CMLL FSE - 03/25/07 (#33)
Recapped: 03/26/07
As with this week's CAN52 show, the reoccurring feature is Rey Bucanero's house.
We get early interviews from Leono (and his cat eye lenses) and Mogur. Mogur does the better promo, but it's not much.
Match 1: Averno (c), Ephesto, Mephisto vs Alex Koslov, La Mascara, Volador Jr. (c)
Arena Coliseo, 03/18/07
Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:37
Approx Rating: Okay. Fun in parts.
Other Match Notes: Entrances. It sounds like Magadan is doing the
introductions instead of us hearing the ring announcer, which is odd. Volador is
wearing a Volador/Mistico/Mascara trio t-shirt. Alex does the pre-match promo -
in Spanish! Of course the great new trio gets separate entrances. They at least
do a group promo.
1: Alex and Mephisto start. Alex is very into blowing kisses. That's his go to move. For some reason, the entrance looks different this week. Something looks different, at least. Mephisto/Alex doesn't go long, and Mascara and Ephesto get more time. Volador wrestles Averno with his shirt on, and looks god, even before he does a over the top rope con giro. Other four all in, rudos boinked into each other on a bulldog try, boosted up dropkick - misses, that doesn't seem to be going well for Alex as a tecnico. Ephesto and Mephisto just stepped out of the way and immediately finish it off. I'm amused by Ephesto passing on doing a wacky move, and just going for a small package, though he can't quite get it to lay right at first. Volador returns to the ring, and has to be a little confused. It was going fine when he left.
2: Rudos must've decide to go with a beatdown during the break, because they're ripping up Volador's shirt as we return. Triple boot for him. Alex gets in, looks around a dozen times, and gets killed when he tries to make a move. Rudos make a wish with his legs and dropkick him low at the same time. La Mascara gets up on the apron way too soon, the rudos have to pretend they don't see him while they finish off Alex with a face first powerbomb. Now La Mascara gets his turn. Corner clotheslines, and a Kiss of Death. Mascara might have been hurt on that legdrop. The referee checked on him, Ephesto came over and decided to cover, the referee tried to get Ephesto so he can continue checking on Mascara, but then recalled he probably should be counting a pin here. Volador broke it up, and Mascara was rolled to the floor to grab his skull. Ephesto gets the rebound hip toss, dropping him chest first on Volador. Alex back in again, and kicking everyone. He's set up in the corner for a weird tree of woe arm pulling submission. Mil Mascara back in, and he grabs a hold of Averno without really doing anything. Meanwhile, Alex is freed, and sent out of the ring - right into the lap of a front row woman. Amazing how that worked. Back in the ring, La Mascara ducks a double clothesline, and...slides to a stop. Which is bad, because it's a couple seconds more before Volador comes in with a springboard 'rana on Averno, and the rudos have to just stand and watch. Mephisto ends up stopping Volador with a boot, only for Mascara to give him a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Ephesto is set up in the middle of the ring for a triple - well, double kick to the head. I think Alex forgot? He's standing and watching a bunch. Averno charges in the ring, Volador tilt-a-whirls him on to his feet, and Alex belts him with a (replica Shawn Michaels) superkick. Averno pops back up, because Mascara has to get in his 'rana too, everyone help cover, one two three.
3: Not only does the Alex have the "Blow A Kiss" spot down, he's got the "fake handshake->blow a kiss" spot. He's also got a good enough superkick to use right away here and not annoy me. Alex saves that for flipping for no reason. Welcome to being every tecnico ever - he even does a spinning headscissors to prove it. Not a good one - perhaps he should pass on those. Missile dropkick is better. Meanwhile, Volador is wearing Alex's hat for no reason. Girls cheer for the hat when it's thrown in for Alex. He gets the crowd clapping for the dance. This is so ridiculously great. Volador teases wearing the hat to fight, but change his mind. Volador back out of the ring, and it's La Mascara vs Averno instead. As soon as they get done taunting the crowd. Mascara moves out of the way of a corner charge, tossing Averno into the turnbuckle and then getting him with an enziguri. Before he can get anymore, Mephisto gets in a cheap kick form outside. Just as he's coming in, Mascara gets a thrust kick on him, and then it's the usual one beating two spots. nice spinning armdrags in here. Ephesto comes in just to get dropkicked out. Mascara flies out after him with a tope. He hits Ephesto, who absorbs the blow, and then turns and falls the opposite way. So weird. Koslov back in, and dropkicks Mephisto out before adding a springboard frog plancha. Volador and Averno left in. Volador tries to geo up and over but he's shoved off. On the next pass, Averno tossed Volador behind him, and nails the mule kick low blow. The referee turned away and just the right/wrong tie, and that's the match.
