AAA - 06/10/06
Interview: Abismo Negro promises angry revenge.
Match 1: Alliens, Drako vs Pimpinela Escarlata, Super Fly
Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo de Puebla, 02/03/06
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 7:32
Notes: Drako is a local guy, I assume. They're spelling it
"Alien's" this week, but I decline. Piero is the ref. One fall match.
Drako sneaks in a chair shot to Pimpi's head to lead to the finish (of the opening match on the show!), Piero awarded the match to the rudos and then changed his mind based on protests, and that makes this everything I hate about AAA. Super Fly looked more super this time, I'll give it that. If you're going to put the new guy over, though, why not just put the new guy over? I don't get it.
Pimpi cuts a heartfelt promo about - something, after the match.
Interview: Cassandro a promo in response - he got hurt on a dive where she landed side first on the barricade, which I guess is why he's no here.
Interivew: Ultraman Jr. talks about - Ultraman and Ultraman Jr. for the most part.
Match 2: Chiva Rayada I, Chiva Rayada II, Ultraman Jr.
(c) vs Angle Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Condor (c)
Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo de Puebla, 02/03/06
Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 17:47
Notes: Ultraman has completely ill-fitting music. THIS is randomly
three falls. Rudos dominated the first two falls, but dumbly pulled off
Ultraman's mask in the second fall. That means they could keep working them over
to third fall - except they kinda just stopped the beatdown without the
comeback. Couldn't get into this match. Dive sequence at the end was okay.
Match 3: Alan Stone, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido vs Cats, JJ Jr., Super Calo
Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo de Puebla, 02/03/06
Winner: Guapos
Match Time: 7:40
Other Match Notes: Joined in progress, just as the tecnicos are doing a
comeback. Scorpios' supposed to be a surprise, but he's got his mask off here
already. I dunno. JJ probably really likes the idea of wrestling, but in no way
appears trained or ready for this. Scorpio has lost all muscle definition since
I last saw him. I wonder who who was supposed to be here instead of Cats. I
figure the idea of having Super Calo here is to protect JJ, but since they're
just doing one on one sequences by the time we pick up, JJ's all alone and
completely exposed. They transition to another Guapos beatdown, focusing on JJ,
who gets killed over and over. Intocable rushes out for the save, or just
to beat up Alan. That's probably a DQ, but we're too busy watching the Guapos
rush off Intocable to see. Cats has to be helped out - he hurt his leg somewhere
here. Hey, a run in IS a DQ this time, what do you know. Replays are really bad
- they expose a ton of non-JJ sloppiness in this match. Cats evidentially just
landed slightly wrong on a tope con giro. It didn't look bad.
Noti AAA
- Antonio Pena put his handprints on some walk of fame. It's a mall.
- Electroshock/Zorro tension recap.
- recap of the match we just watched. I guess this is about Scorpio's jump.
- An old wrestler is honored, and Black Cat is remembered with a moment of applause.
Interview: Electroshock, re: Charly Manson and Zorro.
Interview: Zorro, wearing his Wolverine shirt. He talks about Electro,
but he's far more interested in Alan Stone.
Match 4: Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz vs Electroshock, Intocable, Zorro
Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo de Puebla, 02/03/06
Winner: Dark Family
Match Time: 19:49
Other Match Notes: Zorro is wearing the Heavyweight Championship. This
is one fall. The comeback is the Dark Family going for too many walk the ropes
moves and getting yanked off. That's different. I kinda spent the whole match waiting
for Zorro/Electroshock tension, and it took about 9 minutes to get there, and we
didn't even see what caused it. They were just arguing, and then Electro teased
walking off. Intocable has a dance move where he grabs his own behind. This
show, you know? Electro's an unappealing tecnico here; the tecnico run thru all
the rudos is not so good. He also can't seem to deiced on turning or not
turning; very wishy washy. After being a tecnico for minutes, he pulled Tirantes
when he was counting a Zorro pin around 19 minutes. Intocable tries to play
peacemaker, but he really should turn on Electro for that. Electro storms off,
and the Black Family takes control. Gupos rush out, and attack - the Dark
Family? That sorta makes sense, but then you still have Alan and Intocable in
there. After the Black Family is thrown from the ring and the Guapos are
celebrating, Cibernetico calmly walks in the ring and beats up Intocable and
Zorro. The Guapos do nothing. No decision is evident, but I think they
award the match to the Dark Family.
