AAA: Cage match between the Hell Brothers and the Dark Family

not really sure what’s going on the satellite shows

CAN52: maybe they’ll continue showing the Leono stuff here? And then another opening match from Mexico?

FSE: and then semi and main event here? Who knows.

AAAMexico: Hell Brothers vs Vipers, 3 on 4

CMLLMexico: Mistico vs Perro

02/28: Monterrey, Tijuana, Neza

CMLL updated their site, but didn’t post Tuesday results yet. Ovaciones covers the Arena Mexico lineup change and has an interview with Super Muneco about the upcoming mask match.

5) Axel, Black Draogn, Golden Boy vs Hijo de Espanto II, Pancho Tequila, Potro Jr.
6) Rayo de Jalisco vs Konnan Big, Hijo de Solitario, Hijo de Anibal [hair, mask, FILL HEAVY]

Okay, Konnan Big must’ve lost the match versus Rayo where Rayo put up the FILL Heavy and Konnan Big put up his hair, because Rayo’s been champ since. But if Konnan Big is putting up his hair here – that means he didn’t get shaved either, right? That wouldn’t be the first time for Konnan Big and this group.

I’d presume Rayo’s dropping the title back here and probably finishing up with this group soon. There’s some talk they might do a Rayo/Solitario mask match eventually, but no one’s losing their mask here.

There’s more about upcoming big shows here on lo mejor de lucha (scroll down to RFC’s 02/28 post.)

03/02 Arena Mexico lineup change

(poster via Alexis)

Mistico/Perro is added as the main event. Volador Jr. replaces Mistico in the semimain.

This would seem to indicate to me that the mask/hair match is set, but feel free to speculate what this means to Mistico, Perro, WWE, CMLL, and the price of tea in China, in the comments.

02/27: Misterio, Puebla, Guadalajara, Naucalpan, AULL

La Presna confirms parts of the Rey de Reyes lineup. Rey Misterio will be there (only because it’s supposed to be a benefit for Konnan), and the main event is Cibernetico, Charly Manson, and Chessman vs Scott Steiner, “another one of TNA”, and “another surprise” – the last is surely Kenzo, since that’s what has been mentioned elsewhere.

CMLL (MON) 02/26 Arena Puebla
1) SWAT, the Tigre, Zigma b Fuerza Chicana, Murcielago, Siki Ozama
2) Mini Damian, Mini Halloween, Mini Mr. Aguila b Asturiano, Blue Center, Ultimo Dragoncito

4) Alex Koslov, Ultimo Dragon, Volador Jr. b Efesto, Mephisto, Terrible
5) Averno b Mistico [CMLL MIDDLE]

Averno fouled Mistico and got the pin.

5) Avisman & Black Terry b Cerebro Negro & Freelance [losers advance]
6) Cerebro Negro b Freelance [IWRG WELTER]

No explaination why Cerebro Negro and Suicida switched spots. Dandy and Villano III busted each other open, with a beer bottle coming into play at the finish. Coco Blanco got eliminated in the final fall of the tercera, but snuck back in and fouled Kid Tiger to help his team win.

There’s a new Halcon up! #86
– Interview with Blue Demon Jr.
– Q&A with Espiritu Guerrero, who has a cool mask
– Bio of El Hlacon
– Interview with Princesa Blanca – she says she’s back in AAA. She is? I read this wrong, never mind.
– Fact sheet on Explosivo.
– The history of the original el Halcon

I like the new design.

El Siglo de Torreon has an article on the 03/01 Wagner show.

El Occidental has a bio of Rayo de Jalisco Sr.

El Sol de Tampico hypes up Guerrera Negra.

Guerreros del Ring #76 has Solar.

AAA #613

taped 01/20, aired in the US on 02/17. We’re going back to phony episode numbers because they amuse me.

So the big thing about the Scoria/Espiritu vs Pegasso/Super Fly match was I had the result wrong for a month. The lesser thing is the Hell Brothers apparently meant to light a table on fire before Cibernetico chokeslammed Espiritu thru it, only they couldn’t get it to light. I bet Espiritu was not disappointed.

That was the only non screw job finish of the night.

I can’t believe the first spot AAA aired of Mr. Niebla was him blowing a spot. That’s so perfectly triple a, it has to be fake.

I didn’t get into this show much at all and was glad for it to be over. The best thing on the show might have been Apache being pelted with fruits and vegetables.

Eagle eye posters will note that I’m now onto the current AAA show. If I recap it this week, I’ll be caught up for the firs time since I started to do AAA recaps. I dunno if I will.
