02/03: Mexico, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 02/02 Arena Mexico Results [ova, Notimex]
1) Flash, Super Nova b Artillero, Super Comando
2) Mascara Purpura, Texano Jr., Virus b Arkangel, Hooligan, Loco Max
3) Averno, Mephisto, Sangre Azteca b Lizmark Jr., Maximo, Ultimo Dragon
4) La Mascara, Mistico, Volador Jr. b Damian 666, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero, Shocker b Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Ultimo Guerrero

I’m not 100% sure about the 3 undercard results.; I’ve got the match results confirmed thru a second source.

Again, Universo appeared despite being hurt. He helped defeat Corleone, though it was Shocker’s foul that actually did it. They’re still teasing Marco as a tecnico.

Mistico beat Perro with La Mistica to win that match, and they made mask/hair challenges. CMLL thinks we might actually see that match in March for the usual big show. That’d be pretty big (and quite the counter to WWE’s tour.)

Maximo busted open Averno in the tercera, which is odd because no one bleeds in CMLL. Averno was stretched out as well. Nothing on Sangre/Ultimo.

GdR has
unmasked: Dark Angel
01/19 Mexico: Dark Angel, India Sioux, Luna Magica b Amapola, Princesa Sujei, Rosa Negra
01/28 Coliseo: Felino, Mictlan, Negro Casas b Ephesto, Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura

  1. Next weeks cards up and lineups are weird and pretty shitty in general!

Fortunately it shouldn’t be too bad for Tv as the top 2 Arena Mex matches look the strongest – although i’m surely not the only one who’s just a little bit fed up of Guerrreros V Perros? Midcard looks awful.

Coliseo Sunday however – Mogur in the tercera??? W.T.F?? He hasn’t been seen in about 2 years, when he was was never any higher than coliseo segundas. Who next if this decrepid old fossil is back? – Guerrero del Futuro? Reyes Veloz?

Nitro and Arkengel are surprisingly high up the card but i don’t mind that as they’re OK. I wonder if the national trios titles are maybe on the line with that match making the semi-main.

And los Dos Tigres and Ramstein in the segunda are always a plus. As is there being no sign of Fabian El Gi-fucking-tano!
And valiente in a tercera is pretty neat even if it is not on TV. i hope he’s found his kid ok. Oh.. and Ogun’s hanging around again :(

Also, was Dick Togo not due in CMLL around now?

  2. Averno busted open Maximo in the tercera, which is odd because no one bleeds in CMLL. Nothing on Sangre/Ultimo.

Even odder is that Maximo BUSTED OPEN Averno, not the other way around acording to the Ovaciones report.

  3. Mogur was a definite WTF moment. But a betting man would say he’s back to do a Mario Prado/Americo Rocca(both to Ricky Marvin) type deal where he loses his hair to Leono and announces his retirement post hair-loss.

  4. I just wanted to thank you all for the lucha talk that goes on here (keeping me up to date and excited about things to come) and cubs for all the work. I am very excited for some footage to start arriving soon with Artillero y Super Comando in the mix – a GREAT way to start off ’07 (maybe we’ll get lucky and see some Freelance vs. Avisman stuff from IWRG too, though I’m not holding my breath). Here is what I have about Togo (taken from someplace, maybe here a while back), though I wasn’t able to re-confirm it any place today (hoping it still happens):

Dick Togo announced today that he would leaving on a tour of Mexico on 2/13 and that he would be taking Hayate along with him. Togo is putting together a tour for his fan club and they would be able to see him & Hayate work shows along with touring some historic monuments and enjoying some shopping. Togo & Hayate will be there from 2/15 to 2/20 and they are expecting to work the Arena Mexico show on 2/16 and Arena Coliseo show on 2/18 (and hopefully IWRG on 2/15 as Hayate’s student Daisuke Sasaki worked there some last fall!).

*who can’t wait to see more than pictures of the Aloha World Order debut (being a huge Togo fan, Prince Togo in this case)

  5. Cheers for the info KDB

If only Zeta wasn’t inured, we could have had a Hayate/Komachi/Yamabiko trio at Arena Mex! :)

Did the Comando/Ramstein match air yesterday Rob?
