CMLL (FRI) 01/05 Arena Mexico Results [Super Luchas, Galeno de Mal, ovaciones]

The cheap kids tickets filled up the arena, which telegraphs the main event finish. Check out the fall times for the main event, via Ocampo

Uh huh. You can guess the finish, and it reads like a good match. Mistico challenged for the mask match again, and Averno was so frustrated, he accepted – but for the CMLL Middleweight Title match. That’s not on the schedule for next week, or at least so far.

Alexis posted the 01/12 lineup on box y lucha, and it’s off season-ish with no ongoing issues (though I can make up a few things.) Sangre and Koslov make it all the way up to the semimain (unless they ARE doing Mistico/Averno and they’re bumped down to a more reasonable spot.)

Other notes: Ultimo Guerrero fouled Dr. Wagner to draw the DQ in the semimain…Amapola had Lady Apache rolled up for the win in the second match (with a little help from the ropes), but Marcela turned over the pin. Amapola’s still looking for a title shot…Mini Damian yanked Tzuki’s mask to get the DQ in the opener.

It’s pretty impressive that I’m typing this, because I’m currently losing my mind. 12/22 was the taping that was never aired – except they absolutely positively had to go back to make sure we got our weekly match with those goofs (and not, say, just air the Volador/Averno match!) And that’s a Coliseo match which has like a 5% of being any good – did they save the main event for the non-existent FSE show? And the story of Black Warrior being unmasked, we sure haven’t heard about that any time recently, nooooo.

Why? Why? Is this spite? I’m sorry for whatever I did. Please stop.

Edit: Actually, that match is the same one they aired last week. Why? That makes even less sense.

  5. Don’t worry Cubs, next week you won’t see Fabian b/c he’s on regular CMLL TV right now. I would have marked out a couple years back if I heard Ramstein was getting a TV match. Now I’m pissed his match is airing…

  6. Any trio out of fabian El Gitano/Leono/Texano/Tony Rivera is about the most boring, uninteresting one imaginable just now. But this week if that match is airing, i assume it’s at the expense of La Familia De Casas V La Familia De Tijuana, so it’s no big loss.

    Might also mean that next week we get Tigre Blanco, Starman and Ramstein, and in a fortnight we get Flash/Super Nova/Sensei V Los Guillereros/Zayko.

    Of course, if it goes back to that format, we’ll be gutted when the next Arena Mex segunda of sometihng like Metron/Virus/Stuka V Sangre/Misterioso/Koslov doesn’t air because of showing Coliseo matches.

    What makes you think they won’t be airing it? Wouldn’t be the first time they air a repeat on GdR… would it?

    They aired 4 matches, first one being the ladies… I didn’t watch them since AULL is being broadcasted at the same time…

  8. Ladies aired? Show was supposed to start at 6pm my time but when I turned in the Fabian match was in progress. Which ladies match was it?

    Well, I guess that you let the kid enter for free to see that finish… so… yep, that was it…

    Show started earlier, was the ladies match from yesterday… I was watching the first hour of AULL but it was SOOOOO bad that I prefered to tune into Gala for the CMLL show even if I’m getting it in the week…

  11. If they could just settle on the format of 4 matches in 2hrs of normal CMLL TV, there would never be another anxious wait to see if certain matches are going to air – because we’d see them all and there would be no problems at all!

    It’s been said so often, but 3 short matches in 1:45 hrs is nothing short of farcical. A few years back, you sometimes even got 5 matches, without major clippage.

    Did they show that dive from Flash on momentos?

  13. They didn’t show the Flash dive but they showed Caligula/Messala killing him with an awesome dual dropkick on the ramp spot which is ten times better than any dive.:) Crowd popped too.
