Superluchas reports Adolfo Moreno, former wrestler, promoter, and head of IWRG, has passed away. Superluchas has a detailed obit.
Moreno had promoted wrestling in Naucalpan since 1962 (and before elsewhere.) IWRG itself was formed in 1996 as a title belt organization, but Moreno was running in Arena Naucalpan since it was built 1977, and ran before that in the previous building on that ground.
IWRG has been run by Moreno’s sons in recent years. He’d been sick for many weeks.
The Mistico to WWE rumor was kicked up again in today’s Diario Record (via Clark_El @ Satanico’s Mansion). I haven’t previously read there’s anything new going on there.
Arturo Rivera mentioned in today’s column the Chilpancingo will air in Mexico on 01/20, following two Best Ofs. That’s one more filler episode than I had figured, so the future lineup looks like
