Quick results

Pantera lost his mask. Misterioso beat him with La Rosa from the top rope. Pantera’s name is Fransico Javier.

Rey won the belt.

Kenzo Suzuki did wrestle, so that situation must be resolved.

More details if/when I see ’em. (In the morning.)

  1. Damn, that’s a shame, 16 years, and he loses it in some random, multiman cage match which will no doubt hardly be remembered :(

Pantera also had an awesome look going this past year or so with the all black outift & mask. If it had been late 90s (ie around the time he was in the WWF) i’d have been delighted at him droping the mask and getting a new look, because as awesome as he was, his outfit and mask made him look like a right clown.

Ah well, i hope he got a small fortune out of it, and he hangs around in CMLL because he’s still one of the best luchadors in the world. As a tecnico, I also hope he doesn’t look like some haggard and wasted old man, though after 22 years, there’s probably more chance of that than a fresh faced youngster!

On the bright side! Neutron~~~. First out, i guess you could say he was technically the winner of a CMLL Arena Mexico big show Main Event :D – That was actually pretty clever with CMLL using Neutron and Nitro to try and put the fans off the scent – and it worked. I only hope he can use this last few months to kinda cement a regular spot at Arena Mex segunda level.

I was also a bit disappointed to say the least to see the other results: that throwaway tercera -20 minutes, Rey V Ultimo for the belt -14 minutes – wtf is that all about! That match should have been Mistico/Averno 2006, but it looks very much like a by-the-numbers new age CMLL match :(

Loks like Rob was thinking along the right lines after all…..

  2. I considered the thought of Pantera losing, but I figured he was too good to lose his mask. CMLL has done nothing with him, and truly wasted him. I’m actually thinking he won’t be sticking around for much longer, especially after his kid was in a car accident.

  3. I can see Pantera sticking to Arena Naucalpan from now on. Maybe doing a feud with Felino there ending in a mask/hair match?

    Rob
