CMLL GdR - 02/25/06 (#14)
In dramatic split screen slow motion, Ultimo Guerrero and Mistico arrive - on the set of Ya Veremos. I assume this is some Canal 52 talk show. (It is.) They're both wearing suits, of course. Mistico isn't wearing the mask with the partial opening but he is talking fine, so I dunno. I think there's some post match talk about the Big Match today.
Dramatic introduction in and around the ring. Jesus has to stand in the background in shots with nothing to do except stand there and stare at the camera. Odd.
As a counter point to Mistico getting ready to wrestle a couple weeks ago, we get this Ultimo Guerrero version. And throughout the show, Mistico and Ultimo talk about their match.
Match 1: Nitro (c), Ohara, Okumura vs Sagrado (c), Texano Jr., Virus
Arena Mexico, 02/17/06
Winner: Tecnico (2-1)
Match Time: 13:53
Approx Rating: Okay. Probably not noteworthy without the middle rope German
Suplex
Other Match Notes: FWIW, the tecnicos are two/thirds of the Mexican
trios champs, but then two thirds of the rudos couldn't challenge for them. No
entrances. Rudos do the Guerrero Huddle celebration - I guess one is enough for
a quorum. Ohara still is a skinny man.
Nitro and Virus to start. Nitro's mask looks different this week - it's kinda cut like a Lizmark Jr. mask. Chain wrestling to start, with Virus faster than I can type. Nitro keep sup, but Virus is out dueling him. Nitro chooses to end it, and we move to Okumura and Texano. Crowd gives him a warm welcome. Okumura works over his right arm and Texano tries to fight free for the first part. Texano gets a headlock and a chinlock, Okumura tries for an armbar on the left arm, and Texano just slips free of everything he tries. Okumura tries chest slaps, but they don't work and he's tossed out. Tags to Sagrado and Ohara. They're okay. Ohara points to his head and tries to celebrate halfway into a submission he doesn't seem to actually pull off. Still, Ohara's mostly in control for the part of their sequence, and Sagrado takes over with snap mares and knees to body parts. Tags and back to Virus and Nitro. off the ropes a bunch, with Nitro taking a backdrop with his feet hitting the ropes. Virus gets tossed to apron, fights back from there, misses a slingshot senton but pulls of a Mexican armdrag to soon after. Nice 'rana to Nitro on the floor too. Sagrado and Texano end up knocking Okumura around - Texano missile dropkick, Sagrado moonsault one two three. (6:04) Texano gets Ohara with a fireman's carry into a facebuster one two three. (6:13) Replays.
Valet Tere tells us to keep watching. Break.
Okumura poses in the corner before taking on Sagrado. Sagrado poses on his own after a crowd shot. Off the rope stuff leads nowhere, and Okumura just chops Sagrado many times instead. Sagrado comes back with chops of his own, but it looks like Okumura might actually be stronger. Of course, he negates that by charging into the corner and Sagrado's elbow and boot two times before finally getting two tilt-a-whirl backbreaker Okumura rolls out, Sagrado teases a dive. Ohara and Texano in. Ohara talking trash and posing. Texano show shim how it's done. Ohara does it another corner, and mocks the boos. Texano poses again. Now they go forehead to forehead. Ohara shoves, Texano shoves back. Chops lead to kicks, and Ohara's not winning any of this. Many kicks to Texano's shoulder gets him hunched over, but he comes back with forearms to the head of his own. Ohara finally gets in an eye rake, lots of slaps to the head, and tells Texano he's number 1 with both hands! Well okay. Ohara off the ropes, and Texano murders him with a clothesline. Ohara rolls to the apron and stops there, so Texano dropkicks him all the way to the floor. Dive tease pose. Virus and Nitro. Beatdown here? Nitro is too busy complaining to everyone. Shoulderblock over, boot to the head, and Ohara's back in to help him. Double team stompdown. Yelling a the crowd. Double whip, double back elbow, Okumura finally in, and he dropkicks Virus out. The rudos go after the other tecnicos - Sagrado's knocked to the floor and Texano's worked over. Corner whip, Texano lands a running clothesline, Okumura lands a running clothesline, Okumura snap mares him and Nitro dropkicks him. Sagrado worked over next. Double corner whip, Ohara running forearm. Nitro and Ohara pick Sagrado up, and then have no idea what to do with him. Language barrier. Finally, they load Sagrado backwards on the top rope, and Okumura goes up behind him? The options I'm thinking are not really options - or maybe not? German Suplex off the middle rope! Sagrado landed directly on his head and shoulder (turning the whole way) and he's pretty well ready to be pinned now. The announcers didn't really react special to that move. Double fujiwara should be enough, but they don't signal it right away. Virus comes in to help and Okumura throws him out. The rudos just let go and I guess the refs signaled by not signaling there (or Sagrado is out of it?) (4:39) One referee, having no idea Sagrado is the captain (I wouldn't have guessed that either!), starts counting out the other people, and then I think is corrected, because he aborts and raises the rudos arms. Multiple replays of the German suplex. Break.
Either the beatdown ended during the commercial break, or they just abort it, because everyone's in the corners as we start, and Okumura quickly runs into a Texano side slam. Texano lands a twisting somersault senton for two before Nitro breaks it up with a dropkick. Chop. Chest slap. Corner whip, reversed, Texano charges in, Nitro moves, and Texano splashes the corner. Maybe he should make a tag to his partners, since they're 2 inches away? Nitro charges in for a kick, but Texan moves. Texano with a drop toe hold, camel clutch, Nitro escapes before he can put it on, tries for his own, and Texano escapes. Texano setting up for a Tapatia, Ohara runs in and sunset flips him, Texano rolls out, Texano, tries to dropkick him in the had, Ohara moves, and Nitro dropkicks Texano in the head. Cover, one two Virus breaks it up, and dropkicks Nitro out. Ohara and Virus exchange strikes. Ohara whip, reversed, Nitro puts his head down too soon, Ohara kicks him up and kicks him down. One tow no. Waving Virus up. off the ropes, clothesline reverse into an armdrag into a ankle lock with legscissors! Ohara manages to turn it enough to get to the ropes. Chest slap. Whip, clothesline misses, Ohara off the ropes, Virus scoops him up for a Tombstone, and throws him forward in a face first powerslam. Sagrado springboard splashes Ohara, Nitro comes in to take Virus but doesn't touch the pin, one two Okumura breaks it up with a dropkick. Okumura takes Virus to the ramp and DDTs him there, as the other two take care of the things in the ring. There's a clip here, so the action doesn't make much sense. for a bit. We come back to see Ohara take a Texano monkey flip to the floor, and Texano get him with a pescado con hilo. Nitro and Virus in, Nitro off the ropes, into a Virus spinebuster, and Virus rolls him over on the mat. Both up, Virus gets a fireman's carry into a side bow and arrow, and that's that. (3:01) We stick with the post match for about 2 seconds.
Match 2: Último Guerrero vs Mistico
Arena Coliseo, 02/19/06

Haven't seen Mistico get hurt, unless it was when Ultimo rudely dropped him of the tapatia. Maybe it was clipped? Rudo fans try a Guerrero chant and get shouted down.
