11/17 Mexico preview

These posts would’ve been beautifully spaced if the server didn’t go down again. Oh well.

CMLL (FRI) 11/17 Arena Mexico Lineup
1) Bam Bam, Fantasy, Shockercito vs Mini Damian 666, Mini Halloween, Mr. Aguilita
2) Fabian el Gitano, Leono, Texano Jr. vs Arkangel, Loco Max, Sangre Azteca
3) Blue Panther, La Mascara, Volador Jr. vs Olimpico, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero
4) Dos Caras Jr., Rey Bucanero, Shocker vs Kenzo Suzuki, LA Park, Marco Corelone
5) Mistico, Negro Casas vs Averno, Mephisto [CMLL TAG]

They’re going to premire the Quinto Estacion with Mistico (and Heavy Metal!) at Arena Mexico, before the main event, and the group will be there root Mistico on. Univision has a brief article about the teamup. Given the cross over they’re pushing and the Assassins being dominant leading in, I can’t imagine Mistico going down to defeat; I’m flipping my picks and expecting both titles to be retained this weekend. I still think Averno & Mephisto are the next tag team champions, but it may be a while before we get there.

With the potential added audience, I’d think they setup either something for Monday’s show or something to build to a hair match out of that semimain.

LA Park, who turned 41 this past week, told a paper he expects to feel a little nervous, returning to Arena Mexico for the first time in 3 months.

Main event should be really good, because it was on the title switch. There’s a lot of hope for some of the undercard stuff, so this is a promising show. After I post this, I’m gone for the evening, but there may be an early AM post if I stumble onto finding the results and have something to say. I may throw a party if The Assassins win.

11/18-19 lucha times

I actually did the lucha times stuff this week, but it’s on a computer I can not get to at the moment, and won’t get to till after some of the shows air. So let’s wing it.

AAA on Gala
Satuday: 2pm E/P (no split feed)
Sunday: 3am E/P, 2pm E/4pm P (split feed for Vuelta only)

I think the taping is 10/14, though I’m putting this together when my website is DOWN AGAIN and I’m unable to proof this out.

1) Brazo de Plata Jr., Estrellita, Mascarita Divina, Pimpinela vs Apache, Mini Charly Manson, Polvo de Estrellas, Tiffany
2) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventued Guerrera, Psicosis II vs Cuervo, Espiritu, Ozz, Scoria
3) Angel, Elegido, Laredo Kid, Mascara Divina vs Abismo Negro, Antifaz, Charly Manson, Histeria
4) Intocable, Super Porky vs Alan Stone, Scorpio Jr. [bull terrier]
5) Gronda II, La Parka Jr., Zorro vs Abyss, Konnan, Muerte Cibernetica

I hope it’s the 10/14 taping, because, by the looks of it, I never tracked down results.

indy (SUN) 11/19 Arena Coliseo Monterrey Lineup

2) Burrito, Puma de Oro vs Borrico, Angel Negro
3) Galactico, La Calaca vs Androide, Rey Sagitario
4) Black Dragon, Dulce Poly vs Pancho Tequila & La Mistica [mask, hair]
5) Konnan Big vs Head Hunter II [FILL Heavy]

Ovaciones (on Wednesday) had an interview with Blue Demon Jr., talking about the 11/20 CMLL/indy show. He’s looking to get another run in CMLL, either late this year or early ’07. Notimex, picked up a few places, is running a story on the lineup for the 11/20 show, so it’s going to get more attention than a Coliseo show for sure.

Rey Bucanero will defend the CMLL LH title versus Kenzo Suzuki in Puebla on Monday. This is less interesting for a title change (which won’t happen), but as a trial run for a possible hair mask in the near future.

The Gladiatores has edition #20, with results from Tijuana, IWRG, and a Villalobos show.

Magazine Notes

El Halcon #77 is up
– Interview with Shocker. Shocker says some fanc want him to be tecnico, some want him to be rudo, so right now he’s being a tecnico while teaming with Bucanero but will likely did a little of both. He explains that after he joined the Perros, he figured out he wasn’t happy not being the leader of a group he was in, and now that he’s split, he’s hoping to have some hair matches with them. He’s friends with the guys who are now the Guapos in AAA, and thinks they’re fine wrestlers, but figures the Guapos faction can only really exist in the promotion he’s in. Having been to Japan and US indies, he’d like to be in WWE next, but that’s very uncertain. Shocker didn’t like his stint in TNA – outside of the X Division match with Daniels, he felt like he worked hard and didn’t get much out of it. He thought the last iteration of Team Mexico – his teammates weren’t ready for that stage.
– Report from the Bulldog Quintero show in Queretaro.
– Q&A with Stuka Jr. The first Stuka is his brother – there are 10 boys (and 1 girl) in the family. Stuka’s favorite drink? “Beer.”
– the interview with Joaquin Roadin
– Bio of Tartu el Brujo.

Box Y Lucha’s put up a bunch of articles from it’s Huracan Ramirez issue
– There’s a lot about Ramirez Daniel Garcia’s career before he became Huracan, the movie star, a story from someone who was at the funeral, and Rambo’s column is about meeting Huracan.
– To mix it up a bit, there’s career histories of deceased wrestlers Pancho Valentino and Kokina Maximus (Yokozuna).
Rambo has another column, talking about ghosts and undead. Once, a promoter had a great idea to bury La Momia next to the ring, and then unearth him when it came time for his match. They set up a breathing tube – which promptly got trampled by the fans. Someone realized what was up and they dug him out, with the fans never realizing something was up.

Does anyone under the age of 35 purchase Box Y Lucha when Mistico’s not on the cover? Old school fans must love it.

Guerreros del Ring Special #4 is on Atlantis

11/12 IWRG

IWRG (SUN) 11/12 Arena Naucalpan Results [thegladiatores]
1) Shuriken b Intrepid
2) Halcon Salvaje, Kid Tiger b Black Stone, Comando Mega
3) Coco Blanco, Coco Rojo, Coco Verde b Comando Mega, Fantasma de la Opera, Macho II
Coco Rojo faked a foul from Macho II
4) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Texano Jr. b Cyborg, Veneno, Xibalba
Cerebro Negro dropped Cyborg with a piledriver like move, and he got stretchered out, with Xibalba protesting the illegalness of it all. Challenges were made for for a Cerebro Negro/Dr. Cerebro vs Cyborg/Xibalba stakes match.
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Mistico, Texano Jr. b Black Warrior, Marco Corelone, Okumura
Lizmark Jr. no showed. Warrior bumped the ref and yanked Mistico’s mask. Mistico has gotten use to this, and just ignored the mask pull, fouling Warrior and pinning him.

11/14 Coliseo Results

CMLL (TUE) 11/14 Arena Coliseo Results
1) Super Nova & Flash b Polvora & Vaquero
2) Valiente, Sensei, Molotov b Caligula, Messala, Jeque
3) Trueno, Stuka Jr., Tony Rivers b Mr. Mexico, Ramstein, Apocalipsis
4) Satanico, Felino, Sagrado b Emilio Charles, Hijo de Pierroth, Okumura
5) Black Warrior, Averno, Mephisto b Mistico, Negro Casas, Volador Jr.

Main event was direct build up for Friday (which is now Today). I’m a bit worried for THE ASSASSINS, because they’ve won everything up the match. Please don’t let the tag titles die on Mistico & Negro’s shoulders more, thanks.