After a break, Cibernetico talks about the upcoming tecnico defection again. The Guapos watch and point. There's a near standoff on the stage, but the Guapos just end up backing up.
The Guapos must sneak back around the Dark Family and get to the ring for no reason - well, they point at Intocable. And now they hate him? I am so confused. Someone got crossed here, because this set of events makes no sense. And now the Guapos dance.
Match 5: Charly Manson, Chessman (c), Cibernetico,
Fuerza Guerrera vs Abismo Negro, Magnate, La Parka Jr. (c), Octagon
Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo de Puebla, 02/03/06
Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 9:47
Other Match Notes: Abismo Negro limps to the ring on a crutch; he was
fine before. He's the first tecnico out, and the rudos attack him. They destroy
his leg in the ring. They play the wrong must for Octagon at first. Magnate is
Luzbel doing a tecnico Million Dollar Man gimmick. Completely random. He's
listed as a LLL member, which of course makes no sense. La Parka's not so
worried about his partners that he can't dance. Well, he does stop to check on
Abismo, who's been brought back towards the stage and is being attended by
doctors. The rudos beat up Abismo more, and Fuerza eventually beats him to
backstage. Abismo wants go back out, but the officials won't let him - we get
many scenes of this while the beatdown is happening. Suddenly, he's back in the
ring and not really limping (at all) - we don't see him approaching the ring,
just in and and getting his offense on everyone. Then, all the sudden it hurts
again. He did enough to even it out, but he's beaten by Fuerza and Charly to the
stage. The Dark Family shows up to beat him up some more, and take him
backstage again. They really can't make it simple, can they? Chessman makes
Octagon's stuff look good, but the pin doesn't make sense; it looks like Octagon
is giving Chessman a Russian legsweep, but Chessman is the one who makes the
cover after. Unlike the other one fall matches, this is apparently captains
rules. Octagon gives Chessman a low blow on the way out- very sporting of him.
Chessman gets a half crab on Parka cleanly (there's a bad looking clip to
Parka's leg to set it up), and that's that. It felt like the end to a first fall
and not the match. There's 22 minutes left at this point, so either this is
actually a three falls match or there's a bunch of ads and angles to come.
Abismo tries to run out for the save, but Charly and Fuerza are right there and take care of him. Why didn't Fuerza pin Octagon? They did do some of that matchup, but if that's what you're pushing -? The Dark Family re-ran out to beat Abismo again. Abismo gets dragged backstage again. With them and Charly gone, Intocable shows up way late to make a save. Only Fuerza really gets hurt. Intocable tries to throw him thru the ropes a couple times and he just won't go. Odd. He goes out eventually. The sect and Fuerza pose at the entrance like it's the end of the show, and then it's like someone reminds them that they have twenty minutes to kill, so they ought to grab the mic and say something. Ah, Chessman got the pin because he and Ciber want a shot at the National Tags. That makes sense. Rare I get to say that in these recaps. HEY MISTICO SHIRT. In the crowd, but I just miss him. Mistico's better than promos I don't get but understand that they go too long. When they start yelling HEY HEY HEY at each other, it's so exciting. Octagon uses foul language! What a role model for the kids. Now they get the Parka dance session they missed earlier. We still have fifteen minutes left when they're done dancing.
A long break eats a lot of that.
An interview with Magnate? NOW? Que. Perhaps this should've aired before the match, but what do I know. Magnate's big spot is randomly throwing money around.
Lots of replays to kill time, and a music video to boot. They're actually going to do better than the last show, but they have no time management skills. I'm not saying other promotions do, but they sure don't.
