6) Zorro b Cibernetico

Projected Air Date (#655)
Mexico: 11/25
US: 12/15

Mesais was declared unable to wrestle, so Zorro took the match with the promise of getting a title shot if he beat Cibernetico. He did, with Konnan’s help. That so perfectly sets up the future matches, it had to be the plan all along.

Scorpio pinned Alan with the ropes.

Fourth match was missing Elegidio (who was taken out by the rudos before the match), Abismo Negro and Kenzo Suzuki (replaced by Headhunter and Ozz.) The original Mosco de la Merced also made an appearance with the rudos – I wonder if they were just trying to round up enough guys for this match and ended up with too many rudos, because it doesn’t appear Mosco did anything but show up. Porky still ended up flattening the rudos for the win.

Second and third matches were connected with run-ins. Chessman accidently hit Halloween when going for Scoria in his seugnda, leading Halloween to cost Chessman the tercera. TJ Extreme is Tijuana wrestler TJ Power, taking Nicho’s spot.

Divina beat Mini Abismo in the opener.

Upcoming Tapings
11/15 Xalapa
11/19 Domo de la Feria, Leon

Konnan Big in TNA?

I was hoping this “Konnan Big to TNA Mexico’s show” was some message board fiction. I had read about the pre-show bit with the Spanish announce crew and a Random Mexican, but didn’t put it together till the photos and post on superluchas.

LAX ended up confronting Konnan Big. I don’t know why I’m brining this up right here, but Konnan Big and Mr. Texas feuded over the FILL Heavyweight Championship in 2005. So, if one the members of LAX had secretly been Mr. Texas, that may be the connection that got him here.

Why in the world would TNA bring in Konnan Big? He got over as a local star because he was pushed insanely hard versus local TV celebrities – he got over because the promoter decided they’d do whatever it take to get him over (and look at how ACM is doing now). He can’t work, he wasn’t a good promo, all he had was a look – which apparently hasn’t meant much since leaving NICE, since he’s done almost nothing. Maybe that’s why he was here – Wagner/Aguila/Abismo/Mistico/whomever else had actual bookings and Konnan Big was available.

This would’ve been cool with Dr. Wagner Jr. Konnan Big, not so cool. TNA, not so cool. Writing two posts a day about this TNA in Mexico show which I still don’t see how is going to draw a soul, not so cool.

This bit didn’t make the TNA PPV and so I think it’s just publicity for the TNA Mexico shows – maybe they’ll splice it into their broadcast of the show. If that’s it, then was just probably not worth the effort but nothing horrible. If they use him on TV, and the tapings are the next couple of days, then TNA is crazier than usual.

(I’m sure Konnan Big is a wonderful person.)

11/12: Park back to CMLL, Coliseo, GNL

This weekend, CMLL.com announced LA Park will return to Arena Mexico on 11/30. This puts a knife in the Todos X Todos show, since (teased) Park/Santo was supposed to draw and Park’s not working that show if he’s back in CMLL. I don’t know if Todos X Todos will happen; it doesn’t have much of a chance of success unless they change the format.

CMLL (SUN) 11/11 Arena Coliseo
1) Tiger Kid & Trueno b Polvora & Vaquero
2) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela b Amapola, La Nazi, Medussa
3) Leono, Mascara Purpura, Stuka Jr. DQ Euforia, Mr. Mexico, Nosferatu
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b La Mascara, Sagrado, Ultimo Dragon
5) Damian 666, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila b Negro Casas, Shocker, Volador Jr.

So, we’re heading to a Shocker/Perro hair match as the main event of the End Of Year Sure. No, really! Perro may have been goofing around more with the camera people during this match.

Mr. Mexico fouled Leono in that match.

CMLL (WED) 11/07 Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi [El Sol De SLP]
4) Alex Koslov, Dos Caras Jr., Máximo b Black Warrior, Loco Max, Sangre Azteca
5) Héctor Garza, Terrible, Texano Jr. b Lizmark Jr., Olímpico, Último Guerrero

CMLL LLA (SUN) 11/11 Gimnasio Nuevo Leon [RFC]
1) Angel Dorado Jr. & Beto Alcala b Black Soul & Voltaje Negro
2) Flecha Azul, Furor, Galactar b Regio Boy, Rey Apostol, Voltaje Negro
3) Bengali, Crazy Demon, Tacua b Hijo del Espanto II, Memo Valles, Pancho Tequila
4) Gitano, Golden Boy, Rey Hechizero b Orientale I, Orientale II, Tigre Universitario
5) Blue Panther & Dr. Wagner Jr. b Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero

CMLL.com mentions Sunday Coliseo shows are moving to Arena Mexico on 12/02, so all the talk about the work getting done quicker seems to be wrong. (Also, all the talk about them already moving all shows to Arena Mexico is wrong – Sunday’s still in Coliseo till the end of the month.)

12/15 TNA Toreo de Cuatro Caminos changes: TNA now lists Mr. Aguila as wrestling, and not Mistico or Abismo Negro. They’ve got a month to keep changing their minds.

Arena Mexico will be accepting canned food for flood victims today.
