Match 1: Amapola (c), Medusa, Princesa Sujei vs Dark Angel, Diana la Cazadora (c), Lady Apache
Arena Coliseo, 06/03/07
Winner: Tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 13:03
Approx Rating: Below standards.
Other Match Notes: Lady Apache has her belt. Dark Angel looks, uh,
completely unfair. Diana has painted her upper torso, including head, gold and
dyed her hair blond. There's a context in which this makes complete sense, I'm
sure. It's just I have no idea what context it possibly could be. Dark Angel
does the pre-match promo. Medusa has new gear. Sujei does the promo for her
side.
1: Diana's the captain? Huh. We join in mid Angle/Sujei mat wrestling. They work well together, imagine that. Dark Angel ends up sending her out with a dropkick and posing. Medusa and Lady Apache. Surprisingly, they work well together too. Lady Apache works off a corner headstand off a backdrop, flips to the apron when Medusa charges her, and flips over Medusa when coming back in. Stunner and dropkick sends Medusa out, and Apache follows with an apron tope con giro. Diana and Amapola, and Amapola wastes no time in beating her up. Corner whip is reversed, but Amapola still gets a boot up and clotheslines her down. Amapola makes sure to mock the tecnico fans. Diana fights her off after another corner charge, and lands a missile dropkick. Twisting headscissors, hamstring kick misses but Amapola flies out anyway. Medusa comes in and knocks down Diana with a boot. Diana rallies back, with a run up the corner armdrag which doesn't come together quite right. Dark Angel fights off both Sujei and Amapola, and Apache adds a top rope plancha, but the rudos reversed charge into spinebusters and hit a double legdrop on top of them. Amapola kills Lady Apache with a double underhook faceslam and poses while covering, and Sujei gets Dark Angel with a standing bow and arrow. Quick turnaround to win the fall.
2: Ring girl has the Ramstein mask, for those playing at home. Sujei steals the ring card, of course, and the tecnico fans boo her much to her annoyance. Match picks up with a beatdown on Lady Apache. She's forced onto the middle rope for a hard running sit by Amapola. Angel in, and she takes a running corner knee from Medusa and is stopped into an Amapola missile dropkick. That'd probably look really great if they ever could get the timing right. They probably shouldn't have shown a replay of it not looking good here. Diana takes a double flapjack and many elbow drops. Medusa holds her up for dropkicks by the other two, and Diana is unable to roll out of the way. Lady Apache is set up for the running sit again, but moves at the last second, and Amapola just hits ropes. Medusa and Lady Sujei are of course looking the wrong way, and get a double bulldog. Dark Angel dropkicks Amapola while she's sitting there. Tecnicas immediately go to finishes -
3: Everyone just hangs out waiting for this fall to start. Amapola and Apache, though Sujei comes in so both can bump around for the women's champ, and Medusa. Dark Angel comes in so they can do mirror spots. Rudas regroup on the outside. Match starts to resume with Amapola and Dark Angel, but Amapola's just setting Dark Angel for a 1 on 3. Everyone's completely lost on this one - Lady Apache waits, ready to leap, on the top rope for about 10 seconds before Sujei and Medusa give up on whatever spot they were supposed to do with Dark Angel and just wander over to tae a missile dropkick. Lady Apache and Dark Angel take turns doing spots to Amapola, with Amapola reversing a sunset flip just in time to be kicked by her partner. Medusa and Sujei teaming up on Diana fails similar, as does Dark Angel and Diana teaming up on Medusa. This is not a good fall for teamwork all the sudden. Medusa and Dark Angel also seem off together - this is not a good fall. Medusa gets slid on so she's hanging off the apron, being held up by Apache, and Dark Angel ends up getting boosted by Sujei into a flying headbutt on her back. I don't think that's how she wanted to come down - the doctor and Apache check on her, but she waves them off, because there's more spots to do. Sujei does an apron tope con giro onto the pile. Inside the ring, Amapola starts running for a dive. Diana's supposed to cut her off, because she eventually does, but only after Amapola stops running towards the dive point and instead runs towards Diana's corner and stops right in front of her for a plancha. Just to finish it off, Diana has all sorts of trouble pinning Amapola with a 'rana, though she grabs the bottom rope for good measure.
