That may be the third or forth time you’ve seen that pic today, but it took me a couple times to notice something great – the belt is upside down!
Not really much going on today. I miss Ovaciones positing the Arena Aficion results on Thursdays. (They’ve got nothing today.) I miss IWRG updating on a regular basis.
In the latest Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer says the original plan for AAA’s Triplemania jump was indeed Rey Bucanero. He got a pay raise and stayed, so they got Brazo de Plata instead.
Also, there’s something more to LA Park being shuffled off the card last week than a double booking, but no one’s quite sure what the deal is. It could be just a attendance issue; that’s what Dave thinks. Bryan Alvarez’s Figure Four Weekly seems to have the same story, but with the rumor LA Park has been banned from CMLL for the time being, which would suggest something more nefarious. The “he refused to lose to Wagner in the title match” theory someone proposed seems like the easiest guess.
To show you how last minute plans for this upcoming Jucio Final were, Dave has the plans being a cage match…featuring six star wrestlers. Park and Wagner are named, so it would’ve been a higher level of guy. In connection with this, Lizmark is mentioned as a guy who’d be willing to lose his mask soon at the right place. Lizmark’s probably soon to retire regardless.
The big pie in the face for AAA, as mentioned in the Observer preview, is a news show exposing the Cibernetico/wealthy boxer as an angle. (Gasp!) Actually, the pie in the face may actually be Cibernetico and Pena pretending it’s really real for real in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
El Hijo Del Santo and Super Kendo are scheduled to work shows at the Orange County (California) Fair on 07/22 and 07/23.
Luchas 2000 Special #11 focuses on in-ring tragedies (front cover, back cover.)
AAA Arena Coliseo Monterrey TV, which has apparently been off for a while, is supposed to be back on July 30th. The rudopolis guys (who’ve updated!) may know better than I.
(BTW, the name for Mini Damian is great.)
Lucha Times is updated, by the way. No need for a seperate post, because GdR is easy to pick, Galavision is impossible to pick, and there’s nothing funky with the times. (No double LdV this week – one time thing, maybe.)
