AAA Mini Line - 02/03/07
Recap
: 02/08-21/07

Interview: Mini Abismo respects Mascarita, but he still is going to beat him, and still wants the belt.

Match 1: Mini Abismo Negro (c), Mini Charly Manson, Mini Chessman vs Mascarita Divina, Mascarita Sagrada 2000 (c), Octagoncito
Plaza de Toros de Chilpancingo, 12/15/06

Winner: Tecnicos (Mascarita pin Abismo)
Match Time: 11:00
Notes: Moment of tribute applause for Octagoncito's father.

Pretty good match. Abismo worked more with Octagoncito than he did with Sagrada early. Octagoncito's had better days, though there's a vicious springboard legdrop. Sagrada blows the crowd's mind by lifting up Mini Chessman on his shoulder - that's far more than his body weight. Mascarita looked real good

Vignette: Gran Apache and Marvin (grandson) go shopping at the toy store. Marvin's having fun, so why would Apache give him back?

Match 2: Alliens, Gran Apache vs el Angel, Laredo Kid in an AAA Tag Tournament match
Plaza de Toros de Chilpancingo, 12/15/06

Winner: Rudos (Gran Apache covers Laredo Kid after he misses a 450 splash
Match Time: 12:45
Other Match Notes: First five minutes were all rudos being a base for the tecnicos high flying. Laredo Kid got an armbar takedown and a fujiwara, and Alliens held out an absurdly long time before it was broken it up. Alliens and Apache have a surprising amount of tag moves (which would be any, actually.) Alliens is all about the Diamond Cutter. Lots of rudos going for pins after their double teams and the other tecnico breaking it up. Some quite unbelievable instances of people falling a long way to land in just the right place here. Some stuff is good, some stuff is - Angel takes down Alliens, heads up, lands a top rope splash, that gets 2, Angel screams and puts on an ineffective armbar. What the heck? Apache interrupts (which is why Angel put on a stalling hold, not that it worked) and they try to do the crucifix powerbomb reversed into a 'rana bit, but Angel gets stuck halfway down and Apache has to cover with a half crab. The match just kind rolls on with guys taking turns breaking up near falls - it's plus 10 minutes for the sake of being plus 10 minutes, not because they're doing anything but filling time. Laredo Kid is hit or miss - his headscissors moves are not as good as his dives. Big highlight move is Angel standing on the outside of the middle ropes, and Laredo Kid going thru his legs for a tope. Why would Laredo Kid do that? Apache is smart enough to move out of the way of the 450 splash (for multiple reasons) and I guess we're just doing one pinfall this week.

Hey, let's watch clips of the match before it happens. Great.

Match 3: May Flowers, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Pegasso, Super Fly in an AAA Tag Tournament match
Plaza de Toros de Chilpancingo, 12/15/06

Winner: Pegasso & Super Fly
Match Time: 3:56
Notes: Yea yea NO. There was a time when Pimpinela was good, right? I think I need to get tapes of that kind. Pimpi and May are best friends today, because the situation happens to call for it today. No one explains what happened or Rey Cometa.

This match is in progress when GALA comes back from break, with guys heading outside for Exotico goofiness. I'm not sure if you know this, but Exoticos can be wacky. And the other guys can do flying moves. Once Pimpi gets in the big spot (kiss for Hijo de Tirantes), he practically purposefully feeds himself into a Super Fly backslide. That's it. This had to be major clipped - why would they have such different times for these matches?

Noti AAA:
- Cibernetico saw that video of Konnan beating up Estrellita. Who was actually taking that footage, anyway?
- So, at GdT, Cibernetico beat up Konnan well and good and he's gone for a long time.
- Here's Pena singing contracts to go to the US! YOU MUST BELIEVE US, WE'RE REALLY GOING TO THE US AT SOME POINT. (Announce a date or a location already.)
- NOAH's representatives played tribute to Antonio Pena.
- Many surprised are promised for 2007 including, if you can believe it, shows in the US.
- Charly Manson ditched the Vipers. They're looking for a new member (who may be from the US!)

Promo: Crazy Boy and Juvi talk about 2006 being great for the Mexican Powers, but 2007 is just going to be better. They're looking forward to facing the guys from NOAH.

Match 4: Ishimori, Marafuji, Oriental (c) vs Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera (c)
Plaza de Toros de Chilpancingo, 12/15/06

Winner: No one/everyone (DCO)
Match Time: 12:12
Other Match Notes: Crowd has no idea who Ishimori and Marafuji are, I think. Juvi's belt falls off as he dances to the ring. He's of course out way in front while the other guys are dancing on the stage. As usual, this is supposed to be Japan vs Mexico. Why does the Spanish speaking announcer tell the Japanese wrestlers "Welcome to Mexico" in English? Everyone shakes hands.

Good match, especially with Juvi versus the NOAH guys. Juvi was predictably working at 150% tonight. They also only rarely allowed Joe Lider in, which always helped. After a couple of match moves with neither going down, Juvi and Marafuji go down after both go for cross bodies at 10:45. Dark Family runs in and attack only the Mexican Powers. Hijo de Tirantes argues with them as the other team asks the crowd what to do. Well, mostly just Oriental. Are they just leaving? Did we not get a finish here? Oh, they're coming back. YOU SURE FOOLED ME. (Dorks.) They all battle to the stage - oh, we're setting up a Crazy Boy moonsault, I guess. Hahahahahaha Hijo de Tirantes is counting them out! Run ins fine, leaving the ring, he draws the line! Get to twenty already. There we go. Lider gets in two seconds later, and they play his music anyway. Everyone decides to be friends. Thanks for wasting my time!

