09/21: Coliseo, Cuervanaca, Puebla, Mexico Preview

CMLL

CMLL (TUE) 09/18 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II b Artillero & Zayco
2) Metalico, Sombra de Plata, Tiger Kid b Apocalipsis, Ramstein, Super Comando
3) Euforia, Mr. Mexico, Nosferatu b Leono, Starman, Valiente
4) Maximo, Ogun, Sagrado DQ Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Damian 666, Mr. Aguila, Terrible b Alex Koslov, Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone

Guessing – I may come back end fix this if DeporTV has some better clues. When guys turn on each other, it’s usually a DQ win for their team, even if it doesn’t make any sense. Ogun turned on Maximo here. The possible upside is both guys will keep working on Tuesday Coliseo to keep the feud going, and maybe that means they won’t be on the taping shows as often.

CMLL (THU) 09/20 Arena Isabel de Cuervanaca [Dark Atlantis @ El Martiente]

2) Anubis & Celestial b Circulo Rojo & Estatal Ramses
3) Mascara Purpura & Sombra b Sangre Azteca & Virus
4) Alex Koslov, Mistico, Volador Jr. b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Semimain sets up Mascara Purpura vs Sangre Azteca for the Mexican Welterweight Championship on the next show.

Ovaciones has a brief blurb, giving more space to a history of lucha libre piece. Notimex. ESTO throws in a random “Triad de Terror could be challenging Los Perros for their trios titles soon!” bit. I wonder if they’ve got the wrong trios title feud.

ESTO writes about Shocker’s return, saying he was missing due to “diverse personal and professional commitments.” Shocker and his father are also mentioned as promoting shows in Guadalajara during the off period.

AAA’s crossing the border this weekend:

AAA (SAT) 09/22 Cowtown Coliseum, Ft. Worth, Texas
1) Cinthia Moreno, Octagoncito, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Fabi Apache, Mini Abismo Negro, Polvo de Estrellas
2) Billy Boy, Pegasso, Super Fly vs Apache, Espiritu, Mr. Condor
3) La Parka Jr., Laredo Kid, Octagon vs Fuerza Guerrera, Ozz, Scoria
4) Charly Manson & Chessman vs Kenzo Suzuki & Mesias

Don’t expect Mesias or Apache to make it. Same lineup in Houston the next night, though no idea what building.

ESTO interviews Blue Demon Jr. about his anti-piracy campaign, returning to CMLL at some point this year, and his chairty foundation.

Once TV talks about women in wrestling. It reads like the usual story, but there’s video of the segment and Princesa Sujei explain how she came up with her mask and name (though not how to spell it.)

People’s Weekly World (the paper of US Communist Party) writes about El Santo’s movie career. In Durango, there will be a music recital on Sunday to celebrate Santo’s life.

  1. Yes, usually if one member of your team turns on you, that is a DQ. Unless there is a rule change that was left out somewhere.

  2. I was talking to someone who has SKY here in the US. He knows I really want to see the PPV on Friday 9/28. He asked me “What kind of internet connection do you have”?, and said he has a “Slingbox”, to sent me the signal on the internet. I’m hoping you guys know more about the slingbox, and if it’s really reliable to send a good signal via the net.

As you can tell, I postponed my trip to Mexico. I’m going in November instead.
