11/22: Notes

SuperLuchas says Konnna turned on Mesias Monday night at the Leon taping.

Ovaciones says AAA’s new magazine, “Dos y Tres” is selling well. Unlike the other lucha magazines, it’s monthly (and larger.) AAA’s website also has notes on the press conference for the magazine, which also featured the Guapos and the Stones teasing their hair match. The first edition of the magazine is out in this usual places, and the next one will come out in late December, with results from Guerra de Titanes (probably three weeks after the fact.) Esmas has the same story too, since Televisa is part owner of the magazine.

In his column, Arturo Rivera is critical of a local Xalapa promoter for bringing in a CMLL show on the same day as their taping, thus ensuring neither group drew anything.

CHIKARA is auctioning off ring worn Lince Dorado and Pantera masks to help defray Lince Dorado’s recent medical costs.

  1. 40 wrestlers and valets on that AAA taping. That’s one thing about AAA. “Everyone has to be on the show”.

So Robert was right again in predicting a Konnan turn.

Why would Rivera criticize CMLL for running a show in the same city as AAA? Truth is, throwing competition raises interest levels, and can increase attendance. We’ve seen that many times in the US. Sounds insecure on Rivera’s part. Does CMLL cry when AAA runs Toreo on a Sunday against Coliseo?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Thanks for the update on Turkey Day Cubs.

  2. What I read regarding the turn and I couldn’t get better clarification was that Konnan turned the Legion against Mesias but La Secta (Cuervo/Escoria/Espiritu/Ozz) are still with Mesias. Zorro is now the new leader of La Legion.

So we have HB’s/AAA vs. La Secta vs. La Legion

  3. Dr. Lucha mentioned on F4D yesterday that Mesias was probably not coming back to AAA until the spring. I guess this is how they wrote him out for now.

  4. Yeah I posted that here a while back but he isn’t leaving yet. He won’t be gone until after GdT.

  5. I saw the cover of that magazine on AAA’s website. That photo of Mesias, Zorro, and Cibernetico looks like it should be the cover for a gay magazine. I’m not bashing gays or anything but I don’t think they’re the target audience.
