AAA Mini Line - 06/24/06

We skipped a week of TV here. This is the Gran Traicion show;

Interview: Angel Mortal talks about facing Fuerza Aeria. That's next!

Match 1: Némesis, Rey Cometa (c), Super Fly vs Ángel Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Cóndor (c)
Plaza de Toros, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, 03/04/06

Winner: Fuerza Aeria
Match Time: 9:26
Notes: Super Fly is indeed spelled "Super Flay" here, but it's pronounced Super Fly so whatever. This is a rematch form the previous week. Ref is Tropicasas.

I think it's Nemesis who gets a quick run and flashy moves, but Condor and company quickly switch to a beatdown, and do a fine job of destroying the tecnicos. They probably should skip the chair spot; the other stuff looked better, and they just whipped a guy into someone else holding a chair. Of course, while showing replays of that, they miss the comeback spot. Way to be AAA. The problem with doing a 450 Splash as part of that comeback melee, which Rey Cometa does here, is you end up laying on top of the guy in the ring, yet the match isn't over and you're not supposed to pin him. It looks really dumb when you just get up and walk away, which is Cometa does here. Someone's gotta break up the pin or distract from the pin or something. Super Fly tries a run up the ropes spot on Mr. Condor and blows it - that's when we need to be distracted by a replay. Post production makes the world better. Finish is odd; with everyone else out of the ring (Rey Cometa doing a springboard Asai tornillo as past of it), Mr. Condor tosses Super Fly behind him, and Super Fly takes off his mask and sticks it down the back of Mr. Condor's trunks. Tropicasas sees only the mask off and Mr. Condor having it, and that's that. I guess that's playing off the previous match finish (don't know), but these tecnicos shouldn't be cheating to win at this point, I'd think. Rudos are less than happy.

Match 2: Cinthia Moreno, La Diabólica, Martha Villalobos vs Amano, Nagashima, Ozaki
Plaza de Toros, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, 03/04/06

Winner: Rudos (Japan)
Match Time: 7:11
Notes: This is joined in progress, so good luck figuring out who's who. The Japanese side has a wacky police officer and at least one other person around. Ref is Piero.

This match is fine in parts and not so fine in others. Cinthia has the win, pulls up the women's she's facing (still can't be sure who's who) and Diabolica turns on her. Well, she's a rudo. Not much here. Announcers are sure LA DIABOLICA is the big traitor to the sect. I think we all hope the Sect could do a little bit better than that. The match came to a screaming halt after Cinthia was eliminated, and it took a while for me to figure out the match wasn't actually over at that point. The match went on for a new few minutes till Diabolica finally turned on Martha. That was pointless. Diabolica hugged the Japanese women, taunted Martha on the microphone, and helped stomp down both tecnicos post match.

After a break, Diabolica was somehow left all alone with Martha, which allowed Martha to get her revenge in two minutes flat. That was pointless. Cinthia had to be carried to the back - that powerbomb she took was fierce.

Noti AAA
- AAA had a show outdoors in Acapulco. This is the show where Fantasma De La Quebrada was brought into the Sect and they helped him win a mask match
- ongoing feud: Cassandro vs Pimpi,  Cassandro vs Nygma, Apache vs Billy Boy, Zorro vs Electroshock, Electroshock vs Charly Manson, Zorro vs Charly Manson, JJ vs Shocker, Martha vs Diabolica.
- Look, it's people on the TNA set. Jeff won't shut up again. There's also Killings and Joe. It does look weird when Jarrett puts his arm around Joe, yep. Did Konnan call Jarrett "el rato?" That's probably more funny the less I know about it.

Vignette: Cassandro gets his nails down. That makes perfect sense. Getting his nails done at a nail parlor while in his wrestling gear, not so much. Am I supposed to use "his" or "her"? The AP Style Guide doesn't cover this!

Match 3: Cassandro, Nygma, Picudo (c) vs Cuervo (c), Escoria, Ozz
Plaza de Toros, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, 03/04/06

Winner: Dark Family
Match Time: 15:34
Other Match Notes: Where IS Silver Cat? Ref is Copetes. Vatos are tecnicos this week because they're fighting LLL, I guess. This would be Cassandro's return after missing a couple weeks with that dive onto the barricade. Cassandro holds up an LLL shirt (and gives it to the announcers), reminding us of another reason why this doesn't make sense. Cassie's hanging out with the Dark Family before the match too, cheering for Cuervo when he gets announced as captain and such, and making it a point to hug the opponents.

