Mr. Mexico and Leono are trying to make their feud work out. It’s just that they’re Mr. Mexico and Leono, people the crowd aren’t into and they’re not good enough to change their mind. It’s almost over, thankfully.
Month: December 2007

Wagner yanked Ultimo’s mask and cradled him for the win, turning the tables from Friday and leading into this Friday’s match.
After his straight falls win, Pierroth announced he will retire on July 9th.

This Sunday show and the Tuesday following are back in Arena Coliseo. I believe they all go back to Arena Mexico for a while longer after that.
Accion had
CMLL: Shocker vs Hector Garza
AAA: Guapos vs Stones cage match.
It was Accion’s 1500 episode, so they were also airing classic highlights. We saw the Infernales (MS-1, Pirata, Satanico) win a match in Arena Mexico on July 18, 1989.
DeporTV was doing a Top 10 Moves Of The Year – but it really was just ten highspots from a couple shows in October. Most, though not all, was from the 10/02 Rey de Aires. La Mistica was #2, Valiente’s dive was #1.
CMLL FSE #68
Leono must’ve been out of it in the third fall, because he was completely off for a whole sequence. Fabian really didn’t have that excuse.
The screwups kept going to the second matches first finish. I was sure it was Ephesto’s fault, but what do I know.
AAA #656
(edit: fixed link)
AAA #656, taped 11/22/07, aired in US 12/22
I would like so many explanations about this show.
– there’s no way that opener was ever supposed to make air, right?
– why was it three falls? (because it was never supposed to make air?)
– did X-Fly just wrestle in his street clothes?
– since when are the Pirates are faces?
– did Pepe Casas forget the DQ rule?
– how could they main guys (on short notice?), but almost no midcarders?
– why did Piero have to slow count his own man?
– who decided Mesias should be La Parka’s partner? why?
– had they already given up on Zorro by this point?

Garza’s knee injury was bugging him thru the main event. Shocker took falls two and three. They’re teasing a hair/hair match. They’re always teasing something.
UG took off his mask and threw it to Wagner to end the semifinal. Wagner demanded a singles match for next week.
Mascara got stretchered out after taking Averno’s finisher to end the tercera.
Arturo Rivera talks about spot shows in Mexicali and Tijuana this past week.

Two okay matches featuring people who aren’t going anywhere. Nothing bad, but nothing work many more words than I’ve already typed.
