last two FSEs

I swore I wrote a lucha times post and put up it Wednesday, but I don’t know where it is. I only figured it out because I was looking back to figure out what aired on FSE in Mexico the last couple weekends.

I’m guessing it was

09/21 FSE
09/16 Coliseo: Hijo del Lizmark, Olimpico, Toscano DQ Blue Panther, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas
09/16 Coliseo: Mascara Purpura b Emilio Charles Jr. [hair]

09/28 FSE
09/23 Coliseo: India Sioux, Lady Apache, Sahori DQ Amapola, La Nazi, Mima Shimoda
09/23 Coliseo: Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero b Eclipse, Sangre Azteca, Toscano

Is that correct?

10/01: Panther, highlight shows

In today’s Ovaciones, Blue Panther says he’d like to win Atlantis’ mask next. Good luck on that. The IWRG Oficiales are interviewed was well – their feud with the AJPW guys has been dropped for one versus the clowns.

In Arturo Rivera’s weekend column, he mentions how Extreme Tiger would work much better as a rudo teaming with Halloween rather than as Mexican Power tecnico. I think he’s been reading ahead. The preview is written under the impression Mesias is working tonight’s taping, if it means anything.

Box Y Lucha’s got next Sunday’s lineup:

CMLL (SUN) 10/07 Arena Coliseo
1) Bracito de Oro & Pequeno Olimpico vs Mr. Aguilita & Sombrita
2) Fabian el Gitano, Leono, Tony Rivera vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Super Comando
3) La Mascara, Sombra, Volador vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico
4) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone vs Black Warrior, Sangre Azteca, Toscano
5) Atlantis, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero vs Hector Garza, Villano III, Villano V

Tercera could be pretty fun. ByL does not have the IWRG lineups, so I don’t know if they’ll turn up this week.

Accion was only 40 minutes this week, but they did leave in the lucha segment – which went no longer than a minute. We got about 30 seconds of each cage match. Funny how that worked out, both having cage matches the same day (and one was free.) Seemed there was more time spent on the AAA one, but we got to see Lizmark Jr. unmasked and didn’t really see Espiritu get shaved. Looks like the Hell Brothers tied a rope to the top of the cage to climb out, but it backfired with Cibernetico getting choked by the rudos. Also, we had another table that didn’t break right.

DeporTV had highlights of from last Tuesday.
1) Astro Boy does a moonsault to the floor, sense beats Zyaco with an inverted Gory Strech
2) Fantasy send out Fire and follows with a Asai Moonsault, Electirco does a slingshot headscissors into the ring and a no hands tope con giro out. Bam Bam hits his tornillo too. PIerorth goes for a dive, gets tripped into the ropes, and Fantasy hits a guillotine top rope moonsault, which is new. Bam Bam powerbombs Fire for the other pin.
3) Tony Rivera highlight bit, with Fabian having eh timing. Triple tope by the tencicos. Fabian sends Arkangel out, and then Valiente does – well, pictures are better.

Fabian uses a reverse tope for a finish.
4) is SKIPPED. That is okay.
5) Lots of posing, imagine that. Wagner bounces V5 around with armdrags, poses, and gets blant low blow kicked.

Dance number in between matches. They don’t have enough time for matches! (Oh, right, they’re putting up the cage.)

On Now
6) Mistico vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Villano V, Dr. Wagner Jr., Ultimo Guerrero, Hijo de Lizmark, Blue Panther, Atlantis [cage, hair, mask]
Order of entrances

Villano V
Blue Panther
Hijo de Lizmark
Atlantis
Ultimo Guerrero
Dr. Wagner Jr.
Perro Aguayo Jr.
Mistico – starts to get booed (maybe 65/35 for him) and the announcers talk over it.

Mistico big plancha – CHECK!

We’re into the time killing while waiting for the cue to split.

