  1. I was really pleased to see Black Warrior’s name on the lineups earlier – He’s awesome and he’s been missed even if it was just for 3-4 months.

Those cards are nothing to get excited about. The Sunday one in particular is dreadful outwith the main. :(

It still amazes me just how the CMLL bookers can contrive to come up with such dull, uninteresting fare most weeks considering the talent pool they have available. It really does beggar belief at times. Having been a lucha fan since around 97/98, i would never have had any hesitation in championing CMLL as the best wrestling promotion in the world bar none every year…. until the last year or so. Things really have just went to shit :(

Pretty frustrating because we know it’s not a shortage of talent – the blame lies squarely at the booking, and the new CMLL “fuck the lucha libre, just get on with the signature spots” style.

Ah well, maybe one day it’ll return to it’s past glories. But despite those cards, i’ll still be happy as long as Sombra de Plata and Tigre Blanco make TV today! :)

Chui, did Neutron make it to FSE last night?

I guess the bookers read the Reforma and thought “hey, we are running the national trios title for the anniversary, lets do something to build up to that”… but the hat decided differently…

Henrik: Yep, that and Mascara Purpura and Charles -weird since the interviews had them pushing Misterioso II vs Mascara Purpura heading for a mask vs mask deal.

  3. I’m still not in cubs’ camp. I don’t think Purpura/Charles is heading anywhere and on the slim chance is does head somewhere – Purpura is losing. Cubs will probably be right but something is really fishy about this feud.

Aside from the brilliant Arena Neza show (your welcome!), lineups are nothing to get excited about this week. Not a single match that could air on TV worth going out of your way to look forward to. Why is Heavy Metal booked on all 3 shows in promanent matches?

Happy to see the Arena Mex tercera aired just b/c I like when Arena Mex shows air at least 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 6 matches.:)

  4. Maybe Purpura takes Emilio’s hair and then looses to Misterioso II?

Bah, CMLL TV is airing Neutron match again!!! So I guess they’re starting to save stuff for the PPE weekend.

  5. Fuck, normally it would be great for a Neutron match to air – but not when it’s aired a day before and is at the expense of an awesome looking segunda!!

So frustrating, when does the main show and the b-show ever double up with matches? – almost never, you’d be lucky if it averaged out at about 2 or 3 occasions a year. and if for whatever reason they have to do it now and again, why the fuck can’t they do it when it’s guys we see every week anyway, or the women!

    Arggh, i give up :(

  6. Well… they have aired the same ladies match twice before… but how come it always happens on FSE!

  7. Sorry that I misuse this topic for a question.

I only know Lucha Libre from those Mexican wrestlers who fough in WCW & WWE in the past. I recognized that former Essa Rios now wrestles as Mr Aguila in CMLL and I wonder: is he still any good?

    Thanks for answers, guys :-)

  8. He’s fun to watch at times but doesn’t seem to really care about improving. Like a lot of luchadors these days, he seems to be more worried about getting endorsment deals or TV show gigs out of wrestling.

  9. So what from Arena Mex ended up airing, Chui? Just the horrible top two? The photos of the tercera looked amazing.:(

  10. Neutron/Mictlan/Stuka vs Infernales and top 2 from ArMex, they weren’t THAT bad… Rey Bucanero seems to be trying to come up with some new team moves but they have no chemistry whatsoever, lots of sloppyness but since this was more of a comedy thing, I found it sort of funny… at least Perros were playing fools for their opponents instead of exclusively putting over Aguayo’s feud with the ropes and the camera.

  11. I guess the segunda airs on one of the weekend shows next week. I kinda wanted to see the tercera since the SL photos looked like they did cool dives. Maybe Momentos…
