CMLL (FRI) 08/04 Arena Mexico Results [ova, magazinecmll, ocampo]
1) Tigre Blanco, Tigre Metalico b Artillero, Super Comando
2) Sagrado, Satanico, Virus b Loco Max, Nitro, Okumura
3) Blue Panther, La Mascara, Volador Jr. b Misterioso II, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca
4) Damian 666, Hector Garza, Hijo del Perro Aguayo b Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero
5) Hijo del Santo, Mistico, Negro Casas b Atlantis, Black Warrior, Ultimo Guerrero

Perro snuck in a foul on Rey for the 4th match victory. Post match, Rey challenged Perro to a hair match, and it appeared Perro accepted – but they’ll only hvae a normal singles match next week. (So, neither man will be in the Leyenda de Plata – lineup still TBA.)

Vampiro (and others business backers, I guess) held a press confrence yesterday to announced the formation of a new promotion, Revolucion X Lucha Libre (RXLL). No other wrestlers were offically announced; Extreme Tiger, Teddy Hart, Samoa Joe, and Sean Waltman were mentioned as possiblities but it doesn’t read as if any of them are for sure (and at this point, I’m sure nothing is for sure.) First show was announced for 09/02 in Coliseo Olimpico de la Universidad de Guadalajara, and we’ll know a lot more about how seriously to take this after the card’s been announced and after a show’s been held.

Guerreros del Ring had matches from 07/30 Coliseo
La Nazi, Medusa, Princesa Sujei vs Dark Angel, India Sioux, Sahori
Atlantis, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Mistico, Negro Casas
(we’re back to women + Mistico)

  1. Ovaciones, Alexis’ photos and O’Campo are all reporting the show yesterday was a sellout! I think that’d be the first Arena Mexico show without a big stip match on top to sellout since 1992.

  2. Arena Mex main event was AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWESOME! Electric atmosphere with every seat in the building filled up. Mistico was on fire and hit some spots I haven’t seen him do in ages like a SFTD and a wicked frankensteiner to the floor on Guerrero. He also did a plancha off the top of the stage to start the match. In a year of weak MOTYC’s, this should definitely get some consideration.

  3. A good CMLL match? Who would have thought?

Joe in mexico? I would be shocked if TNA would let him do that.

  4. Why would he threaten the fans with Sean Waltman when building a new promotion? What did the fans ever do to Vampiro to deserve that? Next he’ll be bringing in Mike Sanders and Disco Inferno…
