CMLL CAN52 #97

CMLL CAN52 GdR #97, aired in the US on 09/29, taped on 09/21 and 09/23.

What do you do? Do you give credit to Luna Magica for wanting to try stuff, or do you take away credit for not being able to do any of the stuff well? She was by far the worst worker in the trios match – that’s not a surprise, but it still wasn’t a good night. There were moments of the women’s match which were really good, but it didn’t hold at any level.

Main event was just two sides taking turns beating each other down and an inconclusive finish. It wasn’t a good match, but it wasn’t designed to be a good match – it was supposed to get a reaction with the live crowd and seemed to do it.

  1. No matter how bad certain wrestlers are, I always give them credit for trying new things when I first see them since I’d rather see a bad wrestler try new things than a great wrestler go through the same match 50 times in a row. Perhaps this explains my 2001 – 2003 love for CZW and various U.S. indies? Perhaps it explains my hatred of Ric Flair and Bret Hart? Either way… it gets to a point eventually where if you are trying new things and you keep failing – it might be time to stop. That’s usually when I turn on said wrestlers.
