CMLL (SUN) 12/02 Arena Mexico [ovaciones]
1) Calígula, Hooligan, Méssala b Sensei, Sombra de Plata, Trueno
2) Shigeo Okumura, Skandalo, Virus b Metálico, Stuka Jr., Tigre Blanco
3) Amapola b Marcela [CMLL WOMEN]
4) Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso II b Felino, Sagrado, Volador Jr.
5) Leono b Mr. México [hair]
6) Místico, Rey Bucanero, Shocker b Black Warrior, Lizmark Jr., Olímpico
That’s Leono’s fourth hair match win of the year! No one cares. To be fair, no one cared about Amapola’s title defense or the preview of the End Of Year main event; under 2,000 turned out for this show. When they announced the double hair match, I thought it would draw a decent crowd for the match but was worried about the crowd they’d get for the lead up. That seems to be happening.
Lizmark Jr. is officially taking Toscano’s place in the Sin Limite main event. Toscano is listed as out due to injury, though there’s a report linked later mentioning ex-Tarzan Boy wrestling in Guadalajara just yesterday. There’s a few other subs:
CMLL (FRI) 12/07 Arena Mexico
1) Amapola, Hiroka, Medussa vs Dark Angel, Luna Magica, Marcela
2) Felino, Super Nova, Valiente vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Virus
3) Dos Caras Jr., La Sombra, Sagrado vs Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Terrible
4) Atlantis, Averno, Último Guerrero vs Blue Panther, Místico, Negro Casas
5) el Hijo del Perro Aguayo vs LA Park
6) Rey Bucanero & Shocker vs Black Warrior & Lizmark Jr. [hair]
Hiroka replaces Mima, Luna replaces Sahori, Mephisto replaces Misterioso II, Sagrado replaces Volador Jr. Those all can’t be injuries.
El Hijo del Santo made the rounds for interviews with the lucha magazines this week, as last second hype for Todos X Todos. Things are obviously still in flux with the show; in the Super Luchas interview, Santo talks about possibly getting the show on CAN52 or Fox Sports or other networks. It’s since come out that the show will be on Televisa, the one network specifically not mentioned. Things change.
Santo doesn’t want us to take the shifting names in the mask tournament as a bad sign; he says he had 20 men ready to go for the match, plenty of backups he was happy with if others couldn’t participate for whatever reason. In the SuperLuchas interview, Santo reveals he wanted to get old partner Octagon on the show, but AAA refused to allow him to work the show. Of the people who’ve pulled out, the only two Santo’s upset with is Angel Blanco Jr. (no real reason specified, but I imagine it’s “you’re Angel Blanco Jr., you’ve got nothing better to do”) and LA Park (who was just using Santo to leverage a good deal from CMLL, Santo figures.) Santo says Dr. Wagner approached him about working the show, but when Wagner said he could only work the show if AAA guys did not, Santo figured he was still a enough of a CMLL guy that it wasn’t wroth trying.
When asked, Santo picked Fishman Jr., Lizmark, Pentagon Black and Blue Demon Jr. as possible losers.
IWRG (THU) 11/29 Arena Naucalpan [superluchas]
1) Judas el Traidor b Latin Brother
2) Trauma I & Trauma II b Gallo Tapatio Jr. & Kid Tiger
3) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Krator b Fabián el Gitano, Fantasma de la Ópera, Multifacetio
4) Bogeman & Negro Navarro DRAW Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. & Pierroth
5) Pantera, Ultraman Jr., Yamato b Damián 666, Hijo del Cien Caras, Villano III
Main event was supposed to build Negro Casas vs Villano III, the rematch, but Negro Casas wasn’t there and replaced by Yamato. Oops. Semifinal went DQ, DQ, DCO. Black Terry and Fantasma de la Opera still are feuding. Latin Brother was taken the hospital after a dive gone wrong.
IWRG (SUN) 12/02 Arena Naucalpan [ovaciones]
2) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Captian Muerte, Cyborg, Xibalva [EdM TRIOS]
3) Fantasma de la Ópera b Black Terry [IWRG IC WELTER]
Both championships are retained. They’ve got to be doing a mask/hair match soon, I hope. There’s no Thursday IWRG show this week, or they’re being very quiet about it.
CMLL (SUN) 12/02 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [MedioTempo]
4) El Gallo b Mach 1 [mask]
5) Alex Koslov, Dos Caras Sr., Rayman DQ Terrible, Texano Jr., Toscano
I don’t know why MedioTiempo has started putting up occasional Guadalajara results, but it sure is great. Gallo lost the first fall but took 2 and 3. Mach 1 is Juan Crecencio Segundo, from Toluca, 19 years a wrestler. Terrible yanked Dos’ mask in the main event.
Show was on Saturday because Monday was booked for something else. Mistico beat Averno in the main event.
DELGADO (SUN) 12/02 El Paso, TX
1) Huniko b Rey America
2) Fuego & Rey Halcon b Asertijo & Atomo (local)
3) Nacho Libre & Spiderman b Rey Guerrero & Tiger Man
4) Nascar b Galactico [DELGADO]
5) Fishman Jr., Hurricane Hector, Rey Escorpion b Baby Solis, Magno, Vaquero (El Paso)
This was Magno’s third match of the day. Santo’s in next week.
This story has the headline “Blue Demon vs Blue Demon Jr., and yet has nothing to do with the wrestlers. Vastly disappointing.
The Globe and Mail has a two part story about going to Arnea Mexico and Arena Coliseo. Vampiro makes cameo appearances, and they give away Starman’s real name. He’s a trainer at a small lucha school.
Box Y Lucha has another video interview, this with Kato Kung Lee. He’s retired from the ring due to a blood clot. There’s also an Alex Koslov interview that’s a bit hidden.
Magazines
– Box Y Luchas #2847 has bald, bloody Scorpio Jr.
– Super Luchas #241 has Averno with the belt, Cibernetico going thru a table on fire, and Mistico, Octagon and Atlantis together (at an awards show.)