Match 5: Abismo Negro (c), Antifaz, Histeria vs Cuervo (c), Ozz, Scoria
Plaza de Toros de Chilpancingo, 12/15/06

Winner: Dark Family
Match Time: 15:00
Other Match Notes: Abismo's music is the only play they mention LLL nowadays. They can't redo that so he's talking about Vipers Revolution, can they? Of course they can not. Production levels must be kept at low levels at all costs. Espiritu is such a tagalong. So who am I rooting for here? THE END. At least Copetes is the ref so the evil is balanced. It'd be weird to have a tecnico one. Hey, why is Cibernetico here? His microphone doesn't work, because production values have to be kept low. Anyway, Cibernetico's point is he killed of Muerte, and he's going to do the same with the rest of them. Just not not - he leaves. I bet Abismo and Cuervo are the captains. YES. I like how Abismo's captain always, though all the Vipers are supposedly equal.

Antifaz loves the spinning DDT. Vipers worked as tecnicos in this match, at least to start. We got tilt-a-whirl backbreakers and Abismo walking up the ropes (but not really on the ropes), complete tecnico. I guess this all happens, but since the Vipers are supposed to be an evil force, I guess I expected both sides to cheat. Beatdown at 6:30, with Espiritu grabbing from outside. Ozz actually went for a pin during the beatdown, but either no one counted or they didn't feel like showing us someone going for a count. After taking two corner clotheslines, Antifaz just deiced he wasn't going to take a third one and moved out of the way. That's your comeback, at around 9. Camera man is so interested in the comeback, they shoot someone holding up Abismo's coat, which has a big picture of Pena on it. Abismo gets in all the tecnico highspots he can since he won't be able to get them in for another year. Histeria and Antifaz pretty much wrestle the same way regardless. Escoria looks good. Chair gets into play at 13:30 so Histeria and Cuervo can do spots with it, leading to Cuervo pescado-ing into the chair, and Histeria sitting him on it to knock him over with a slip n' slide tope, starting a dive train. Histeria is seated for Ozz's thru the ropes tornillo, Antifaz gets an almost no hands tope con giro, and they're down to Escoria and Abismo. Really good day for Escoria, but he still takes the Martinez Martiente Especial. (It's helpfully listed that way in a later replay to help me out.) Espiritu chairs Abismo in the head directly in front of Copetes, who doesn't even try to look another way, and drops Abismo on top. I can't believe Tirantes didn't see it too.

Both guys act dead - Vipers care more than I do. This was an above average match.

Promo: Cibernetico rides his bike. Good for him. Can you park there? He hangs out at a cafe with Jesus and explains his recent actions and plans for the future.

Match 6: Gronda II, La Parka Jr., Octagon vs Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico
Plaza de Toros de Chilpancingo, 12/15/06

Winner: Hellbrothers
Match Time: 11:42
Other Match Notes: Hell Brothers jump tecnicos, which isn't very tecnico of them. Maybe they're still getting used to this thing. Announcers still try to get fans to chant for them. Chair beatdown to start - Cibernetico smashes a chair into a chair that Chessman is holding on Gronda's back. I wish guys in the US could get away with that sort of thing. Fans do seem to be behind Hellbrothers somewhat. Comeback at 1:30 when La Parka Jr. reveres a whip and Cibernetico accidentally chairshots Chessman. Hell Brothers beg off like rudos. Fans cheer louder for the normal tecnicos. Usual match between these guys at this point, with rudos getting more support than usual. Octagon has quite a gut today. It's not Mascara Sagrada level, but he's round. Oh god, Cibernetico vs Gronda. Thankfully, they don't try more than shoulderblocks.

Hellbrothers isolate La Parka Jr. in the ring around 11:00, with Cibernetico clipping on his leg with a chair and Charly Manson putting on an reverse figure four. Chessman adds a camel clutch and Cibernetico kicks La Parka's face - and the Dark Family makes the save for La Parka! Well, technically, they're just stomping down the Hell Brothers, but let's be creative. I think some fans might have been happy to see them. Hijo de Tirantes decides this time, interference is a DQ. Tecnicos walk off while the Hellbrothers get stomped into the mat. It just occurred to me that Escoria is not out there. Back at the entrance, AAA president Joaquin Roadin insists that the tecnicos go help - Octagon and Gronda do, but La Parka Jr. can remember back two minutes when they were trying to break his knee and is not down with this. I'm with him. Anyway, with just those 2, that's plenty to turn the tide, but Parka and Roadin still argue. Now Hijo de Tirantes is giving La Parka Jr. the business! What right does he have?

Cibernetico get the microphone, and instigates between Parka and AAA. Hmmm. Octagon tries to make peace, but La Parka Jr. isn't happy with him either. Parka get to angrily yell about how he's really AAA.

That's it. Total ring time: 68:16 total, 22:45 per hour
