AAA Short Line - 09/23/06
Recapped: 10/10/06

Promo: Paranoica breaths deeply and is an America fan. Chiva I seems more confident...

Match 1: Paranoica vs Chiva Rayada I in a quarterfinal of the dream tournament
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 08/17/06

Winner: Chiva Rayada I (via inverted figure four)
Match Time: 4:26
Notes: They shake hands before the match. Short okay match.

Promos: Kamoa Jr. and Super Fly don't have much to say.

Match 2: Kaoma Jr. vs Super Fly in a quarterfinal of the dream tournament
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 08/17/06

Winner: Kaoma Jr. (belly to back piledriver)
Match Time: 4:12
Notes: Better than the previous, but still not much there. Announcers are sure that's an illegal finish

Promos: Mr. Condor tells us that he's the best. No Laredo Kid?

Match 3: Mr. Condor vs Laredo Kid in a quarterfinal of the dream tournament
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 08/17/06

Winner: Laredo Kid via 450 splash.
Match Time: 7:30
Other Match Notes: This is longer, but some of it's Condor stalling, and some of it's a bit where Condor low blows Laredo Kid and then fakes one himself, so the ref doesn't know what's up. Laredo Kid leads the world in most flips down for no reason, and can't land anything clean here - he clocks Mr. Condor with his legs on multiple moves, and he's down a long time after Laredo's finish (which actually ends up being more of a 450 headbutt to the sternum - I don't know how Laredo Kid isn't hurt on that.)

Promo: Aliens and Mungo talk the interviewer - too bad we can't understand the Alien language. Kriper flies by.

Match 4: Mungo (c), Alliens, Kripter vs Alebrije (c), Elegido, Super AAA
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 08/17/06

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 11:51
Other Match Notes: Aliens wastes no time trying to get Cuije and Madrox to fight. Rudos attack the tecnicos right after entrances. Madrox and Cuije stay in like they're supposed to be there, and maybe they are. Alebrije ducks a bad double clothesline to get the comeback at 3:00, and things are down to one on ones :40 later. Elegido can't do much, but they're well aware and try to keep him protected. Better match than the rematch turns out to be, with Madrox sneaking in a low blow when Alebrije had Mungo up in a tapatia. Aliens adds the splash for the three count.

Noti AAA:
-
Annual charity show. Didn't I make fun of this last year? Assuming this was that show
- Central American tour hype
- Flash Back: oh god, it's the Konnan backstage at TNA promo again. Hey Sabu, you probably shouldn't be still in this. Neither should Austin Aries. Jarrett is such a geek. Also, Traci and Christy
- Estrellita talks about her relationship with Cibernetico. Why is she wearing a big hat for an indoors interview? She's not friends with Tiffany, but they'll fight together to defends Mexico from those TNA harlots. I'm assuming she said harlot.

Promo: The Mexican Powers. They blue screen is a street screen, to pretend as if they're not in the same blue screen room as all show. Joe Lider's the missing one here. Anyway, they want some belts.

Match 5: Chessman, Cuervo, Ozz, Scoria vs Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera (c), Psicosis II in a Mexican National Atomicos Championship match
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 08/17/06

  1. Mexican Powers
  2. Dark Family
  3. Dark Family
    1. Ozz middle rope Styles Clash Crazy Boy (4:04)
    2. Escoria pin Juvi (4:04)

Winner: Dark Family (2-1)
Match Time: 5:31
Other Match Notes:
Joined in progress, in the second fall.

2: The Dark Family wants nothing to do with Chessman, and shove him away from participating. Juvi's the captain, but they keep beat the other two with a powerbomb and a leg submission too. The Dark Family doesn't want Chessman's arm raised. He gets it raised anyway, which gets a big pop. Replays of stuff we didn't see shows that it was Chessman who turned it around for the rudos, yet the Dark Family is teasing leaving.

3: Rudos still in firm control despite the tease of leaving. Dark Family has a double submission and are moments from a win, but Cuervo and Chessman get in a shoving match. They rush to the ropes for whatever reason, and get yanked out. Juvi breaks up the double submission, and Lider and Psicosis get in dives on the two outside. Crazy Boy and Juvi (eventually) set Ozz and Cuervo up for top rope moves - Crazy clearly misses the moonsault, Juvi's seconds behind and spikes Ozz in the face with a knee. I'm so glad I'm not a wrestler. Chessman and Cuervo break up the pins, but they're still having Issues. And then they just agree not to agree, and we miss a turning point watching replays. Juvi and Crazy's high tech offense here is horrendous. Ozz ends up giving Crazy Boy a middle rope Styles Clash, and we don't see what happens with Escoria and Juvi, but it's something similar. Champs retain, although they're still having issues with Chessman.

Dark Family rips off Chessman's Sect shirt, but the director is focusing on the belts being handed out instead. The Dark Family refuses to give him his belt back. The fans are chanting for Chessman - I can't believe this goes on for a month's worth of TV tapings after this.

