11/07: Halcon, Puebla, Mexico, Park puts his mask up (again)

El Halcon returns with issue 94. It includes an interview with Metalico about his name change! I’ve missed el Halcon much.

CMLL (MON) 11/05 Arena Puebla [hugo999]
1) Forajido, Swat, Zigma b Aguila Guerrera, Furia Chicana, Siki Ozama Jr.
2) Centella de Oro, the Tiger, Tigre Rojo b Kraken, Maniacop, Policeman
3) La Mascara, Maximo, Sagrado b Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Skandalo
4) Marcela b Amapola [MEX WOMEN]
5) Black Warrior, Toscano, Ultimo Guerrero b Alex Koslov, Rey Bucanero, Shocker

Low attendence. UG got away with a low blow on Shocker.

CMLL (TUE) 11/06 Arena Mexico [ova]
1) Sombra de Plata & Trueno b Calígula & Méssala
2) Atomo, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito b Mini Black Warrior, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
3) Fabián el Gitano, Stuka Jr., Valiente b Loco Max, Ohara, Shigeo Okumura
4) Ephesto, Máscara Año 2000, Sangre Azteca b Felino, Mictlan, Sagrado
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Shocker b Atlantis, Black Warrior, Universo 2000

Good to see Valiente’s able to get back in the ring so quick. Mictlan replaced Mascara. Universo and Atlantis were going after Dos and Panther’s mask in the main event. Ovaciones says the show was well attended.

CMLL Tercera Cuerda (SAT) 11/03 Palenque de Gallo de la Feria de Chiapas [MAGIC MARKUS BGT]
4) Bam Bam, Guerrero Zulu, Mascarita Dorada b Fuercita India, Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Halloween
5) el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Virus b Sagrado & Volador Jr.

Virus replaced Mr. Aguila, which makes the main event look strange. Perro took Sagrado and Volador’s masks after the match.

Today’s Figure Four Weekly reports CMLL may evade running all their weekly shows at Arena Mexico in December. Business owners around Arena Coliseo weren’t happy with being out of business for a month while the roads were being ripped up and apparently have gotten the plans changed. All of the work is scheduled to be done by 11/30. FFW says ALL the weekly shows will be moved to Mexico during November, but CMLL hasn’t made any announcement about moving the Sunday shows yet – maybe that starts next week.

CMLL (TUE) 11/06 Arena Actopan
1) Hombre Bala Jr. & Kid Tiger vs Corsario & Puma King
2) Astro Boy & Sensei vs Arkangel & Loco Max
3) Bam Bam & Mascarita Dorada vs Mini Black Warrior & Mr. Aguilita
4) Brazos vs Villano III & Villano IV
5) LA Park & Volador Jr. vs Hijo de Lizmark & Terrible

That opener amuses me.

CMLL (SUN) 11/11 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Virgo vs Milenio
2) Ebola & Golden vs Depredador (Guadalajara) & Exterminador
3) Gallo & Mach 1 vs Infierno & Malefico
4) Maximo, Metal Blanco, Super Nova vs Angel Blanco, Toxico, Virus
5) Alex Koslov, Rayman, Rey Bucanero vs Black Warrior, Hijo de Lizmark, Texano Jr.

I sure hope Texano gets his title shot someday.

AAA (SUN) 11/11 Unidad Deportiva Benito Juarez, Minatitlan
1) La Mole & Serpiente Azteca vs Anticristo & El Nahual
2) Diamantina & Hiedra Venenosa vs Chick Fantasy & Guerrera Oriental
3) Draliono Star, Estrella Metalica, Roger Ranger vs Equinoxio, Judas 666, Rey Mortal
4) Angel, Huracan 2000, Krihsna vs Diamante Negro, Rock Power, Shendu el Guerrero
5) Crazy Boy, Jhony Reyna, Joe Lider vs Azor, Guerrero Blanco, Roquero Tri

Admission is one kilo of canned foods for charity. Crazy Boy’s run this sort of show in the past and it sounds like a nice deal.

CMLL (THU) 11/15 Arena Xalapa [MIKE @ box y lucha]
1) Gabriel o Gabriela & Gore vs Crazyman & Rey Garfio Jr.
2) Cosmos, Jaguar, Samuray vs Caballero Negro Jr., Guerrero del Infierno, Perro Mocho Jr.
3) La Sombra, Sagrado, Volador Jr. vs Mascara Purpura, Stuka Jr., Valiente
4) Mistico, Rey Bucanero, Shocker vs Averno, Black warrior, Ultimo Guerrero
5) LA Park vs Pierroth [hair, mask]

So that’s another win for Park. Tercera is tecnicos vs tecnicos.

Tijuana’s director of sports has rejected yesterday’s plan to split the local Comission of Box Y Lucha. He says it would hurt amateur sports and other places who’ve split the two commissions have ended up putting them back together. The director says Mexico City’s splitting the two has worked poorly for them, while the article yesterday said it worked great – there’s clearly something going on here.

NotiFight writes about the Friday night Arena Coliseo Guadalajara boxing match that turned into a riot. It sounds like the boxers seconds started fighting, then everyone started fighting. Building was still closed on Monday. That article is more about the blame (everyone’s pointing the finger at the commission), and this article is about the riot itself, breaking out during the sixth round of a match.

The show did go on Tuesday, but with a lot of card changes. IX @ box y lucha went primarily to see Black Warrior, who did not appear. They went looking for a refund after the match and had to take the argument to Apolo Dantes (who’s in charge there) and eventually got a free ticket for another show while being told Warrior missed the show due to injury. Apolo Dantes might have been told that, but Warrior was working Mexico City at that time. Negro Casas and Maximo also missed the show. I wonder if people got pulled or bailed on the show because Sunday’s was canceled.

A promoter in Tepic got taken to the hospital after Zumbido took him out with a dive. (WORK!) In the undercard, Super Fly won a Rey del Aire tournament and Mini Histeria took Muerte Negra’s mask in a minis ruleta de muerte.

Magazines
Guerreros del Ring #112 has La Sombra
Box Y Lucha #2843 has Mistico and Negro as LOSERS. (The photo quietly teases a breakup as well.) Also, Veneno’s apparently in jail.

TNA confirms AJ Styles vs Mistico for 12/15

Point for wrestlingdom, though I’m iffy on “confirms”

In the coming days, TNAwrestling.com will announce a huge match set to take place at the December 15 TNA live event in Mexico City featuring one of Mexico’s top high-flying superstars battling our very own “Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

TNA Wrestling.com (where this news ranked in importance behind getting people to vote for the Pro Bowl and new pictures of women on their website)

I know I’m being a total buzzkill, but I still don’t think this is actually going to happen. CMLL’s pulled Mistico from shows promoted by others in Japan (Dragon…door?) and in the US (FMLL), they surely can still do when he’s working for another promoter in Mexico. Especially when it’s going to be right around CMLL’s last major show of the year and AAA wrestlers (Mesias, Abismo) are supposed to work the show.

The only way I’d be confident of it happening is if CMLL themselves announced this match was going down and they were happy for it to go down. Until then, they can play the “we didn’t know someone was promoting this match but it never was going to happen” bit any time they want, up until the moment Mistico gets in the ring.

Lady Apache’s dive gone wrong

so I’ve finally figured out how to clip video my new way:

TiVo —> TiVoToGo (.tivo) –> plug in to convert to iPod video -> Windows Media Maker

I really should’ve used the Alfa video as proof of concept but this was quicker. This is pretty brutal, you’ve been warned.

On a completely different note, I really ought to have pointed out that the valet bumpers before the breaks were outstanding this week.
