CMLL FSE - 11/12/06 (#14)
Recapped: 03/29/07-04/07/07
Announcers are clowning around in a museum for the open.
Unmasked: Ultraman 2000.
Match 1: La Mascara (c), Satanico, Virus vs Emilio Charles Jr., Hombre sin Nombre, Pierroth (c)
Arena Coliseo, 11/05/06
Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:11
Approx Rating: Eh.
Other Match Notes: Entrances. Emilio wears his hoodie out to the ring
with the top up, and he's going to keep it up. Pierroth looks to have gained ten
pounds. He handles the prematch promo. Monito is out with Satanico - wait, what?
Now they've got me thinking about a Satanico mini. They really need to do that.
La Mascara has his title belt and a white/aqua outfit I don't recall seeing him
wear before. It looks good.
1: Rudos jump the tecnicos after La Mascara there. Emilio drops his hood at some point, but there's no big reveal of his bald head. La Mascara is probably just has a normal athletic body, but he looks so thin in with this crew. Everyone has larger frames. Monito tries to get involved, so he gets pulled in for an Emilio legdrop, and then Pierroth belts him some. Typical old guy beatdown - measured (slow), a lot more targeted punches and kicks and few holds.
2: Rudos all in the ring, tecnicos all in the apron, everyone watching as Pierroth picks up Monito - and Monito kicks him low. Satanico and Emilio start the fall proper, with Satanico going for a hair pull, but that can't work on bald Emilio. Emilio celebrates a little too much and gets clotheslined in the back of the head. Satanico ends up yanking Emilio around by his goatee. Virus and HsN next. Virus ends up armdragging him out and getting Emilio with the sunset flip roll thru dropkick. Pierroth and La Mascara are the latest pair - Pierroth does corner whips, which is odd, because it means he'll have to run corners himself. Mascara gives him ad rope, and Emilio an enziguri - Emilio's gum goes flying on impact, and Pierroth helpfully retrieves it for him off the floor. Satanico and Emilio together again, and quickly to Satanico pulling Emilio off the ropes into a powerbomb for the pin. La Mascara tries a dropkick on Pierroth, can't get him over, but Virus adds a dropkick to make it work. Monito gets in a second rope butt splash on Emilio.
Promo: Groon XXX. Oh no.
3: Match feels out of order - it turns back into a beatdown, focused on belt shots. Satanico ducks the second set on him, Emilio took it instead, and the comeback started at about 2:20. Revenge spots included even Monito getting in a shot. Rudos took back control as the refs were getting Monito out of there. Pierroth got in a low bow on Satanico - at least we think he did, the camera cut away at the wrong time - and that turned it around for the rudos.
Match 2: Atlantis (c), Eclipse, Ultimo Guerrero vs Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr. (c), Groon XXX
Arena Coliseo, 11/05/06
Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:38
Approx Rating: Could've been worse.
Other Match Notes: Magadan tours over Groon XXX in the pre-match promo.
Groon explains he's the best wrestler in Mexico. RIGHT.
1: Wagner wants to start the match with Atlantis, but Atlantis runs for the hills. Meanwhile, Ultimo and Eclipse bump for Groon, including the most forced headscissors/headlock double takeover spot ever. Announcers talk about Silver King for some reason. Atlantis and Wagner do end up in the ring together, Wagner dropkicking Atlantis out and following with an apron tope con giro. Eclipse and Ultimo run into more moves from Groon, and that's it.
2: When they show the full screen 2nd fall graphic, with the inset picture of action going on - it's actually the action going on from the first match. That's a goof. In this match, rudos start attacking Dos in a group, but it goes back to one one one (and corner poses with him and Eclipse.) Dos takes some chops, gets in his enziguri. Headscissors on Ultimo, superkick on Atlantis, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Ultimo. Eclipse takes another chance with corner shots on Dos, but ends up taking a monkey flip (very baldly-, not turning over much.) Dos does the thru the ropes fakeout, and it leads to a triple tecnico pose. Wagner stays into pose, and the rudos jump him. Atlantis finishes Wagner off clean, and then goes for the mask.
In between fall is cut out.
3: Beatdown continues. Corner charges for Wagner, including a headstand sit. Wagner and Atlantis go the outside, while Eclipse and Ultimo work ovre Dos (and Groon is MIA.) Dos has a some sort of brace on his right elbow. He sides steps an Eclipse charge to start the comeback. Groon's turns up right when it's time to get in offense again. It's probably for the best he doesn't try to sell, but he shouldn't try to do short punches either, based on what they look like here. Dos takes Ultimo around the outside, and rams him into a picture of a Dos Caras mask. Wagner works over Atlantis on the inside, going after his mask. Eclipse and Groon - stand on the apron and do nothing, and that's also for the best. Wagner gets Atlantis' mask all the way off, multiple times, and they tease showing his face. Wagner stops messing with the mask, gives Atlantis a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and dropkicks him up. Eclipse and Ultimo cut him off before he can dive, but Groon and Dos bounce them around. Double clotheslines take them out, Ultimo and Eclipse yank out Groon, Groon rams the rudos into each other, and Dos adds a springboard double clothesline to the floor. He nearly lost his balance on that springboard, it was a bit worrisome for a minute. Captains back in, with one ref checking on the guys on the floor. Atlantis gets a 'rana, Wagner rolls thru, Atlantis gets up and tries a clothesline, Wagner ducks it, and the ref takes it. Atlantis yanks Wagner's mask, Wagner throws his head up in shock, Atlantis cradles him and holds on as the ref counts.
Wagner talks after the match, but we see replays instead of paying attention to him. We return just in time for Atlantis' counter point - he wants a title vs title match. Well, yea, that's not happening.
That's it.
