CMLL GdR - 07/15/06 (#34)
Thru the show, they talk to Dr. Wagner, who gets dressed in a black featureless mask.
Match 1: Hijo del Pierroth, Misterioso II, Olimpico (c)
vs La Mascara (c), Sagrado, Volador Jr.
Arena Coliseo, 07/09/06
Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:58
Approx Rating: Eh.
Other Match Notes: La Mascara & Sagrado both have their belts.
1: Seemed as thought hey cut out some early stuff, and we started with La Mascara/Pierroth mat, which was so good. Sagrado and Misterioso started some stuff, but the beatdown kicked in at about 2 minutes. Volador never took off his t-shirt; guess he's going to get it ripped. Hijo de Pierroth and Olimpico do a double hanging suplex on La Mascara, with Olimpico doing 85% of the work.
2: Hey, they ripped Volador's shirt. Rudos lamely misses a corner charge on La Mascara to start the sidestep. La Mascara and Volador have a double superkick spot now, and they really shouldn't. We need put an embargo on HBK tapes to Mexico already. Quick turn around to the Campana.
3: Sagrado looks good against Misterioso to start, and does the up and over the ropes spot almost perfect. Volador and Hijo de Pierroth. Pierroth has been hitting the tanning bed hard this week. This one doesn't get going before Olimpico gets Volador from the outside, Volador sells it and then superkicks Olimpico as he's coming in, but Olimpico can't really sell it because he's coming in. Timing, not so good. Volador clears the ring with headscissors and armdrags- one more for Misterioso, when him doing a lot of work. Volador teases the dive - no Asai? Mascara and Olimpico, but first they must pose. The dueling pose spot is one when it's far more interesting in public than on TV, and there's no real payoff - they just start wrestling. Mascara gets his twisting headscissors to send Olimpico out with in 10 seconds (much shorter than the posting) and levels Olimpico with a tope. Volador tries to go up and over on Misterioso, and he should know better than to go up and over on a man with a Gory Special. You're dead. Hijo de Pierroth kinda sorta catches Sagrado on a missile dropkick and powerbombs (well, drops) him before putting in the finishing hold.
Rudos cut promos post, because they really got time to kill this week. VIVA PUERTO RICO. And then tecnicos get to talk.
Vignette: Rudos discuss the next match. "VIP - Very Important Person". Thanks, Magadan. It's greatly funny for Atlantis to be Tarzan's best friend. Ultimo makes sure to hype the title match and the surprise Guerrero. They talk about the man's physique - I THINK IT'S GRONDA. Maybe not.
Vignette: and then we get a tecnico. We so could've got a third match this week. Wagner gives his stamp of approval to Rey, for what's that worth. It almost seems like Wagner talks about Rey's title match than Rey does. Alas.
Match 2: Atlantis (c), Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero vs
Dr. Wagner Jr. (c), Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero
Arena Coliseo, 07/09/06
Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:15
Approx Rating: Not so good.
Other Match Notes: Wagner has the belt, which is good since we saw it
during the vignettes and all. Wagner holds up a kid in a Wagner mask. Ultimo
jumps Rey when he enters, so the fight is on before Mr. Niebla can even enter.
He sees Atlantis coming, and still gets dropped. Niebla's left shoulder is
slightly taped.
1: As you might imagine, rudo beatdown. Atlantis chokes Niebla with his ring jacket and rips up his mask pretty good. Announcers note these two used to be trios champions together. Rey Bucanero takes the corner move combo. Dr. Wagner is brought in for Tarzan's missile dropkick, though it takes them a while to decide to do that. Niebla tries to come in, but Atlantis slaps him out, an then gives Wagner the Atlántida.
Tarzan Boy does this week's PSA. I don't what to say.
2: Clip to start this fall - we pick up with Wagner rallying from crowd chants, but still being worked over by Ultimo. Focus on Atlantis and Niebla again, as Atlantis messes with the little that's left of Niebla mask. Rudos aren't on the same page with what to do with him, but do get together on a triple boot. Rey in and being worked on, and Wagner's screwing with the rudos fans, I believe. Crowd chant for Wagner while Rey takes the GdI sit. Wagner in, and being bounced around with punches. HE stops to pose, and Atlantis lifts him up on his shoulders - Ultimo knocks him down for a electric chair suplex. Slingshot setup for Tarzan's walking the middle ropes legdrop. Guerreros huddle. Niebla back in? He gets backed in the corner before he can do anything. Rudos talking too much to each other here. Niebla tires to rally for the three people chanting for him. GdI sit again - no, Tarzan gets pulled out, Ultimo going to help him and gets beat, and Atlantis is left alone for Niebla. We see more of the outside fights first, but Niebla is ripping up Atlantis' mask when we return back there. All three come in to work over Atlantis, with Wagner and Rey almost dying when Wagner tires to boost Rey into his rope sit on Atlantis. Pose! You can't get hut that way. And quick to the finish. Atlantis opts to hide. Rey wants to rip Ultimo's masks, but it's quite sturdy, Ultimo's blocking it, and Rey's getting warned. He gets it some.
3: Some of the inbetween clipped? Surely now we're running short on the time. We pick up with Ultimo and Rey. Rey evades, but eventually gets clotheslined. Chop, Ultimo misses a clothesline, Rey flips out of a side slam and comes back with an the spinning headscissors. Ultimo hides out, Rey slips past him and ends up getting a handstand headscissors. Pose. Clip? Niebla and Atlantis. Atlantis has a new mask on, with his old mask shreds around his neck. Niebla still has his messed up one. Atlantis works over Niebla, and gives high tens to his team. POSE. Whip, head down too soon, Niebla a second late coming back to kick him. Slap doesn't even look good. Atlantis jumps up and forearms him. Corner whip, Niebla moves, Atlantis hides the corner, and charges out into a hiptoss. They totally get lost for a second, and eventually settle on Atlantis chopping Niebla into dancing. Here's the slap, and it's still not so good. Ultimo into boot Niebla out, Wagner in to roar and charge - into a double drop toe hold. Rey gets knocked down, but ducks a double clothesline to hit the boosted up dropkick on Tarzan (sorta). Ultimo takes the knee bump out, and , and Rey hits a tornillo (I think) on Ultimo. Wagner follows with him apron tope con giro. Niebla and Atlantis back in. They both either duck a clothesline or duck at the same time - whoa. Atlantis gets a while and a backdrop. Pose. Atlantis winds up for a mighty punch, but Niebla catches the arm and warps him up in a grounded crucifix one two three. Atlantis has a delayed reaction on losing. Ultimo is down on the outside, but we ignore that to pay attention to Niebla/Atlantis. Niebla wants a title match - Atlantis promises to go down to his level to give him a match, I think.
That's it.
