AAA Mini Line - 05/05/07 (#623)
paintball 1: Vientos de Guerra - oh wow, the teased PAINTBALL FIGHT is actually going to air. Abismo has a strategy meeting with Niebla and Histeria bout all the people they need to take out. Lots of evil laughing. They pretend a target is Cibernetico or Psicosis. If you like the Vipers shooting guns and hollering, this is the vignette for you.
paintball 2: We're still paintballing it. Mini Chessman and Mini Abismo Negro are working out strategy on a map - looks like they're planning a pincer attack on Octagoncito. This will somehow allow them to win the tag team titles, and cause them to drive the Hell Brothers into the path of the Sect. More shooting and yelling!
Vientos de Guerrera is apparently the name of the show. Another bullring (outdoors), another loving look at a wall instead of first deck people.
Match 1: Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Histeria vs Mascarita Sagrada, Octagoncito
Plaza de Toros, Zitacuaro, Michoacan, 04/01/07
Winner: Tecnicos (Sagrada bodyscissors small package Mini Abismo
Match Time: 11:17
Notes: Isn't "Mini Histeria" redundant? Dude's short. Mini
Histeria is listed as being in the Vipers, which means he gets on TV more than
Kaoma Jr. Mini Abismo lip-syncs along to Abismo Negro's music - is that right?
That doesn't seem right. Why is Mascarita Sagrada dressing like a cowboy? Things
are going on that I don't understand, what's new. Three breaks before we get to
the first match, and then we still have time killed by intros. Quick to the
beatdown, lots of two on ones. Mini Histeria shows more emotion than Histeria
does, that's a flaw. Mini Abismo actually goes for a pin! Not that it matters.
Octagoncito reversed a whip at 4:30 and that's all it took for the comeback.
Mascarita Sagrada actually went for a pinfall during the comeback! It's almost
like they're trying to win. Mini Abismo and Mascarita actually blow a spot in
their usual exchange - I didn't know this was still possible for them, as many
time as they've done it. It seems like they go 75/25 that matchup over the other
one, and I don't get a real feel for Mini Histeria. Not that I'm going to see
again this year.
a reoccurring pattern, part 1: after the winners get there arm raised, out comes Mesias and Kenzo Suzuki to beat them up. Mesias boots Mascara Sagrada, Kenzo gives Octagoncito snake eyes in the hardest fashion, and Mascarita press slams Sagrada. Konnan is ranting, but we're not paying attention to him at first. He's ticked about Nicho's firing, apparently. Should we make something out of Mini Abismo and Mini Histeria standing with him? Konnan's got some nice wheelchair gloves. Crowd chants for Ciber.
interview: Gran Apache is in a jolly mood. He's got his daughter, he's got his grandson, and he's got them both away from Billy. Billy and Sexi have NO SHOT at beating them, and I think he's right. Jesus Z points out Cinthia and Oriental are champs, and so theoretically good, and Apache actually gives them credit, but reminds us how Billy Boy sucks. Gran Apache can't stop laughing - that might hurt his chances.
Match 2: Billy Boy, Sexy Star vs
Fabi Apache, Gran Apache vs Cinthia Moreno, Oriental
Plaza de Toros, Zitacuaro, Michoacan, 04/01/07
Winner: Apaches
Match Time: 12:59
Notes: Oriental and Cinthia Moreno have their tag belts, and a
discussion about how much time Oriental takes to pose. Maybe that's just me.
Billy Boy looks depressed. Imagine that. Gran Apache is still laughing. Why does
he enter before Sexi Star? We get a backstage interview with Fabi Apache before
she goes out. Of course, Sexi Star walks by to enter, and they get into an
argument and a shoving match. They end up brawling to the ring, Fabi getting
most of the shots in. Apache of course helps his daughter, and slams Sexi Star
on the stage. Beatdown. Billy - sits in the ring, sadly. It's kinda amazing
Billy Boy gets out of bed at all. Sexi is absolutely mugged in the aisle and no
one's making the save. Billy's being Billy, and Oriental and Cinthia would like
it to stop just so they can get the match going.