Order of exit
1) Villano V!
the guy who isn’t Julio Cesar and isn’t Valiente is sounding like he’s going to run out of oxygen at any time.
2) Atlantis, leaving UG behind
3) Dr. Wagner Jr.

Mistico big dive #2

4) Ultimo Guerrero
5) Mistico

Perro Jr., Lizmark Jr. and Blue Panther remain. It appears it will be a triangle match from here, which is different – Babe Richard is entering the cage.

6) Perro Aguayo wins his way out.

Holy carp, Blue Panther vs Lizmark Jr. really is your anniversary main event. I hope CMLL doesn’t make me very sad in the next five minutes.

7) BLUE PANTHER MAKES LIZMARK JR SUBMIT!

Lizmark Junior’s stats:
Name: Juan Carlos Baños
Experience: 16 years
Hometown: Acapulco, Guerrero

I’ll post show reports links here if they turn up in the next couple of hours. Otherwise, see you tomorrow and thanks for reading.

09/28: Anniversary Show pre-notes

Not much news besides stuff directly relating to the Anniversary show.

(SuperLuchas) Mistico is hurt (again) (again) Sounds like he was knocked out after a head scissors gone bad with Efesto in Toluca. Mistico was/is hospitalized but wanted to leave at SuperLuchas last report. There’s no word if he’ll make the anniversary show but I suppose he will.

I know I should be more concerned about, but this story is quite repetitive. It doesn’t really matter if Mistico should or should not wrestle, he’ll wrestle and probably win. You hope he gets some time off and he may or may not.

Everyone’s previewing the anniversary show. That’s Ovaciones’ story, NotiMex writes the usual, ESTO gets quotes from most everyone (and says it’ll be a 7 minute delay before people can leave),

Luchas 2000 #387 hypes the main event by having everyone take their masks off for photos. (Perro Jr. is unable to remove his hair.)

ESTO talks to Villano V, who says none of the Villano children will be allowed to use the Villano name. They’ll have have to make their own names, just like they did not use the name of their father, Ray Mendoza. Villano V is disappointed because many thinks he’ll lose his mask, but is using it as motivation.

ESTO makes quick mention of the TNA in Arena Monterrey show on 12/14. Interestingly, they say Mr. Aguila and Perro Aguayo Jr. are going to work the show (facing two Americans) and Mesias is still scheduled for it. That’s gotta be a problem.

Not sure if there will be live coverage on the site, but I’ll post something for comments at the least. I’ve got some backloaded recaps that ought to be posted as well.

CMLL Anniversary Predictions

CMLL (FRI) 09/28 Arena Mexico
1) Metalico, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Euforia, Loco Max, Nosferatu
2) Dark Angel, Luna Magica, Marcela vs Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Sujei
3) La Sombra, Ultimo Dragon, Volador Jr. vs Misterioso Jr., Texano Jr., Virus
4) Alex Koslov, Sagrado, Sombra vs Ephesto, Sangre Azteca, Toscano
5) Marco Corelone, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero vs Averno, Mephisto, Olimpico
6) Mistico vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Villano V, Dr. Wagner Jr., Ultimo Guerrero, Hijo de Lizmark, Blue Panther, Atlantis [cage, hair, mask]

As noted when this card came out, there’s nothing very interesting about this card. Various important people are putting their mask (or hair) on the line, but there’s not much chance of them losing. The main event will draw a full house by itself, but CMLL is too aware of that and just threw together a bunch of names in unappealing matches for the rest of the show.

Still, might as well throw some guesses together on the stuff that matters. SuperLuchas ran a poll to guess the loser, and Villano V ran away with it. Lizmark Jr. is second, and those are the two safe bets – I’m 95% sure it’ll be one or the other.

As Steve Sims pointed out on Figure Four Daily, figuring out the winner is more interesting. Someone gets to put a famous mask on their resume forever and gets the post-mask loss program for a couple of months.

Who do you have as the last two? Who’s going to lose their mask? I’ll put my guesses after the link.
