Nothing going on today.
Accion highlights.
CMLL: the PPV double hair match – Kenzo blowing the superman dive is still great. Kenzo actually causes the pinfalls to start in the third fall too, so it’s ALL HIS FAULT. I’m not sure what move Universo tried to apply on Kenzo – a piledriver he didn’t go up for, a Pedigree with out Kenzo laying out for it? Quite strange. And of course Universo had to cheat to win. That would seem to set up another match between them down the road, but who knows. Maybe I’ll get that title match
AAA: Octagon vs Zumbido for the middleweight title match, from the best of. Did I recap this? I think I did and it wasn’t much special. Assuming Zumbido had to drop the title, Octagon getting this title still doesn’t make sense. They’ve done pretty well with the Alan Stone/Intocable feud, but couldn’t adding a title given them a bit more to do? They’ve done nothing with Octagon being champ. I forget why Electro was here, and I’m sure he does too. Antonio Pena makes a five second cameo and now I can’t stop thinking about how thin he looks.
There’s a thread on Box Y Lucha claiming Konnan’s hip surgery, which was supposed to happen earlier this week, was postponed because the damage was worse than they thought, and they need a new plan. That doesn’t sound good.
Elsewhere on Box Y Lucha, El Hijo del Santo wishes everyone merry Christmas and happy new year.
I did add the second fall to the clips below. It’s not much.
I planned to do stuff on this site tomorrow, but it occurs to me now that there’s probably not going to be a lot of news. Maybe some recaps and some behind the scenes stuff instead.

I didn’t catch Accion, but that Octagon/Zumbido match was not from the same time frame as the Year in Review covered (I didn’t saw it either, I was just waiting to see if they showed the unaired atomicos from Guerra de Titanes). Maybe USA Gala is airing a different Year in Review and when this is over, bot Mx and US Gala will be airing the same shows in the same week?
Seeing Kenzo botch the dive was a beautiful sight!