While Piero and the Morenos kill time in the ring, Billy Boy actually goes to the fight. He only tries to help Sexi Star up, but that's enough for Gran Apache to start beating him instead. The whistle rings, but the Apaches continue beating up Sexi Star on the outside. Piero pleads for them to get in the ring, no. Billy tries to block the Apaches off from Sexi Star, nope. Gran Apache holds Billy for Fabi to hit, and Fabi has no problem hitting him. FINALLY, the Morenos try to break it up, and so the Apaches start beating them. Octagon gets crotched on the post, Cinthia gets thrown into the rail. This allows Billy and Sexi to get a few steps away - but Billy Boy gets attacked and thrown in the ring. About time! Billy ducks a Apache clothesline, but opts not to do anything to Fabi, just stopping in front of her. He does move out of the way of a Gran dropkick, which knocks Fabi out of the ring. Billy decides to dropkick Gran while he's there, but he's too sad to dive, so he just sits in the middle of the ring (and weaves Gran back in.) Billy tells Gran Apache to hit him, and Gran's all too happy. Sexi Star watches from outside the ring, and comes into check on Billy after he takes a dropkick. Sexi rolls Billy out to take her place against Gran Apache - bodyscissors, armdrags. 'rana, shoved off, Sexi lands on her feet and poses. Tilt-a-whirl, Sexi escape and puts on an octopus. Why am I doing all this typing? Fabi breaks that up, and Gran yanks Sexi out before she can do much with Fabi. Big slap to Fabi on the outside. Billy Boy in for his side, but he's not going to hit Fabi. Billy allows himself to be held by Fabi, but sidesteps Gran's chop, and Fabi gets hit again. Billy does something (not good) to knocks Gran out of the ring, and looks at Fabi, on her knees. Billy helps Fabi up, Fabi tells her to get away, and Billy bends over for Fabi to finish him. Fabi gives him a double underhook faceslam, and Fabi's thrilled about how easy that is. She's not at all reluctant to kill Billy.
Sexi Star yells (and kicks) at Billy when Billy doesn't let her run back in. Who did she think she had as a partner here? Match grinds to a halt for a bit till Billy Boy leaves. Apaches work as rudos. Lots of long looks at the full moon. Oriental gets Gran with a tope. Cinthia sends Fabi out with a headscissors, and has a sequence with Fabi that leads to the Farmer's Roll. That's her move! Fabi breaks up the cover at two. Fabi's getting booed this time. Cinthia slips out of an Atlántida for two. Cinthia gets a Tapatia on, Gran slips in between to cover Cinthia, but Oriental breaks it up. Oriental gets a handstand backslide on Fabi for two, and flattens her with a missile dropkick. Gran Apache comes in, watches the count for for one and two, and blocks it form being three. Oriental throws him back out, and gets a gory stretch on Fabi. Fabi escapes into a cradle for two. Oriental kicks her out, and Cinthia dives on Fabi with a silla. Gran and Oriental reverse sunset flips, with Oriental ending up on top but complaining about the count. Bodyscissors roll up reversals, but still two counts. Gran swats Oriental with his slap and gets the double underhook faceslam. Going up - Apache senton connects, one two three. Clean win!
a reoccurring pattern, part 2: Oriental and Cinthia are gone, but we've got El Mesias, Kenzo, and the Dark Family to beat up the Apaches. Gran Apache gets his slap in, but that's the end for him. Fabi tries a 'rana on Kenzo, which, uh, no. Crowd chants for Ciber again. Konnan promises to keep doing this till he talks to an AAA representative.
paintball, part 3: The Sect are thinking about killing all - well, till Scoria is distracted by valets walking by. They decide to chase after the women with guns.
Match 3: Cuervo, Escoria, Espiritu, Ozz vs Laredo Kid, Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Super Fly
Plaza de Toros, Zitacuaro, Michoacan, 04/01/07
Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 11:51
Other Match Notes: Ozz gives us an up close look at his tag team title.
Ref is Tirantes. Beatdown to start. Super Fly does a full flip on a backdrop to
the floor, that's crazy. They don't make anything of it, which is a shame.
