My cable started breaking up during the main event on both the Saturday and Sunday airings, and rebooted itself during the match on the overnight airing. I got most of the main event when I put it together, except for a time. I might have actually beat Victor for the first time ever if not for my cable.
The concept of the main event seemed to be “the Sect can take out the other Hellbrothers, but Cibernetico could still win because now he’s got Zorro & La Parka Jr. from AAA helping him.” Which is fine, but makes me wonder why Chessman was out there to start. He had to play dumb for the interference to work early until the part where he was laid out, and they end up just doing yet another injury angle that’s not going anywhere.
I actually liked this show watching it, though looking back at it, I’d only recommend the Gran Apache/Air Force match. Was the match I missed from two weeks ago better than this? Becuase this was pretty good, and quickly becoming one of my favorite ongoing feuds in lucha.
I don’t think someone’s made this comment, but I’m sure it’s been thought – it can NOT be a coincidence that Sombra and others CMLL young high fliers started getting a bigger push soon after the Air Force/Gran Apache’s group started showing up on AAA TV. All people in charge of CMLL probably aren’t watching AAA (wrestling promoters not following their competitors TV seems to be universally true, if the even bother to watch their own TV), but I’m sure there’s someone who saw the Air Force stuff and wanted to make to show CMLL doing it better. The timing is too perfect for when they started doing the Gran Apache related stuff.
I know I should be demanding a reason for Psicosis turning and perhaps they’ll give one next week. I’m not sure we need Psicosis to spell it. If you think about it, he’s been teaming with Juvi and Crazy Boy and Joe Lider – the question he needs to answer is what took him so long to turn on that bunch of goofs.
If I never see Hijo de Tirantes teasing a DQ he will never ever call, it’d be too soon. Hatable thing about AAA (and much non-CMLL lucha) #248: referees make themselves far too important and try to steal the spotlight from the wrestlers. Pepe Casas is the only one who stays out of the way.
Thinking back to their promo, maybe the idea is the Payasos will be whatever their opponents aren’t, and change from tecnico to rudo per match. It’s weird, but so was the debut.

Ok, Konnan definately needs to be fired as a booker. This was the worst AAA episode in recent memory. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, Konnan has spent too much time around Vince Russo while in WCW and TNA, and as a result he’s turned into Russo and is killing AAA.
So in the main event we have two guys flapping their gums for about 5 minutes with one guy claiming to be the mesiah, and the other guy claiming to be God, meanwhile their just both nothing more than no-talent losers. Thank goodness the commercial cut them off.
Then with the million man run in, the only thing that barely redeamed this mess was La Parka showing up with Zorro.

What else were you expecting? That they’ll put a mat clinic? Konnan was right at doing that and working around that.
Gotta go with Chui on this one. I’d rather see a good mic segment and a quick 2 minute “match” than a guy who can’t wrestle face a guy who can’t bump due to injury trying to put on a 15 minute match.
Yeah, Konnan is killing AAA which is why they sell-out most of their shows and are pulling some pretty big numbers in the ratings department.
Seriously though . . . I might not like some of the stuff, but it is CRAZY to say Konnan is KILLING AAA.
Hey Daniel, I figured you were from Monterrey or somewhere in Northern Mexico. I guess I was wrong since you watch AAA here in the US on Galavision.
What show aired over there? The one in Morelia?
Yes. We saw Morelia today and yesterday. Same show repeats two days consecutively in the US.
Honestly Cibernetico is turning into the Rock and Banderas into a Triple H Clone(Prove me wrong).
It’s cool to be over but I honestly think Cibernetico has been watching too many DVD’s on the Rock, and Banderas (aka Mesias) well, saying he is Triple H may be harsh, but he has become Mexicos answer to JBL.
I agree about the RFA/Gran Apache group feud
RE: Rob you say you’de rather see a good mic segment than a bad match. The point is that is wasnt’ a godd mic segement. It was stupid. Both guys had done interview segments prior to the match where they got their point across. They didn’t need to waste time afterwards.
To all you guys who are praising Konnan’s style. Watch some old AAA from like 4 years ago and notice the difference. This stuff is going down hill. I mean I understand that it’s typical for MOST internet wrestling fans to praise everything that sucks and bash everything that’s good, but come on, praising this episode is just way too much.
