02/09: Mexico

CMLL (FRI) 02/09 Arena Mexico Results [ova, superluchas]
1) Molotov, Sombra de Plata b Carrona, Cobalto
2) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela b Amapola, Medusa, Princesa Sugieth
3) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Blue Panther, Lizmark Jr., Satanico
4) Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila, Terrible b Atlantis, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero
5) Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero b Black Warrior, LA Park, Marco Corelone

Shocker is MIA again, replaced by Dos. Rudos got DQed in the first fall for either excessive violence or Warrior hitting a ref (which is kinda excessive violence). In the second fall, Universo showed up to get Corelone. Park and Warrior cut him off, but it still allowed Dos to get Marco with a German suplex, and Rey beat Warrior to win the match in two falls.

Perro challenged for another trios shot after their win, and it sounds like they’ll be getting it, just not yet.

CMLL lineups are up for next week.

The top two matches are both non-title matches.

Mogur’s facing Virus and Leono on both scheduled appearances, so it’s got be a feud with one of them. Probably Leono.

No AAA results yet.

01/26 Coliseo: Dr. X, Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura b Mascara Purpura, Metro, Virus
02/04 Mexico: Felino, Maximo, Sagrado vs Alex Koslov, Ephesto, Apocalipsis

I screwed up the Gala listings, skipping the 01/15 taping that’s actually airing now.

  1. Waking up to read that Arena Mexico lineup…erm…match… was AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWESOME! Not to mention in two weeks on TV is a Valiente/Hooligan trios match!!! More comments after Henrik chimes in.;)

  2. [Drooling]
    Holy shiiiit!!! :D

Did i forget to tell you all i had a new job booking at Arena Mex? :D

    How good does that sound??
UNIVERSO 2000 V MARCO CORLEONE GODDAMMIT!! WOOHOO!

    ok, maybe not…… :)

Reyes Del aire time again, What an awesome, awesome looking match! Even better this year in that they’ve thrown half a dozen of the best rudos(and in this type of match, maybe more importantly – the best catchers)into the mix which can only be a good thing.

Only 4 matches on the card also, so they are either intending the cibernetico to go long (yay) or they’ll do individual matches, which i hope is not the case, because they probably wouldn’t air the first round.

Now the only thing to worry about is how will it air – in full or clipped, on normal Tv or GdR….

Man, this match could be awesome beyond words, they’d better not fuck it up by giving them 20 minutes, or butchering it

It will be interesting to see who wins it too. Volador, ‘Him’ and Sagrado would be the top guys, but all of them have won Cibernetico’s before and don’t really need the rub. One of the rudos would probably be favourite if it was just an ordinary Cibernetico, but as it’s hyped as the ‘Reyes Del Aire’, i really can’t see them going with a rudo win – it may well be an underdog. So it certainly makes things pretty intriguing.

And what about next Sundays Segunda too?? And the Metron match airing on GdR?!

This is a weird weekend in that it might turn out to be the worst weekend of the year for what’s airing, but the lineups for next week have more than made up for however shitty this weeks show inevitably will be! :)

  3. Yeah, i’m trying to find a website that shows this XEJTV, but every feed i get is just still pictures refreshing every couple of seconds. At least you get to see whats airing. They didn’t seem to advertise anything more than what they would on the standard 1:45hr episodes. And from reading Ocampos report, the semi and main lasted about 15 minutes combined! – which is pathetic :(

i don’t mind the odd week like this with the women airing though – as long as they’re consistent and keep showing the Coliseo segundas when they become awesome again!

  4. Oh fuck, who gives a shit about Texano and Negro casas in japan.

And was that a clip of the tercera i saw too? :(

  5. Looks like with the extra time we’re gonna get a Negro Casas/Hijo Del Texano tag match from Japan. *L* Well at least they’re reaching out to the gay community with the extra time. Trying to steal away AAA’s audience perhaps?

  6. Since the tercera just started with 2 hours left, I’m giving up since it’ll be the normal 3 match show after this ends except instead of the sometimes fun opener, it’ll be Negro and his current ring boy.:)

  7. It ended being a 2 women match show… + a match from NJPW from last year… the interesting thing is that they said that the next show they’ll had the tat title match challenge by Casas/TxJr… so I assume it’ll be another 3 hour show which should give them enough room to air the Reyes del Aire in full…

  8. With a 4 match show where the main event has no chance of going over 10 minutes in total, you would think the Torneo will have to get at least 30 minutes if they intend to make it a 2 hour show for the live audience.

  9. Just looking at next weeks card again, and i’m wondering if anyone can ever remember another Arena Mex card in the past with absolutely no top tecnicos appearing on it?