Pegasso starts the comeback at 4:00 by randomly reversing a double suplex into a
double DDT or something. Tecnico showcases got Cometa/Espiritu, Super
Fly/Escoria (Super Fly looks real good), Laredo/Escoria (Laredo looked ordinarily)
and Pegasso/Ozz. Headlock chain - you really shouldn't be doing that two weeks
in a row, but they do they beak up differently, with everyone taking turns dropkicking
each other. Laredo does a double jump springboard moonsault. Pegasso does a no
hands corkscrew moonsault, I think. Super Fly does a tope con giro. Cometa does
a slight slingshot tornillo. Laredo Kid and Ozz back in, with Ozz dropping
Laredo Kid but missing a moonsault. Laredo Kid hits a springboard elbow , but
doesn't even consider a pin. Ozz forearms to stop the next pin, and does a
Canadian Destroyer, which gets no pop but is the finish. They do sell it big,
with Laredo Kid not getting up and needing a stretcher.
a reoccurring pattern, part 3: El Mesias is out. No Kenzo - is he on coffee break? They celebrate and then beat Laredo Kid out of his stretcher, knocking him to the floor. Air Force is laid out. They try to get the Destroyer over in replays, but it's not a move which is helped by slow motion, seeing as Ozz obviously takes the impact on his butt before Laredo Kid lands.
Noti AAA
- La Parka Jr. in the hospital. They talk about his car accident and show
his car, which is completely wrecked and caved in on one side. Parka sounds
still in shock.
- Guapocito was the big surprise last year. He looks about 50 in the face.
- Tiffany won Reina de Reinas, and reminds us she's won this four times (Jesus Z
tries to say 2.) Coincidentally, this leads to Tiffany talking about how she's
beaten Lady Apache to win Reina de Reinas before. Jesus Z tries to make the
point that this is the second time she's won a tournament, as opposed to singles
matches in previous years. Tiffany says he's splitting hairs, and she's totally
in the right.
Vignette: Konnan's still trying to recruit Zorro, though Mesias and Kenzo still aren't high on the idea and Zorro isn't high on reacting. Zorro's running out of time, we're told.
Match 4: Alan Stone, Fuerza Guerrera (c), Pirata
Morgan, Scorpio Jr. vs Elegido (c), Juventud Guerrera, Octagon, Zorro
Plaza de Toros, Zitacuaro, Michoacan, 04/01/07
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 17:03
Other Match Notes: Pirata and Fuerza are wearing Consgrados Forever
jackets. Rudos jump the tecnicos, of course. Fuerza looks to be in a biting mood
- he bites his son, he might have bit Elegido low, but I really didn't want to
take a look and find out. Lots of 4 on 2 beating, somewhat because Juvi keeps
coming in early. What do you know, they do 4 minutes of beatdown (almost to the
second) before the tecnicos comeback. Zorro sloppily puts Alan Stone on the top
rope after a charge and sends Scorpio into his crotch to get it turned. Not a
big pop as things break loose. Only about a minute of comeback before things settle
down. Well, Juvi does clothesline his dad into the front row. Octagon/Pirata,
Octagon falling for the handshake after all these years. Octagon ends up going
thru everyone, but suffering from Juvi doing reach around chop crotches. Juvi
was suffering from not being in for a minute. Zorro gets his run, but it ends up
being Pirata's run by mistake, as he canes Fuerza and Piero when trying to hit
Zorro, before getting himself. Elegido gets his run next. Juvi's in last, want
to fight Fuerza, eventually gets to fight Fuerza. Fuerza has the rudos come in
and hit him to toughen him up before he gets going. Juvi's like "Wha?"
and so are the fans, actually. Fuerza wants a handshake, and Juvi bails out on
it. Juvi ends up getting as much on Pirata as he does Fuerza. Zorro gets another
turn, but we're heading past the 15 mark and it's going to be a screw job, so I
don't care. Pirata actually goes for a pinfall, that's something. Octagon gets
in his top on Pirata, Juvi and Elegido get near falls on the Guapos, but kickout
at two. Elegido and Scorpio do a lot of standing while the other duo does spots.
They set up stereo dives, but Juvi slows to make sure he goes last. Zorro and
Fuerza left in, and Fuerza crotches Zorro as he goes up. Octagon comes in, gets
a run, and takes the Fuerza low blow knee. One two Zorro breaks it up with the
cane. Piero check on Octagon, Zorro gets in the low blow knee on Fuerza, and
that's the pin.
