Lucha Times

I held off doing this for a day because it seems like FSE has been posting lineup in late in the week. No dice, and they’ve changed their website to ditch the PDF listings they used have. (Of course, in their list of programming, they skip lucha libre. Respect.)

AAA on GALA: First taping of the post-Pena era. The one where Intocable gets put out of action with a martiente.

CAN52: Coliseo’s lineup doesn’t look any good, so this is a good week to get the Arena Mexico segunda (or maybe even the minis match?) And probably OGUN.

FSE: GROON.

luchawiki is down

It’s been down since about this time yesterday. At first, I thought it was just some problem on my side – I hadn’t been able to get to ovaciones website for a few days until today, so I was hoping it was just the computer I’m using. Nope.

The hosting company for that site is vizaweb, and you’ll notice THEIR site is missing too. (“thecubsfan.com” is hosted by a different company, which has had it’s own problems.)

I’m trying to see what I can do, and don’t have any idea of when luchawiki will be back up.

11/09: Blue Demon, IWRG, US

Full Throttle (Coca Cola energy drink) is coming out with a Blue Demon version. The press release is here, and this is my favorite paragraph.

This is a drink designed specifically for men who know the meaning of hard work, and no one captures the essence of this better than the Blue Demon, one of Mexicos first and most enduring lucha libre stars.

Dr. Wagner vs Atlantis has been added as the main event to this Sunday’s Arena Coliseo show.

IWRG (SUN) 11/05 Arena Naucalpan Results
1) Sasaki b Brazo Jr.
2) Ave Fenix, Kid Tiger b Avisman, Comando Mega
3) Astro Boy, Ave Fenix, Simbolo b Camorra, Fantasma de la Opera, Macho II
Astro Boy took Freelance’s place, since he took a martiente from Black Jaguar on Thursday.
4) Cyborg, Okumura, Veneno b Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Fabian el Gitano
Okumuar fouled Fabian and pinned him for the win.
5) Alex Koslov, Kenzo Suzuki, Marco Corleone b Dr. Wagner Jr., Felino, Volador Jr.
Corleone fouled Wagner and pinned him for the win.

There’s supposed to be a big lucha show in Anahiem on 11/18. (So Cal thread, ticketmaster), though they’ve already pulled Negro Casas & Mistico from the lineup. You’ll notice that the website they’re listing at the bottom of the poster, fcwlive.com, just is a poster for a previous show which never actually occurred, so there’s a bit of skepticism here.

Outside of Chicago, there’s a show in Elgin featuring local indy lucha guys. Running at 4 PM on a Sunday is great (if they’re really running at 4 PM.) I’m planning on making this one.