Amapola's all "she grabbed the bottom rope, what the heck?" The ruda women lost again, what a shock.
Promo: Marco Corelone gets massaged by two valets (while speaking Spanish). Tough gig for him.
Match 2: Atlantis, Mephisto, Toscano vs Blue Panther, Marco Corelone, Negro Corelone
Arena Coliseo, 06/030/7
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 9:13
Approx Rating: Okay enough.
Other Match Notes: Negro Casas does the pre-match promo, saying his
experience will beat Toscano's muscles. Run-in by the valets. They really
should've started the show with a promo by notTarzan to explain the name change.
The ring announcer doesn't even say "Tarzan Boy", he just says he The
Man With The New Name. Did they get a cease and desist letter? They're treating
it like they're forbidden to say his old name. Naturally, Toscano does a promo
without actually saying either name, instead talking about Corelone. Tarzan -
like I'm ever going to get used to the name change - pretends to fly off to the
camera. I think all the rudos have discovered the inherent hilarity of mocking
Corelone's flapping wings bit, and that is a great thing.
1: Mephisto/Negro with the standard opening. Marco and Atlantis next. Corelone looks about eight feet tall in the ring right now. Atlantis is able to knock him down, and then waves in all his partners to stomp him while they can. There's another Ramstein mask, sitting on a chair. They give you two easy, and then you have to pay attention for a third. Corelone makes his own comeback, ending with a springboard plancha on all three rudos. That's end game, - Corelone chases Atlantis around the ring (running, but not so much that he can't flap his arms) as the others get submissions. Blue Panther does bicep poses while he has Mephisto in a submission, how odd.
2: Rudos hanging outside the ring to start the fall. Atlantis and Negro have a chop battle, which Atlantis wins by using a forearm. He celebrates, and gets kicked in the face. Atlantis ends up dropkicked out. Panther/Mephisto doesn't last long, so Toscano comes in and gets put in a submission hold quickly. Atlantis breaks that up and works him over with kick and punches. Atlantis spits at Negro while he's at it. Panther allies back with a plancha and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. When he rips at Atlantis' mask, the rudos storm the ring, and that's the beatdown. Toscano chokes Panther with camera cord while the other two suplex Corelone in the ring. Negro comes back in, and is promptly powerbombed by Mephisto. Corelone's yelling during the figure four is a bit unique - most everyone else is quiet in submission holds. I'm pretty sure Corelone give, but Tarzan lays on top of him while he's in the hold for a pin to be sure. Mephisto takes his time letting go of a toe hold on Negro.
3: Beatdown continues. Mephisto puts Negro in a Boston crab, and he sells it like he's unconscious. It's a different style. Mephisto also just kinda lets go, maybe realizing he can't get the submission if Negro is too dead to give up. Panther is worked over quick, and then Corelone is held so everyone can do the flapping wings. Mephisto does a middle rope forearm which is impressive in it's weakness. Panther is held for shots from Toscano. Triple boot on Panther to knock him out, though maybe 1.5 boots connect. Atlantis rolls out to attack Negro on the floor, and Mephisto kicks him from inside the ring. Just when I think Negro is about to reverse a whip, he falls out of the ring before they can even whip him. Corelone brought in, and of course he does reverse the whip, into a running plancha on all three rudos. Comeback is on, with Corelone stomping down Atlantis and Negro posting Mephisto's leg and then his head. Negro gets in the corner dropkick to the face on Toscano. Panther sets up Mephisto so Negro can get it on him as well. Atlantis is no where to be seen. Toscano and Mephisto are whipped into each, other, lifted up, and held for Corelone's high dropkick. Atlantis back in, and he gets the Corelone springboard clothesline for the pin.
A fan has the Ramstein mask as they go to the crowd before replays. So that's three. Announcers seem to have been talking about the Tarzan Boy -> Toscano thing, for what it's worth. I still think Toscano should've.
Post match promo with Blue Panther.
That's it.
