Legion won the main event, leaving the tecnicos bloody. Cibernetico vowed to shave the rest of the rudos one by one.
Kenzo used a piledriver on La Parka and got away with it. Parka was strechered out, and AAA is hyping it as a long term injury angle with Parka requiring surgery. Every report I’ve read about Parka since his return has mentioned his previously injured shoulder still affecting him, and I’m presuming they just had him work thru TripleMania before taking more time off to get the shoulder better. There’s no return date mentioned.
Fuerza snuck in his foul on Octagon in the tercera to get the win.
Mexican Powers beat the Guapos clean, but Sabu, Konnan and Ron Killings attacked the crew after the match. They’re building to a Sabu (and Killings?) vs Mexican Powers extreme battle.
Mini’s match was originally announced as Mascarita Sagrada 2000 vs Mini Histeria for the Mexican Mini’s Championship. AAA’s recap has Divina replacing Sagrada, and the photolog adds that it was a #1 contenders match for the title. There were rumors of Sagrada leaving the company, and it sure seems like he no-showed this to keep the belt (which Mini Histeria and his new big push would’ve likely taken.)

——————-
Alas de Oro must be AAA’s answer to “Rey del Aire”, Laredo Kid should be taking this home since… he’s the home guy. I guess it’ll be a dome cage match, to get a bigger draw.
Show could use an extra match in the opener but overall I’m impressed.
Main: Not the brightest idea to put on another cage match with basically the same guys as Triplemania but it’ll draw if it’s the special domed cage again and the bottom line is making money so this will work.
Semi: Introducing the new Guapos… perfectly fine. Is it Scorpio, Alan, Jordy, Zumbido or Scorpio and all the Stones?
Tercera: Is there anyone who doesn’t think ??? = Sabu? Juventud should be working extra hard against guys who he thinks are on a bigger level so it might be a fun match. Sabu or Lider is coming out seriously injured.
Segunda: The only way I won’t like this is if Extreme Tiger wins.:) Seriously though… he better not win. Tiger also has this way of dragging good workers down just by being in the ring since he wants to get all his stuff in. Hopefully he goes out early. It’s also a bit confusing as to why 5 members of La Fuerza Aerea would be okay facing each other instead of just teaming up? This is the kind of match Pena would never book for that reason alone. It’s too “ECW-ish”. Not to mention Escoria being the only rudo in there… that’s just silly. Might as well have made it 8 tecnicos and added Nemesis or Explosivo. My early prediction is it comes down to Laredo Kid over Super Fly.
Primera: So is Alfa an exotico?
Chris is not in the card, so it’s Alan, Jordy, Zumbidosky and Scorpio. I think this is the match to have Intocable back.
La Parka is missing (gone for a while) and that’s really a problem, I think they should have booked at least Abismo Negro in a sixth match, but maybe they feel confident in the cage drawing, that is, if it is indeed a dome like structure.
This will proof if Hombre sin Miedo is high on Konnan’s list or it was just an unfounded rumor.
If they don’t feel confident doing the HB vs random tecnicos, they really need to start creating new tecnicos b/c you can’t go another 6 months with HB vs Secta/Foreign Legion matches.
They can’t go another 6 months with HB vs Secta/Foreign Legion matches… but they will surely try.
I hope this doesn’t happen but this is really entering nWo territory circa 1997 and funny enough it’s Konnan booking it.
They really need to shake it up in the main event soon, hell push the Guapos up a little for a feud with the HB’s. We’ll really know what’s up whenever Konnan turns face and creates Secta Wolfpack to counter Secta Black & White led by Mesias.
Once again let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
I think you’ve got this one pegged Zellner. Especially with the way Konnan is always talking about “I’m super over”, “the crowd is dying to see someone hit me”, “I’m a superstar”, etc. He clearly wants to be a regular working main eventer and as a tecnico.
I’ve always enjoyed Konnan (yes, even as a wrestler) so I wouldn’t mind seeing it but if it’s just leading to another year of Konnan/HB vs Foreign Legion matches… ugh…
And like WCW in that period the undercard will be awesome but the main events not so much.
The main events have been bad or like… 10+ years and they had not scared the crowd away, so I don’t really see a problem… other than no Parka. This is where Hijo del Santo was needed.
Well the difference with this than the others was the hotness of the angle and how the fans fell in love with the HB’s. Seeing them get their ass kicked just about every show can only go so long and it’s time to move on to a fresh angle.
AAA is going to draw good regardless but having a hot product and some great angles is always a plus.
I think the right path to follow would be HB vs Guapos, and AAA Tecnicos vs Vipers.
I THINK CIBERNETICO NEEDS TO GO TO TNA OR WWE, AND BOY WILL HE OPEN SOME EYES UP
AGREED.