Vignette: Magadan asks the people who they think is going to win the hair match. Of course, Magadan happens to choose Mogur's daughters. This is what you would call a biased sample. Other people seem to be supporting Leono. And of course a kid chooses Mistico. We also get a promo from Mistico, and from both guys in the match.
Match 2: Mogur vs Leono in a hair match
Arena Coliseo, 03/18/07
Winner: Leono (2-1)
Match Time: 7:47
Approx Rating: EHHHH.
Other Match Notes: Entrances. There are seconds, but I don't get a good
look at them entering. Ref is Tiger Hispano, who is Mogur's father in law!
Someone on the commission really has it for poor Leono here.
1: Mogur takes Leono outside immediately and beats him there, much of which seems to happen before we start seeing it. Back inside. Turnbuckle smash. Powerbomb, holding for a cover, and we're getting the slow counts straight off the bat. Mogur throws Leono in a corner, and Leono unnaturally does a handstand on the middle rope. Mogur loads Leono up on his back, and gives him a walking double leg spinebuster slam. One two I don't think so. What's Mogur's move anyway? Mogur stops to shush the tecnico fans. Superplex! Tigre Hispano takes the long way to the pin, one two no. Mogur puts Leono in what seems to be a legscissors cavernaria - announcers say "El Egipcio"! and that's it.
Peluquero - the barber - does a promo, hyping up his 92nd hair cutting coming up. I think he thinks he's doing a women's match. Nahhh.
2: Mogur still in control, and Leono grabbing his head. Mogur helpfully throws him on it multiple times. Into the turnbuckle. Okay, I spot Trueno out there, so that's one corner man. Leono gets thrown around by his hair a bunch, and then booted out of the ring. Mogur walks out, and then sends Leono into the steps, right next to the doctor. The doctor is no more reactive than usual. Backslide, while, reversed, and Leono gets a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Comeback gets minimal reaction. Mogur dropkicked out, and Leono out after him with a corkscrew plancha. Fans seem to be watching but not into it much - 80% of the noise is coming from the rowdy tecnico section. Replays allow me to type all of this. Leono back inside, and charging Mogur as he comes in. Mogur tosses Leono to the apron, but Leon fights him off from there. Springboard plancha in, 'rana, holding for a pin, one two three. Polite applause.
3: While we're watching the ring card girl, Mogur's cradling Leono for a pin. Only two. Does Mogur have a corner man? He's keeping himself hidden. Leono takes off his headband, but gets thrown into the corner again. Another double leg slam, and Mogur covers slower this time, one two no, it still doesn't work. Powerbomb, one two NO. Mogur has quite limited offense - these moves didn't work the first time, and they didn't work in the same order. Is he going to do a superplex now? He's DOES! two count. Mogur's daughters watch from the front row. Mogur goes for a La Majistral, Leono shrugs him off. Dropkicks sends Mogur out, Mogur ducks down before Leono can dive, Leono leaps to the apron again - top rope Asai Moonsault! He crushed Mogur on that. Leono may have kneed him in the head on the way down. Lots of replays. Mogur doesn't have a corner person - that's kinda sad. Mogur slips in first, and tries to run Leono into the post from the apron but Mogur blocks it and Mogur eats turnbuckle. Leono up top, flying plancha connects, Leono rolls thru, Mogur charges, clothesline is caught - and turned into a Leono Crossface! Well that's something. And that's the match.
Trueno gives Leono a big hug. Crowd cheers for him winning. After replays, Mogur and Leono shake. Mogur gets to cut off the first bit of hair, and the barber starts his work. They clip ahead - we see Mogur's daughters, and one is broken up about this. Leono cuts a triumphant promo. Mogur's not really had much cut off - did something break/ Leono is yelling in his promo, which is something. Mogur's really just got the sides cut off - I think we got a picture of him bald, but I don't remember. They do get a shot of one of the girls crying about Mogur losing, so that's something.
That's it.
