Winning 4 Titles Is Dangerous To Your Health

As noted last week, Mistico is having knee issues which may keep him out of the ring between now and the anniversary show. Luckily, he doesn’t appear to have title defenses for any of his four belts any time soon, which would be really strange in a legit sport.

Mesias, at least technically, is also a four title champion. He picked up the GPWC Super-X Monster Title (La Parka Jr.), the IWC World Heavyweight Championship (Cibernetico), and the UWA Light Heavyweight Championship (Zorro via Chessman) over the course of the AAA Heavyweight Tournament (at least until they change the story again) and of course he won the AAA title too. Sure enough, just as he’s winning the last titles, the fates struck him down with a ladder dive gone awry.

Ovaciones is reporting this morning that Mesias is suffering from trauma to the sciatic nerve, which is the same exact problem Gran Apache has. No fractures or other injuries were found, but he’s going to have to rest three weeks before he can start rehab, and there’s no word about how long that’ll take.

Mesias will obviously miss the 09/30 AAA TV Taping (as well as the SLP spot show on 10/03 that he’s being advertised for.) He would start rehab before the TNA PPV, but it’s unclear if he’ll be in shape to wrestle on that show (or the two TV tapings the following days.)

Ovaciones also notes Sahori and Shockercito will be out 4 weeks due to knee injuries. Sahori’s getting arthroscopic surgery on hers.

  1. Didn’t Mesias still has that WSX title? He should also have Charly’s Mexican Heavyweight title, since they said that the tournament was to unify all titles.

  2. He couldn’t win the Mexican title, he’s Puerto Rician. Which is a problem they’ll never explain.

WSX exists in an alternate universe, as those who watched the shows could attest to.

For what it’s worth, AAA’s saying this morning that Mesias is a three belt champion, no mention of the UWA one.

  3. WSX is airing on local MTV, they still have to get to Banderas winning the belt (I’m not sure since I’m not watching it), so maybe that’s why they have not acredited him with that title… yet.