Funny that you mention 4 years ago since it was all about Peña vs Ciber vs Gronda and having some fat kickboxers in to kills some time. Simply compare the Rey de Reyes were they jobbed Latin Lover to Jeff Jarett, to this one where Steiner jobbed to Ciber and Rhyno to Parka-ris… yes, they’re going downhill… (note:sarcasm)
RE: Chui Yeah that stuff was a lot better. Not only was it better due to the content but the way it was presented.(although I will agree that we could do without the fat kickboxers) This past weeks AAA could have been a lot bettre had it been delivered differetnly than having two guys waste time arguing over which one is God and which one is the messiah.
RE: luchalibreenvivo! Just out of curiosity what made you think I lived in Monterrey/Northern Mexico? (I find that interesting)
Then it is a matter of opinion, I for one, think that years were crap, ratings so low that AAA only was given barely over an hour per week and half-house crowds (it looked good compared to CMLL drawing 30% crowds), make it obvious most people think current stuff is better since attendances are way up, ratings skyrocketed and there’s a much bigger buzz about AAA which even helped CMLL came out of their slump.
I don’t want to answer for Keith, but some think that Miguel-Daniel-???-Daniella are the same one, and since “they” talked about attending a IWRG show at Mty…
Nah, Daniel’s on his own IP address.
It also seems like Daniel’s whole argument (repeated a million times over the last couple months) breaks down to…
Latin Lover-centric AAA = awesome
any other AAA = bad
any other AAA which could be taken to obstructing Latin Lover-centeric AAA (Konnan doing Hell Brothers/Legion stuff instead of paying whatever money it takes to get Latin around weekly) = really really really bad
It’s cool to have a favorite guy, but Daniel, you gotta realize, you’re the only one seeing AAA in those terms and no one seems to be coming around to your view point.
You can like what you like, but at some point you ought to deal with the fact that AAA’s not interested in presenting that on a regular basis. I’ve got a upcoming schedule somewhere around here – tune in when Latin’s supposed to appear in Merida, and skip the stuff you already know you don’t like.
(IIRC)Keith made the comment about Daniel=Daniella, but it is nice to know the true. In Mexico, the Merida show with Latin Lover should air this weekend, but in the USA, I guess it will be in about a month.
RE: thecubsfan, first of all thank you for clearing up the fact that I am one guy…not Miguel or a girl named Daniella.
Secondly I realize that nobody on these posts wants to agree with me, but when you consider that this is only a handfull of people, I’ll still say that the majority of the AAA fans in Mexico and abroad will agree with the way I like AAA. I’ll judge this based on how hot the crowds react when it’s done the way I like it, and how you can hear a pin drop for Hell Brothers vs Legion/Secta.
Thirdly, cubs can you tell me what “centric” means because I honestly don’t know. ha ha ha
It is not that no one agrees with you, I don’t like the way they downgraded LLL, but it is not that bad, since they didn’t dissolve it or blew their “offices” or anything, the angle will be back when it needs to.
I don’t think Legion is that bad because they bring guys to be jobbed… compare it to CMLL where they jobbed Atlantis and Bucanero to Mutoh (why?), or how they protect guys like Goto, Minoru Suzuki & Takayama, stupid, imo.
They are drawing good without using Latin Lover, so it is good for them to book him as they do, for now.
Only think I would like to see is being them too centered into the near Mexico City area, lots of Puebla-Tlaxcala, Morelia, or Guanajuato-Hidalgo. They should try to tour less frequently the same areas.
I think it’s overall good for business when you can have two seperate crews to depend on. Some shows can have Latin Lover in the main event against the Vipers and a semi-main with random tecnicos against the Guapos, other shows can have the Hell Brothers against the Secta and a strong semi-main with Elegido, Intocable, etc. against whoever.
It’s always good to have variety on your cards. AAA was made on variety.
For some reason I thought Daniel was from MTY. Must’ve been something you said about attending shows or watching Lucha on TV that made me think you were down there.
This was the first lucha show I have watched for a long time (finally, those of us not in America/Mexico or have access to Lucha might be able to catch AAA through pwtorrents, if the lovely gentleman keeps posting it every week).
