Mesias’s failed ladder dive

(via mIcHeLLe.mAnSoN at Satanico’s Mansion)

Looks like Mesias got no spring on his jump and fell well short. I don’t know if it’s because the ladder failed, or if it’s just the company being stupid for putting their lead (in-ring) rudo in a position to seriously hurt himself for a spot that would be utterly meaningless by the next taping.

Well, it’s definitely the latter, but the ladder could’ve broke too.

  1. I assume Banderas came up with the spot himself, based from what I’ve heard of his work in Puerto Rico… so I would say it was AAA’s fault for allowing him to do that, but maybe they thought they had to do a big spot being that a title match and all that… I’d rather see them working an old style title match, but maybe it is not their type of thing…

He was this close to pulling a Manson@Madero.

  2. Banderas is always crazy when in big matches. I remember watching him jump off a balcony in a match vs Vampiro in IWA PR. I wonder what this does for Bound For Glory? Isn’t it next week?

  3. When we see better footage, I guarantee you the only reason Mesias is still walking today is because Chessman jumped off the table and sacrificed his only body to make the catch. He probably took the brunt of 230 pounds falling from that high at great speed.

  4. Can it be possible Chessman was aware the jump came off short and went on to make the catch?

I got the feeling they’ll cut to a crowd shot and we’ll never know for sure… hehehe…

  5. Actually the ladder slipped from under neath him… the ref was pulling on it instead of holding it straight

  6. Spots that involve the ref helping set them up are stupid. I can see a shitty fed like CZW doing it b/c… well… it’s a SHITTY minor league fed. A major league fed like AAA should avoid doing stuff like that.