Cassandro and Escoria do mat wrestling for for minutes, and then shake and hug. Vatos Locos are still surprised and angry. They decide to rush 2 on 1, and of course Cassandro is no help. Repeat bit twice for the slow people. Like the Vatos Locos. They actually run this with the Vatos Locos as the rudos doing the beatdown, and the Dark Family taking the one man beating until they can get their big comeback. Big comeback, of course, is Nygma holding Scoria for Cassandro to missile dropkick, and taking the missile dropkick himself. They fight, and Nygma gives his partner a chair shot to the head. Picudo gets gang stomped by the Dark Family in the meantime, Nygma paying no attention. Espiritu walks out, walks thru the ring, and is all shocked that these two teams would be fighting. Don't you hate it when your college friends are buddies with your post-college friends? Dark Family take their time, but finally get to beating up Nygma so he'd stop beating up Cassandro. Espiritu has now walked thru the ring, out the ring, around the ring, and back to the stage. Thanks for coming, dude! Cassandro got busted open here, and Nygma's still beating him/her up most of the time; the Dark Family really is only concerned with Picudo for whatever reason. Laziness, I'd guess. They do pull him up instead of pinning him, and then bring back in Nygma, but I'm sure Cassandro wishes they'd do a better job. Picudo gets his comeback, and then suddenly Cassandro and Nygma both go in the ring, fighting side by side against the Dark Family. Whatever. Cassandro turns on Nygma (for like the fifth time already) and now everyone's taking that's that big turn. Perhaps they forget what "big" means. Can I get a finish? Yes! This match had no business going 15 minutes.

Espiritu shows up again. Maybe he got told what he was supposed to be out there for. He breaks up the fight in the ring and outside of it with Nygma and Cassandro, though tone takes a couple tries. Vatos Locos celebrate losing by posing. Whatever.

Vignette: Alan Stone, at his dad's house. His dad's Bello Greco, and he gets interviewed too. Alan gets angry about something; maybe someone suggested he just take the Moto Cross gimmick.

Match 4: Intocable vs Alan Stone in a chain match
Plaza de Toros, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, 03/04/06

Winner: Intocable (touched all six corners)
Match Time: 12:07
Other Match Notes: Sadly, Intocable doesn't have his hand mirror anymore. Intocable's big shirt taking off entrance is obstructed by smoke. I find that great. Your ref is Tropicasas. Alan punks out Intocable as he's getting the chain on, of course. Oh, wait, the valets have Alan's hand mirror! I was getting worried for a second.

Alan controls it briefly, but Intocable turns it around for a long stretch. The chain comes off Alan's collar, and Tropicasas has to do some quick repair work to get it back attached. Alan turns around the match, hits a top rope splash, and gets five buckles, but Intocable pulls him back before he can get six. Alan has a nice springboard plancha out, but I think it's going to cost him. He does make it back in to touch some buckles, but Intocable is able to trip and pulls him out. Alan goes out after him, and hits him with the wrong side of a chair. Intocable comes back in and gets give, but Alan spears him. Alan gives him with a bad looking faceslam, and also gets cut off short off all six. Alan tries to choke Intocable and drag him around, but only gets to 5. This match is 25% harder in a six sided ring, don't you know. Intocable tries the same choke carry on his back, and gets five, but Shocker's out. Alan actually turns the tide himself, and Shocker's help pretty much fails, with Alan getting kicked low on by Shocker when he was going for Intocable and Shocker whiffing on a chair shot and getting taken out himself. Intocable gets six for the win. (12:07) Girls dig it. Shocker cant' believe it. Alan's mad - is shocker the big turn? Why would the big turn help a AAA guy? I guess it doesn't actually have to make any sense here.

Break replays break.

