All you need to know about how serious CMLL is with title belts:
CMLL.com announces a Sunday tournament to find a challenger for Negro Casas’s CMLL Middleweight Title
The problem is this:
Averno, actual CMLL middleweight champion
Maybe there was some title change in Acapulco that’s been kept quiet till now. I’m thinking no.
I guess you can’t totally blame them – according to elsewhere on their website, Negro is still the middleweight champ. Though don’t tell Mistico that Warrior isn’t a CMLL champion.
At least I get a tournament bracket next week. That’s really what we’re here for.

I eagerly await Tony Salazar presenting the belt back to Negro Casas on Sunday via a mysterious match that occured in Rio De Janiero. At the very least if Negro gets his belt back for no reason, Averno and Mephisto should be given the tag team titles back. If Mistico has a problem with that, Salazar can just create the NWA Light Welterweight Title and give it to him to make him happy. If Ohara, the NWA Welterweight Champion is angry with this, the promotion can just give him the CMLL Welterweight Title. If Mephisto takes issue with this, he can be given Faraon’s old NWA International Heavyweight Title that is collecting dust. If Universo has a problem with that…
You know what – Tony Salazar should just give everyone in the company a title during a special ceremony filmed with the ~REFEREE CAM! on next Sunday’s show.
Valiente = CMLL Super Light Welterweight Champion!
