11/18: Neza, highlights

CMLL (THU) 11/15 Arena Neza [heri99]
1) Angus & Hijo de Acero b Crismar & Renegado
2) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II b Pólvora & Vaquero
3) Ohara, Shigeo Okumura, Súper Comando b Ángel Azteca Jr., Metálico, Stuka Jr.
4) Pequeño Olímpico b Gitanito [mask]
5) Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Terrible DQ Ephesto, Mephisto, Universo 2000

Mask win was not with controversy, as Gitanito may have had his foot on the ropes on the final pin, but the ref did not see it. Gitanito – this one, at least – is Cristian Armando Hernandez Garcia, 13 years a wrestler, from Mexico City. That name doesn’t turn up anything in luchawiki and there are no pictures yet. The recap says this match was taped for the satellite shows – maybe it’ll turn up in clip form, like the minis hair match?

Universo fouled Mr. Aguila in the main event.

Speaking of mini identities, speculation is the new Mini Black Warrior is the old Mini Psicosis

Accion highlights:

CMLL: Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero Averno vs Mistico, Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., heavy on the Mistico highlights. Averno reversed La Mistica into a faceslam for the clean clean clean win. Averno’s gotta be losing in a major way soon; I was thinking we might actually get the mask match for the Year End Show, but I don’t think they’ll do that and a hair match. Perhaps Mistico goes thru Averno to get back to four titles instead.

AAA: Cibernetico, La Parka Jr. vs Mesias, Zorro from Veracruz. We get one armdrag before the run-ins. Mesias is making full use of his belt (by hitting people with it). Hijo de Tirantes gives it to the tecnicos by DQ.

Someone at Azteca America fixed the DeporTV copy protection issue. Thanks!

2) Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito b Pequeño Olímpico, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito
Olimpicito schools Mini Damian, but his partners drop the ball and get beat for a fall. And that’s all they show of that one, huh.

5) Marco Corelone, Místico, Valiente b Black Warrior, Sangre Azteca, Último Guerrero
Picked up during a beatdown, with Corelone taking UG’s headstand sit, Valiente taking Sangre’s low blow dropkick, and Corleone taking the GdI sit on the outside. Mistico takes nothing and starts the comeback with avoidance to set up a Corelone plancha Valiente starts giving everyone a backbreaker, and the tecnicos line up the rudo for the Superman dive. Moving onto another fall, Corleone tosses Evil Monkey around, Mistico sends out Sangre with a headscissors, Mistico sends UG out and follows with a headscissors. Valiente defeats Sangre clean with a seated armbar, and the other tecnicos clear out the other rudos.

Only two matches. That’s odd. FWIW, the camera position this week often stared across the ring towards the CMLL announce desk. There didn’t appear to be anyone sitting there.

CMLL 12/07 main event is Warrior/ToscanoLizmark Jr. vs Shocker/Bucanero

CMLL.com confirmed what was mentioned on the TV show over the weekend: the 12/07 CMLL End Of Year Main Event is Shocker and Rey Bucanero vs Black Warrior and Toscano. You could say this feud has loosely been going on for a while (at least Rey vs Tarzan), but it’s mostly something they’ve just thrown together this week. CMLL’s not definitive on the match having one or two hairs on the line, but I assume it’s two.

I think Black Warrior is losing his hair. They MIGHT do good business for the match (and the match might be good), but I don’t think the lead up feud or the rematches are going to mean anything.

Edit: In case you’ve missed the updates on the main page, Lizmark Jr. is in for Toscano.

Projected Air Date (#656)

Octagon was the surprise guy. I dunno why they just didn’t list him. The main event (rudos running in for the DQ) is hyped by AAA as build for Parka/Octagon defending the Mexican National tag team titles against Kenzo and Electro, neither of whom were actually in this match. Kenzo was replaced by Head Hunter I for reasons unknown.

This was all backdrop for Konnan and Mesias verbally turning on each other. Mesias is unhappy he’s now defending the AAA title against two guys instead of one – he would’ve been happy to give Zorro a shot, but not while he’s giving someone else one. Konnan doesn’t trust Mesias because…I have no idea. Well, in storyline anyway – I believe it was KrisZ who mentioned Mesias is expected back in Puerto Rico from December to April, just like last year. This split sure seems to set up Banderas being written out of AAA – he drops the title, Legion drops him and no coffin getting burned this time. The question becomes – who wins the title?

On one hand, you’d like the good guy to end up winning the feud over the bad guy, so we’d otherwise expect Cibernetico to win here. On the other hand, if you ever going to go with Zorro, you get no better chance than Zorro beating Cibernetico here – Cibernetico has a different guy to chase for a while, and Mesias has an obvious feud when he comes back.

You could also put it, and this should save Bihari one comment, is if Zorro wins the title at GdT, he’s the lead guy in the Foreign Legion. If Zorro turns on Mesais, and that shot directly leads to the finish, that may work too. Anything else, with Mesais gone and Zorro blowing his shot, the Legion becomes all about Konnan.

There are, in fact, other things to briefly discuss
– Semimain was all about putting people thru wooden objects.
– Decnnis interfered in the tercera to help the Guapos win.
– Sect destroyed Aero Star, and he got stretchered. I guess this is why that match isn’t for the titles – they lost!
– Linda Star is a replacement for a injured Cinthia Moreno. Rudas somehow got along to win. Post match, Fabi Apache was jumped by La Diabolica. I have no idea why. Best instant crackpot idea: remember when they were building Diabolica vs Martha and it was pretty evident which way that one was going? That fued seems to be dead from a TV perspective, but maybe Diabolica’s still willing to sell her mask and they’ve found a better person for it. This idea falls apart when you try to figure out WHEN it’d happen.
– whomever was supposed to be Gato Eveready was replaced by whomever is currently Super AAA. Perhaps the same person?