Vignette: at some point in time, JJ and Super Calo had Shocker kidnapped. Notice the makeup bruising! JJ leaves to do whatever JJ does, and leaves his dudes in charge. Apparently, there's a women in the crew too, and she fails pray to 1000% Guapo. We get a video effect, and then both of them are fixing their pants. Perhaps they just got clean ones out of the dryer. What happened to security dudes? Shocker, never one to love them and leave them, loves her and then KOs her with a right hand. Good lord. Shocker RUNS from the law and to a cab - to steal the cab! He's just a crazy criminal now. I'm sure there's a point to this. I'm so sure.

Match 5: Shocker vs Abismo Negro vs Cibernetico vs La Parka Jr. for seeding
Plaza de Toros, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, 03/04/06

Advancing: Cibernetico & Shocker
Match Time: 3:14
Other Match Notes: Shocker has NO bruising here, one might notice. Well, not the one who's in charge of this, I guess. La Parka has a SWORD. And a suit of armor, but I'd just like to see him use the sword. I don't think that'd get a DQ. Oh, he gave it up. Your ref is Piero. Abismo comes THIS close to dancing with La Parka Jr. For the purpose of this match, it seems like Abismo's a tecnico and Shocker's a rudo, not that it seems to matter.

Ciber and Shocker work together, but do end up turning on each other when it comes to collecting the pin - which really doesn't make a difference, but whatever. La Parka takes the pin himself. The way they're doing it this time, that only eliminated Abismo, not La Parka. Shocker and Ciber get it back together to quickly get a double crab on him, and that should be that. Of course, they tease more. Replay shows Shocker used the ropes on the submission, but let go.

They clip ahead too

Match 6: La Parka Jr. (c), Octagón, Zorro vs Abismo Negro (c), Electroshock, Histeria
Plaza de Toros, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, 03/04/06

Winner: Vipers
Match Time: 5:48
Other Match Notes: Everyone gets their own entrance. Ref is Copetes. Zorro has the Heavyweight Title. Rudo announcers just keeps saying "La Parka is the traitor." Good luck with that one. They hype this as tecnico vs tecnico.

Octagon getting in his sequence, and then shaking Histeria's hand and walking off, is amusing. Abismo and La Parka fight just like Abismo and La Parka would seem normally to fight. Zorro breaks out the cane on Electroshock, which seems not very tecnico on him. Histeria faces Octagon again, and again gets in nothing. bad for him. This leads to a dive sequence, and back to Electro Zorro. Electro gets a inverted figure four, and that's that. So is Zorro the traitor for giving up? I'm thinking no. Electro challenges post match for a title match. Zorro shakes on it - well, eh shakes Abismo's hand anyway. And then he taunts back. I guess it's on - later.

Match 7: Scorpio Jr., Shocker (c), Zumbido vs Cibernetico (c), Espíritu, Muerte Cibernetica
Plaza de Toros, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, 03/04/06

Winner: Sect
Match Time: 6:45
Other Match Notes: Guapos come out together in their Matrix jackets. Zumbido shows off his new belt. Espiritu has a skill on a cross. That's one way to go. Guapos rush him before his partners get out. Cibernetico is no particular hurry. In fact, he just stays on the stage to wait for Muerte Cibernetica, who comes out to Thirller, sorta. Piero is the ref, which would seem to be a bit of a bias. Eh, what can you do.

So the evilest of rudos are beat down to start. Not that way I would've gone. This time, we miss the comeback spot by looking at the announcers. Great. Cibernetico, Muerte and Shocker end up in the crowd for a while, and then he and Scorpio play with chairs. It all ends back in the ring, reset to one on ones. The Zumbido/Espiritu and even Scorpio/Muerte sequences aren't bad. Shocker lands Cibernetico with a DDT and heads up, and the Dark Family shows up. Scorpio and Zumbido cut them off, but what they miss (and what WE miss) is Shocker getting low blowed by Espiritu. Cibernetico chokeslams him off the ropes (sorta), and covers him for the pin.

Alan Stone runs out, too late to be of any help. They show replays and tease a Guapos vs Sect brawl, but nope. Shocker cuts a promo. Hey, they got a replay of the low blow, about time. Announcers wonder about the traitor...

Interview: Cibernetico (taped - not to the live crowd) explains - the traitor will be revealed between now and April 2nd. UH HUH.

That's it.
