is out. So is Head Hunter I, just in time to see Chessman spear Cuervo thru the ropes. They both end up colliding with Head Hunter on the way to the floor. Charly gets Kenzo it with a tope. Cibernetico beats up Scoria with chops and punches. Mesias tires to sneak up on him, but Mesias cuts him off with a goozle. Scoria tries to sneak in a dropkick, but Mesias gets it, and Cibernetico gets Scoria with a chokeslam, one two three.
Mesias spears Cibernetico as he gets his arm raised, and then ducks out before the Hell Brothers can get him. Finally, here's that last break.
Cibernetico talks about Mesias and Konnan. I think the idea is the Hell Brothers are better. So then his music plays, and it's over. That was nothing. I mean, I already figured Cibernetico didn't like those guys, but thanks for reminding me.
Replays, and then usual big video package to end it.
