10/18: AAA, Coliseo

AAA TV (MON) 10/16 Domo de la Feria de Leon Results
1) Alan, Billy Boy, Decnnis b Dralion, Hombre Sin Nombre (AAA), Super Fly
Barrio Boys have gone with a goth look. HsN’s spot was supposed to be a guy named Genesis – maybe he just couldn’t use that name? Super Fly should be X-Fly, but I’m not sure what’s the deal there – maybe he’s trying to conceal his identity so he can also keep working the CMLL D-shows.
2) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera, Psicosis b Barba Roja, Drake, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr.
3) Abismo Negro, Antifaz, Charly Manson, Histeria b Alebrije, Elegido, Laredo Kid, Mascara Divina
4) Chessman b Muerte Cibernetica
Chessman had Charly Manson as his second, Muerte had the Dark Family as his second, which seems illegal. Dark Family attacked Charly, which led to the Vipers backing up Charly and helping Chessman to win. Recap of this match says it’s almost a sure thing that Cibernetico will be back in December – for the Guerrera de Titanes show?
5) Gronda II, La Parka Jr., Octagon, Zorro b Head Hunter I, Head Hunter II, Konnan, Ron Killings
Parka fouled Konnan and got the pin.

Am.com.mx has a local review of the show.

CMLL (TUE) 10/17 Arena Coliseo Results
1) Polvora, Soberano Jr., Vaquero b Espiritu, Karissma, Molotov
2) Sensei, Sombra de Plata, Trueno b Apocalipsis, Ramstein, Zayco
3) Hijo de Pieroth, Hombre Sin Nombre, Hooligan b Metro II, Oro II, Stuka Jr.
4) Blue Panther, Dr. Wagner Jr., Volador Jr. CO Atlantis, Mascara Ano 2000, Olimpico
by account of dives, not walking out or something like that.
5) Dos Caras Jr. b Shocker
german suplex – clean.

Ovaciones says Corelone is in for two months, till 12/15, and may return in last Feburary 2007. Ovaciones doesn’t say it, but I think he’s losing his hair on the year end show.

Ovaciones also says Nitro lost the IWRG Middleweight Championship to Black Pentagon in a cage match sometime this past week. So now we know what title Nitro had – now I just need to figure out when he got it.

Tonight’s the tribute show for Roberto Rangel in Arena Coliseo. It’s techincially being promoted by the CMLL Wrestlers Union, so it’s all CMLL regulars.

Random links I didn’t have time to read much of
* article on Bolivian Women’s Wrestling
* preview of a Zocalo show with Sangre Chicana and Sangre Chicana Jr. vs Mocho Cota & Guerrero Negro Jr., but go just to see the black and white photo. If it was larger, it’d be a future DVDVR cover.
* Sonoma News article (or the first two paragraphs, anyway) about kids making lucha libre masks for an art class. It looks like they might be doing paper macehe, which doesn’t seem like a wise idea.

  1. whats wrong with los barrios they trying to be like La Secta or what?super fly had to be x-fly.i think i see a Vipers reunion as soon as Ciber comes back

  2. Couple weeks ago there was a Relevos Suicidas match at Arena Neza. Misterioso II didn’t show and Nitro took his place, then won Pantera’s belt.

  3. Wasn’t Head Hunter II retired? Or I and II became number I or whatever… The AM report says that Muerte Cibernetica won, results on AAA shows are always hard to get from the press, one reads about them and then finds out when watching them that something entirely different occured.

The Zocalo show seems to be held in an arena of Monclova, there might be some confusion with ‘El Zocalo’, which is the main civic square of the country, at times there are lucha shows or at least matches there, usually for free, and to draw fans to political events.

Barrio Boys have gone some changes, they’re really have been left behind in the current AAA structure, La Secta is HUUUGE with the crowd, save for Muerte Cibernetica, but he and the TNA guys are good draws, Guapos are HUGE with the crowd, Vipers, Fuerza AAAAerea and even Mexican Powers, any group of that gets lots of cheers and or heat, and Barrios have been lost in the shuffle, so they are trying to spark something into their style, I guess this is one of their last chances to get out of the bottom of the card.

If whoever is in charge of AAA now manages to place Barrio Boys as a mid to semimain group, then we can start to believe there is life after Pe
