GdR #48, #49, #50

So my goal for Saturday was to catch back up on GdR (and take care of WWE Heat, over in a different universe.) Considering how much time I had, I probably shouldn’t have made it close, but I’m just happy to be back to even. At least on that show.

* 10/21 – the women’s match was fine, and the FdT/tecnico match was good
* 10/28 – Nothing worth watching from this show at all
* 11/04 – This was the opposite – good opener (or at least better than I expected given the crew) and fun Mistico/Warrior main event.

It’s been a tough stretch to get recaps done, but I’m hoping to do another run of AAA episodes this week.

#1 contenders possibly announced

All you need to know about how serious CMLL is with title belts:

CMLL.com announces a Sunday tournament to find a challenger for Negro Casas’s CMLL Middleweight Title

The problem is this:

Averno, actual CMLL middleweight champion

Maybe there was some title change in Acapulco that’s been kept quiet till now. I’m thinking no.

I guess you can’t totally blame them – according to elsewhere on their website, Negro is still the middleweight champ. Though don’t tell Mistico that Warrior isn’t a CMLL champion.

At least I get a tournament bracket next week. That’s really what we’re here for.

Ocampo didn’t have a tournament match timed longer than 5 minutes, and the main event was 6:30. (But the segunda got 15 minutes, so I hope that makes air.) Bucanero was joined by Shocker & Universo to celebrate his title win, which caused the main event rudos to attack, and things transitioned right into that match. Tecnicos won in straight falls, with Kenzo low blowing Universo in the second.

Attendence was noted to be no better than it’s been the last few weeks.

No idea on the Lizmakr Jr. non-injury. Ovaciones isn’t working for me this morning.

Guerreros del Ring has

AAA is the Pena tribute show.