Zorro either gets fouled after the fact, or decides to fake one, it's not very clear. He's down selling for a while. Tecnicos celebrate for a while. No Sect?
Interview: Mesias, seeming joined in progress. It doesn't matter if you like them or hate them, they're the best. The Sect is his now, and they're taking over.
Match 5: Kenzo Suzuki, Mesias vs Charly Manson, Chessman
Plaza de Toros, Zitacuaro, Michoacan, 04/01/07
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 13:34
Other Match Notes: Whoever picked out Kenzo's music here need to try
again. J-Pop does not work! Konnan's now coming to the ring on one crutch - oh,
no, I guess he's just using it to get past the steps, and he get in a wheel
chair from there. Why does Konnan have wheelchair gloves if he's got a pusher?
Ciber enters last in street clothes, though he's not actually wrestling here.
Despite doing the "Konnan demands to speak to an AAA official" bit all
show long, we don't get the payoff bit with Ciber representing AAA. Rudos
beatdown to start! SHOCKING. Konnan can stand up enough to get in shots from his
wheel chair. I don't standing is the problem with Konnan, I think walking
distances is. Cibernetico tries to break it up when Konnan gets in shots with
his crutch form the outside, but of course Tirantes cuts him off. Pepe Casas is
your other ref. Banderas actually goes for a pinfall! The beatdown goes for 4
and a HALF minutes, so someone missed their cue. Oh, that was just a teased
comeback, interesting. Charly moves out of the way of a Kenzo charge and got a
back elbow on the neck, but got cut down with a clothesline the next time.
Charly rallies up with punches, but gets stopped by a (bad) big boot. Kenzo does
wacky posing. Konnan gets in a lot of cheap shots form the outside, dropping
back down to his wheel chair every time Tirantes looks over. Charly rallies back
with chops, on Mesias, and turns the tide with a spinning headscissors, but
Mesias cuts him off with a dropkick. Suplex for good measure. They're giving
teases to the comeback, like you might with tags, but waiting on them. Kenzo and
Chessman have a shoulderblock contest, which ends with Chessman ducking a clothesline
and kicking Kenzo down. Chessman kicks Kenzo around, and the fans don't react to
the comeback because I don't think they know if this is it. Kenzo and Chessman
clothesline each other, the other two cover, and everyone kicks out. It's
chaotic, with no real momentum. Chessman ends up being the last man standing,
DDTing Kenzo after the other two are down, but missing a corkscrew moonsault.
Kenzo decides to go up, but Chessman stops him and tries to superplex him off.
That doesn't go anywhere, and they just hand on the middle rope for a while.
Eventually, Mesias comes over and pulls Chessman off with a sunset flip bomb for
two. Charly and Mesias fight over whips, Manson finally gets a spinebuster, but
gets kicked off before he can get his submission on, and Mesias spears him. Two
count - Manson stops Tirantes' arm from hitting a third time by grabbing it.
Manson evades a corner charge and heads up, but Konnan gets him with the crutch
as the refs turned to Cibernetico. ON his own, Chessman battles back from a 1 on
2, and gets the crutch tossed to him by Cibernetico. Konan jumps on the apron to
argue, and that just allows Chessman to get in a shot on Kenzo. Charly gets in
his inverted figure four on Kenzo, and he gives!
Everyone covers Mesias, with Cibernetico joining everyone in the ring because the match is over (though it takes a few moments for the music guy to know it.) Dark Family appear out of nowhere, because they zoom in on Cibernetico rather than show us. That'll do it. Hell Brothers are beaten down by the 6-2. Zorro out, and cleaning house! Cane for Cuervo, which breaks the cane. Cane misses on Scoria, Zorro ducks a clothesline and "hits" a superkick (not even close!) and everyone else - stands and watches. I think they were awed by the whiff on that superkick. Ozz finally runs into a hiptoss to take him out, Escoria takes a cane shot. Kenzo stumbles into a cane shot. Zorro and Cibernetico stare down. What are they going to do? Look at each other, I guess. They both kinda mutually back up. Zorro does the Sting-bat point at Konnan, and rolls out. He's done here.
Replays of the match.
