11/25-27 Lucha Times

Expecting less posting till Monday, though I will try to sneak in a few things. While you’re waiting for content, go give me feedback. Thanks!

slight off topic: Anyone know what aired on FSE on 11/05? (Should’ve been from the 10/29 taping) I can’t find that info in my notes.

AAA on GALA: Normal Time. We’re due the 10/16 tapings, with Chessman vs Muerte Cibernetico.

CAN52: the system here is the second Arena Mexico match (so another appearance of the Texano/Fabian/Leono trio) and the Coliseo main event (Warrior vs Mistico! how new.)

FSE: The thrid (Foreign Legion vs Bucanero and friends) and fourth (title match) from Coliseo. Maybe I’m a hopeless cynic, but I don’t actually believe it was a 40 minute match; but if it was in the thirties, they certianly could fit on the show as the only thing (or even just one fall of the other match.) The CMLL B-Shows spend so much time on full intros for every wrestler in every match, and a minute and half interviews with each side – if you’re only doing one match on the show, and one with only two wrestlers involved, you could save 7-10 minutes right there. (Or you could save 5-7 minutes in one swoop by just ditching the show long interview.)

While I’m at it…

CMLL on Mexico Galavision: They’ve been going Coliseo segunda and top two Mexico matches, so this seems likely:

11/19 Coliseo: Mini Olimpico & Ultimo Dragonicto vs Pierrothito & Sombrita
11/24 Mexico: Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Heavy Metal vs Damian 666, Halloween, Terrible
11/24 Mexico: Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Universo 2000 vs Kenzo Suzuki, LA Park, Marco Corleone

The Coliseo match could be off because they had six matches on the show.

AAA on Mexico Galavision:

11/13 Plaza de Toros de Irapuato, Guanajuato
1) Aero Star & Marco Rivera b Black Fenix & Toxico
2) Gran Apache, Mini Charly Manson, Polvo de Estrellas, Rossy Moreno b Billy Boy, Fabi Apache, Mascarita Divina, Pimpinela Escarlata
3) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventued Guerrera, Psicosis II b Chessman, Cuervo, Espiritu, Ozz
4) Alan Stone & Zumbido b El Elegido & Intocable [AAA TAG, Block C]
5) el Angel & Laredo Kid b Antifaz & Histeria [AAA TAG, Block C]
6) Scorpio Jr. b Brazo de Plata
7) Gronda II, La Parka Jr., Octagon DQ Elix Skipper, Head Hunter I, Konnan

  1. FSE 11/5 had:
    Alex Koslov/Hombre Sin Nombre/Misterioso II defeated Negro Casas/Mascara Purpura/Trueno
Maximo defeated Emilio Charles Jr. in a Hair vs Hair Match

I’m thinking a 40 minute match = 10 minutes of intros and pre-match bickering, 15 minute match and 15 minutes of post-match challenges. I can’t see those guys doing 40 minutes without more people who attended live making a big deal out of it.

On weeks where they do 6 Coliseo matches, the tercera ends up making regular CMLL TV so the mini’s will be left out in the cold again and the Virus/Hooligan trios match should open things up.

My hunch says Canal 52 gets the 4th and 6th from Arena Coliseo this week while FSE gets the Middleweight Title match and the tercera from Arena Mexico with Volador Jr./Mascara/Panther teaming. They did too much stuff in that match for it NOT to be airing on TV.

AULL will have TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURBO in a match of the year candidate!

The AAA TV show in the U.S. this week is REALLY GOOD! Everyone should check it out if they get a chance.

The AAA TV show in Mexico looks pretty bleh. Depends on how hard the guys work. Chui says it rained which would ruin the show if the guys can’t fly around…

  2. It was Cubs the one who said it was rainning and cold in Irapuato, so it should not be a good draw, and therefore, I think everyone would want to leave as soon as possible, not making it a good show, but one never knows how things turn up to be, there’s a legendary story about El Santo performing before 12 guys in some unknown place and it was surely something those 12 guys never forget…

Yeah, that’s what aired on FSE, I’m sorry the page is not being updated, but know that the format is OK, it should be easier.

FSE has not aired Arena Mexico yet, so I don’t see it happeniing… 6 matches… TVC?

  3. When does the new TVC show start? (I still think it’ll be LLF)

FSE aired some Arena Mexico a while back. I clearly remember a Sagrado/Panther/Mascara vs Eclipse/Averno/Mephisto match that got cut off.

  4. They have not said anything else, and I don’t watch TV as to know if they’re running promos, nothing has popped up in the boards. A while ago some said that promos of TNA had aired, but maybe it was just Tercera Caida’s promo which had images from TNA, since the poster was the usual, “my kid brother told me he saw…” line. TVC denied the new show being TNA.

One thing to add about the Koslov vs Averno match, it is cool if they indeed went at it for 40 minutes, but… they gave this match that came out of nowhere that much while the Dream Match with Bucanero and Ultimo went for 14 minutes???

  5. PANICO! PANICO! PANICO!

I think the deal with Bucanero/Guerrero was that it was an Arena Mexico show and they needed the crowd out by a certain time and still had the long cage match to take place. Even saying that though… I clearly remember Ernesto O’Campo reporting the tercera with Brazo De Oro involved went something like 18/19 minutes!!! If you add in introductions and such, that’s a waste of 30 minutes on the show.

How long did the tag title match go this past week? Take a guess if you haven’t reviewed it yet…

  6. I’m reviewing the first week of Nov right now, well I have it timed anyways, it’s a pretty long week because it has 2 MTY shows (with Latin/Aguayo), 4 AULL matches and 2 FSE, so it is loooooong compared to some weeks when I only have 8 matches from the big shows.

The tag title match was clipped, or at least I think it was, since the reviewer in the ByL forum said that Negro took a powerbomb to the floor, and it was not aired or I missed, I was sort of switching channels with AULL, knowing that I’ll be getting the file to watch when reviewing it… should have gone 20 minutes live… I think it got 30 minutes of Televisa’s time, but that was including the entrance, video of 5ta Estacion, posing with the titles, and the post happenings, Tony (not Schiavone but nearly as obnoxious) announcers joking, etc… so the aired time should be in the 15-18 minute mark.