Interview: Scorpio Jr. Again, a blue screen trying to look not like a blue screen - is it cheaper this way? The interviewer mentions Shocker's in the group but also says Scorpio's the leader - either I'm confused by this timeline, or they're purposely fudging it. Anyway, Scorpio's in the middle of explaining how the upcoming competition is no competition - Zorro's a loon since he got the mask put on, Porky's nothing - and Super Porky rushes in to attack him. Porky gets in a thumbs up before he leaves and Scorpio angrily retorts.

Match 6: Zumbido, Scorpio Jr. (c), Alan Stone vs Oriental, Zorro, Super Porky (c)
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 08/17/06

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 13:29
Other Match Notes: Scorpio Jr. looks like Shocker during his entrance, but that's because they've got the lights turned off. The girls go crazy when Alan Stone is introduced, but I'm thinking a good 80% of that is because it's Intocable's music. But they do still scream for him when they realize who he is. Alan proves the universal truth: "Singing Along To Your Own Music = Greatness." Scorpio breaks something over Porky's head at the in-ring dancing (the girls having been warned to move out of the way), and we're off and bleeding.

Watching this episodes backwards, which I'm doing somewhat because the oldest episodes I haven't seen are stored on my computer and are still in the process of being moved back to the TiVo, I think I've figured out the hidden reason Porky jumped. Porky can get humor from his Super Porky spots, but he can (or at least he doesn't think he can) get the sympathetic reactions unless he's allowed to bleed, and CMLL's a no-bleeding zone right now. That'd at least explain way they've made sure he's been busted open in all of these matches. He's bleeding here, and Scorpio is biting it to make it bigger. Ah, it was Alan's mirror that Scorpio used! Bad luck for everyone! Lots and lots of brawling, before Porky turns the tide by running over people with his gut around 7:40. Revenge spots everywhere - the tecnicos have to get three minutes of brawling. Scorpio bleeds, of course.  Porky quickly goes to just putting Scorpio in a hold till the kids get back form battling on the entranceway, and they take over in the ring. Oriental's one no all runs with a tope on Zumbido which causes them both to crash into the announcer's booth. That was pretty impressive, though Arturo Rivera looks to be hurting. After the others do four minutes of back and forth and some highflying (including an Oriental moonsault to the floor), Scorpio and Porky end up in, and Scorpio low blows Porky with in ten seconds. Ref didn't see it, so it's good for the win.

I thought Scorpio was bleeding, but it's not visible after the match. Eh. He and Porky take turn talking about things I've seen and haven't seen.

Interview: Charly Manson. Who's he with? The Sect? Vipers Revolution? Charly puts on a Cibernetico shirt, so I guess that sort of answers it.

Match 7: Abismo Negro, Charly Manson, Muerte Cibernetica (c) vs Intocable, La Parka Jr. (c), Octagon
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 08/17/06

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 14:37
Other Match Notes: Would you let Charly Manson hold your child? I wouldn't, that's for sure. No offense dude, but you're CHARLY MANSON. Vipers are Sect are getting along here, so I guess it's not quite a big deal what side Charly's on for right now. Someone's gets their sign with a web address up, but they didn't spell the web address right! That's a shame. They lead cheers for the kid Charly Manson's holding (who's got Charly Manson white face paint) - is he a Teleton kid? Possibly. Rudos go on the attack as soon as the captain's announced.

Abismo makes some new fans by pushing Intocable in the laps of some ladies sitting in the front row. There may have been some groping. Rudos crotch everyone around the post till they get to La Parka Jr., and the other tecnicos break it up, turning the tide around 5:00. Intocable gets Abismo's mask untied, and it comes off a bit  a couple times. Tecnicos in-ring runs start around 7 - first up is Intocable, then Oriental (much shorter), then La Parka. It's weird to think about how little Oriental does, and yet at the same time, he's actually hear to give credibility to the matches. It breaks down after La Parka's section, when everyone getting in and out. Octagon and Intocable get stalling submission for Muerte and Parka to do their finish - and Parka powerbombs Muerte. Referrers studiously ignore that pin. Ozz is out, Parka socks him before he gets in. Same for Cuervo and Escoria, but by the time Parka gets back to Muerte, he's recovered enough for a low blow. As usual, Hijo de Tirantes teases changing his mind but does not.

Chessman wanders out to lead the crowd in chats for - actually, I'm not sure. Muerte dispatches the Dark Family to run off Chessman, but Charly takes his side, and there's a standoff. Chessman and Charly elect to leave. I think that's Abismo who bugs the announcers about something or other. Meanwhile, Alan Stone rushes in and attacks Intocable. Octagon does his trademark bit - watch and do nothing. Alan gets out of town before anything more can happen - wait, now, he's back to do more. Intocable gets nothing in, and this is so compelling, it's break time.

When we're back, Muerte demands a title match with La Parka Jr., to prove he's the best wrestler in Mexico. He doesn't specify a title. La Parka Jr. knows all the titles he has! He lists them - Tag, Cruiserweight, or Monster - Muerte can take his pick. Muerte's shocked La Parka has three titles, and I think he complains about the "Only Mexicans can fight for Mexicans national titles", questioning the abilities of Mexicans in general, which leads to a shoving match with Parka. Intocable gets on the microphone to say something we never hear, because it's time for the show ending video package.

That's it.
