11/25: Highlights

Arturo Rivera’s column has notes from the Toluca show.

Azteca America is back to forcing DeporTV to be autodeleted. Just to show how pointless that is, I grabbed the lucha highlights from the show, though I didn’t realize I didn’t get the sound till too late. Sorry about that.

It seemed to me like the finish they showed to the minis match was for one of the first two falls – neither man reacted like the title just changed hands.

Accion’s CMLL highlights were of the main event. As much Mistico/Avenro highlights as the other feuds, including the triple powerbomb to finish it. There’s not a big reaction to the outcome.

AAA’s highlights were oddly of Headhunter/Ozz/Anitfaz vs Porky/Elegido/Super Fly – this was the match where Elegido was taken out before it happened. He came out with a neck brace, and took a top rope splash from Head Hunter to cement his death. Teams are as weirder on TV than they read. Ozz’s tornillo seems to be backfiring 90% of the time, and Porky splashes Head Hunter and Antifaz for the win.

Mesais was La Parka Jr.’s surprise partner. No one seemed quite sure way – Parka didn’t turn rudo or anything, and Mesias refused to participate early on. The Hell Brothers ended u p winning when Chessman blew mist at Zorro.

No one bled during the semimain, defeating the odds. Alan pinned Scorpio and Intocable laid out Guapito. I’m starting to suspect the Guapos might not be losing the cage match after all.

Tercera teams were changed due to Cinthia’s injury, though her injury doesn’t seem to be acknowledged here. Mary and Fabi worked together till an errant kick near the end, and the rudos took advantage for the win.

Diabolicos beat the Pirate Kids, but got DQed for excessive violence.

CMLL CAN52 Guerreros del Ring #105, taped 11/16 and 11/18, aired 11/24.

Opener kept moving and was pretty fun, despite me hating on it at various points. I’m not sure the segunda could be expected to be much better. The Mexican Trios feuds should be quite fun, and I hope it eventually turns up on TV.

Main event was Marco Corelone getting a clean defeated on Perro Aguayo Jr., which I still can’t believe happened. When Mistico’s losing to Averno, it’s because they’re setting up a title match where Mistico will cleanly and totally beat Averno. When Perro Jr. loses to Marco Corelone, they keep playing up Shocker/Perro matches. That makes no sense at all.

The match was a Perros match.