Opener: Fun quick opener. Just seemed a bit too quick, but nothing to complain about.
Match2: The TECHNICO Evil Clowns. Lollypop. That was classic. Reading what cubs wrote, I never expected them to be the way they are, and I don’t think they were intended to be Rudo? Hating children, and looking evil, then handing out balloons and wrestling like Technicos. Bizarre.
Match3: the Air Force rock my socks. First time ever seeing these guys in a full match, and not just highlights, and wow. I can’t believe how crisp they are. One of the guys (sorry still a lucha noob) hit a crazy no hand tope suicida which was off the charts. Top match. Highly enjoyable and just constant flow of action.
Match4: La Sect are fun. Mexican Powers… yeah… Nothing really stood out to me, except Joe Lider just seemed so out of place, and everything he did was stupid.
Match5: AHAHA @ Kenzo. Going from the future of New Japan (possibly an IWGP Champ now if he stuck around), to be an absolutely terrible wrestler in a high profile in AAA. Laredo Kid was okay, but didn’t wow me like the rest of the Air Force. Zorro was good. Not much to say about Happy Pants Intocable.
Match6: Given my total lack of Espanol, I skipped the whole introduction and went to the ‘match’. A great brawl by any standards, with some solid heat, but thats about it. Kind of not what I expected in my first Lucha outing, but yeah.
Oh and what I have noticed is the majority of the ‘valets’ are pretty not good looking… Except that blonde haired lass. Anyone got a name on that one?
(Please excuse my Lucha-nubbiness, hard to get Lucha in Australia ;) )
Come on now lets not make Daniel into the Dustin Diamond of the board, y’all LOL.
The Technico Evil Clowns? Oxymoron yes, entertaining yes, is someone in AAA an Insane Clown Posse fan, yes. LOL
Real Fuerza Area or the Air Force, they are the truth. These are guys who you should be pushing and thats real talk. I like the program they are working with Gran Apache and Barrio Boyz Verzion 2.0 and they should challenge for the Atomicos title soon.
One thing I love s that we all have our own opinions whether we agree or not.
I don’t agree with what many say about the Mexican Powers, I like them, yes even Joe Lider and his ring gear which need a makeover.
They aren’t flashy they look like they will kill someone or themselves when they wrestle, but they are as entertaining and over with the crowd than any other wrestler in WWE or TNA.
I think Laredo Kid can be a breakout star in the vein of Mistico. Kenzo Suzuki (Why do the announcers call him Mr Miyagi? LOL.) yes he has fallen, I believe he would have been IWGP Champ had he went back to New Japan, hell he could have been Triple Crown Champion in All Japan.
Sean Waltman (or Six Pack as the announcers call him, LOL) needs to sit down and WATCH a Lucha Libre match. By the way, i’m surprised WWE has not sued him for using the DX music as his theme.
Ciber & Mesias, great feud, but they are starting to, as I said before, turn into the Rock (Ciber) and Triple H (Mesias). Granted I’ve been digging Cibernetico with his whole bad ass gimmick and everything, but some of his promos are starting to resemble the Rock (pick a year).
Lukie, I don’t know what you are smoking, but the valets in AAA are smoking. The Blonde is sexy, but it is one black haired beauty with a perfect 10 body that I would marry in a heartbeat. Put it this way, i’d…nah, I’m gonna keep it clean by ending it, LOL.
RE kdb, you’ll have to explain the Dustin Diomand one to me. (Yeah I know I don’t get a lot right away.)
Take a look at this past Celebrity Fit Club on VH-1 and you will see why I made the correlation.
I wasn’t calling you Dustin, just was saying the board shouldn’t treat you like that pompous self centerd ass.
RE:Chui yeah you’re right “techncally” LLL does still exist because the Legion and Secta are subgroups of LLL, but the casual observer wouldn’t guesse that because the subgroups have become more prominant than the main group. In the past there have always been subgroups in LLL like the Vipers and the X-Team, but the LLL name was always prominant and that’s what gave it that nWo type feel. By downplaying it, the Legion seems just like any other group.
The vallets still come out with a LLL flag, and Tiffany is the ONLY wrestler who still has LLL listed on her name tag graphic. Good for her. She’s not only “representin” LLL but she’s also the sexiest woman in wrestling…period.
