AAA #639

taped 07/16, aired 08/25

“Mini Extreme Tiger” was so great.

The big idea for the show was putting the rudos back over strong, to counterbalance the loss at TripleMania. I can understand that, but I would’ve been more into a new direction being set up. They really didn’t play up the La Parka Jr. injury angle or next week’s cage match as much as I thought they would.

Mini Histeria is just eh. The bigger problem is there’s no fun in having the minis matches as ridiculously overbooked as the rest of the card.

I hope the Guapos split means they do more with them. Outside of the Guapito skits here (still don’t know why he wanted a match where his guys lost aired), their matches on this show just kinda reminds me how underutilized they’ve been this year with the Intocable and Brazo de Plata feuds being dropped.

I’m sure the Mexican Powers are thrilled with the idea of feuding with Sabu, which makes 3. I presume they’re just going to wait till Guerrera de Titanes to do the match, without much more build. I’m sure the dream idea is to do Crazy/Lider vs Sabu/RVD for the tag titles, but RVD was disinterested in the business last I heard.

  1. What a crappy episode. I hope this was just one isolated incident because if this is the sign of the new direction of the company then the direction will be straight down the toilet.
