CMLL (SUN) 10/21 Arena Coliseo
1) Astro Boy & Sensei b Pólvora & Vaquero
2) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Tony Rivera b Apocalipsis, Hooligan, Mr. México
3) Felino, La Máscara, Valiente b Misterioso II, Skandalo, Virus
4) Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero, Shocker b Black Warrior, Olímpico, Samurai Shiro
5) Místico b Averno
Tecnico sweep. Averno had Mistico in the Devil’s Wings, in the third fall, but Mistico escaped to an armbar. They fought a bit longer, but Mistico ended up getting La Mistica for the win. CMLL.com’s notes teases further matches, but I’m not so sure.
Shocker pinned Samurai Shiro in the semimain.
(El_Blue on El Martiente) Mexico’s Galavision is scheduled to air the CMLL Anniversary show on 10/28. I’ve looked at the TV listings for Sunday, and they list Lucha Libre AAA twice in a row, both two hours long. A shorter AAA show makes sense – whenever AAA splits up a taping in half, they usually have about 5 hours of original stuff and one hour of filler repeat, and this should be the second week of the Pena show.
IWRG (THU) 10/18 Arena Naucalpan [SuperLuchas]
1) Judas el Traidor & Rockero del Diablo b Halcon Salvaje & Latin Brother
2) Fantasma de la Ópera, Golem, Samba b Capitan Muerte, Oficial 911, Xibalva
3) Black Terry, Enterrador 2000, Septiembre Negro II DQ Centauro, el Hijo Del Anibal, Negro Navarro
4) Oficial Fiero b Ultraman Jr. [IWRG IC MIDDLE, qf]
5) Negro Casas b Nitro [IWRG IC MIDDLE, qf]
6) Negro Casas b Ultraman Jr. [IWRG IC MIDDLE, sf]
Instead of two brackets of eight, IWRG was actually running two brackets of four. They had all eight wrestlers here for the seeding battle royal (which means people worked one minute and were done for the day), so Bogeman, Damian 666, Villano III and Felino all move on to next week. Negro’s not a regular here and there’s no built in rivalry. Bogeman was my pick going into this and still seems like the safe bet, but I could see any one of the other four moving on to face him.
IWRG (SUN) 10/21 Arena Naucalpan [SuperLuchas]
1) Simbolo & Tortuguillo Ninja b Asesino del Futuro & Comando Gama
2) Kid Tiger & Samba b Macho II & Radioactivo
3) Capitan Muerte, Cyborg, Xibalva b Centauro, Fabián el Gitano, Golem
4) Cirujano, Enterrador 2000, Nitro b Bogeman, Felino, Ultraman Jr.
5) Fantasma de la Ópera & Freelance DQ Black Terry & Cerebro Negro [ri]
6) Cerebro Negro DQ Black Terry [IWRG IC WELTER]
Everyone had a hard time with the concept of excessive violence on this show. The relevos incredible came down to Cererbo Negro vs Freelance, and Cerebro Negro got a submission for the win. He wouldn’t let go, so the ref DQed them. Black Terry was naturally ticked at his partner for throwing a way a win, and beat him up good. The referee tried to get Terry to back off, Black Terry pushed him away and finished off Cerebro Negro. Of course, the referee DQed Black Terry, and Cerebro Negro wins the welterweight title for the fifth time. Something out of Fantasma de la Opera, Black Terry and Cerebro Negro should be part of the yearly Castle of Terror show next week.
IWRG’s website is starting to sort of work. The lineup page is updated. Links or hit or miss on working the rest of the site and there’s not much content. There doesn’t seem to be a results page, and you still get a full screen of javascript code if you go to the homepage in Firefox.
CMLL (TUE) 10/16 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [superluchas #235]
1) Impostor b Thunder Boy
2) Estrella de Jalisco b Fraile de la Muerte
3) Metatron b Danger (Guadalajara)
4) Mr. Trueno b Magnum
5) Sagrado NC Máscara Mágica
6) Blue Panther & Rey Bucanero b Damián 666 & Mr. Águila
7) Dos Caras Jr. & Marco Corelone b Atlantis & Terrible
Ref caught both Mascara Magica and Sagrado fouling each other and threw the match out. Those two have been feuding for quite a while and must be close to a hair match.
AAA AYALA (TUE) 10/16 Lienzo Charro de Ciudad Mante [superluchas #235]
1) Baby Lover & Chuntaro b Atomo Negro & Mensajero de al Muerte
2) Jesse & Yurkio b Brazo de Plata Jr. & Spider-Boy
3) Alebrije & Cuije b Chucky & Monsther [AAA MASCOT TAG]
4) Nemesis AAA & Super Fly b Alan & Decnis
5) Brazo de Plata Jr., Elegido, Gronda II b Decnis, Monsther, Taliban
6) Alan Stone, Elegido, Gronda II b Scorpio Jr., Taliban, Zumbido
A bus breakdown caused people to be quite late for the show, so they kinda did the main event twice. Barrio Boy Alan does still exist, good to know.
Superluchas says the belt Lola Gonzalez is defending is from “EWF”, but the letters on the belt appear to be EWWC. Don’t know of either.
In last week’s SuperLuchas, Pierroth said he’d be the only Pierroth by the end of the year, because he wasn’t happy with how things turned out (after he sold he sold the rights to his “son” gimmicks to various people.” This week, on the cover of SuperLuchas (and a video at that link), Pierroth Jr. unmasks himself. As previously figured, he was the original Mosco de Merced, later known as X-Fly. I’m surprised he didn’t lose his mask in a match, and Mosco claims he didn’t want to be a fraud by losing it. According to Mosco, Pierroth offered him the mask for five years and is backing out after only two, but they only had a verbal agreement, nothing on paper. (Always get it on paper!)
Figure on Hijo de Pierroth, which is the one who’s been a regular in CMLL (but may be out of it now) to figure out a new gimmick if/when he comes back from AJPW.
indy (FRI) 10/26 Auditorio de Tijuana [d3v1lb0y @ box y lucha]
1) Forastero & TJ Power vs Hades & Mr. Maldito
2) Scream, Tazmania, Viernes 13 vs Excalibur, Iron Boy, Luminoso
3) Bam Bam & Ultimo Dragoncito vs Mini Damian 666 & Mini Halloween
4) Bobby Lee Jr. vs Hijo de Kendo, Angel Blanco Jr., Kiss Jr., Hijo de Rey Misterio, Black Shadow Jr., Hijo del Faraon [cage, mask, hair]

* In a radio interivew, Teddy Hart says he and Jack Evans have been offered spots in AAA by Konnan, but even Teddy notes it’s not confirmed. There’s been talk for a while about Konnan bringing in indy name high fliers from US (and Canada) and this would fit with that.
* El Sud de Californiano writes about an AAA spot in Los Cabos.
* On a show on Thursday in Thursday Perro and Hector worked tecnico, while Alex and Marco were evil foreigners. Or the reporter could just be confused, but it does make sense that Los Perros would be cheered in places.
