05/22-05/28 lineups

News is going to be a bit late, but I can post the lineups now

Lineup notes
– perputual CMLL undercards Ramstein and Explosivio meant in Mexico State on Sunday in a mask vs mask match. (I take Ramstein.) Also on that card, Ultimo and Rey challenge for the tag titles – for the last time ever? (probably not.)
– Mima Shimoda is booked on the tecnica side this week
– Olimpico is still listed as wrestling (mostly teaming with Tarzan) around the country this week – I’ve omitted him because his leg is in a cast and and all
– Sangre Azteca is listed on cards this Sunday (in a non title MEX TRIOS rematch), which is odd, because he should be in Japan by then. I think he’s still going to Japan, but if I was NJPW, I’d make a phone call to make sure everything is still on.
– Arena Coliseo Sunday has six matches booked at the start of the week, a rariety.
– no AAA TV tapings this week!

05/21 news: Accion

Accion notes:

CMLL: Main event trios. Baby Richard got involved with the Park/Wagner confrontation at the end, accidently (?) holding Wagner down while Park went for a splash – Wagner moves, Richard bought it, Park got in the low blow.

AAA: LA Parka, Octagon vs Alan Stone, Charly Manson for MEX TAG in Leon. Looks like Alan and Charly were disagreeable tag team partners, as Charly low blowed La Parka II but Alan pushed him out of the way for the pin. Clips show Octagon rolled up Manson, and then the escalera on Alan for the win.

Everything else waits till I wake up. Unless you need the big news about IWRG’s Black Stone turning rudo.

GdR #26

From 05/20/06

Opener was a complete mess – I guess I really should’ve expected that, because looking at the names, they didn’t really include anyone to hold it together. I think Muto had fun. Can anyone explain the end of the first fall?

Mistico sold his knee injury awesomely in the main event, it had to be a real injury he aggravated earlier in the day. (Or he’s gotten amazing at it.) Still, they worked off it perfectly. Not the high flying Mistico match you may be looking for, but I enjoyed it.

Gala, local notes

Some mysterious person who didn’t leave a name did post this weekend’s Galavision’s lineup – it was indeed three hours of AAA, and last year’s AAA at that.

Congress Theatre‘s website lists a June 4th show (no start time listed) with Lizmark, Emilio Charles Jr., Canek, Satanico. (Note the odd tecnico/rudo listings – this’d be some real news if Lizmark was a rudo. Also, you must be this old to get a match.) I am SO going. Tickets are listed as free if you fill out a form, but I hate filling out forms. June 4th is a Sunday, so I’d guess a June 3rd Los Lamas show, but nothing’s offical till they say it is.

Going to the SHIMMER show tommorow as long as nothing goes wrong and I can find my way there.

CMLL (MON) 05/22 Arena Puebla Lineup

2) Asturiano, Blue Center, Iron vs Furia Chicana, Fuerza Chicana, Fuerza Tiger
3) Maximo, Volador Jr., Batman vs Nitro, Blade, Skandalo
4) Mistico, Negro Casas, La Mascara vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila, Terrible
5) Dr. Wagner vs Ultimo Guerrero [UWA Heavy]

Ovaciones main story is “LA Park sure is a rudo now, what with him teaming up with those evil Italians.”

Because they can, Dr. Wagner & Mistico vs Ultimo Guerrero & Atlantis has been added to Sunday’s Arena Coliseo show. I think that one just might make TV.

Olimpico’s out two months due to a fractured fibula. I’m no doctor, but I’m thinking all that extra fruit and vegatable weight he’s put on probably didn’t help. He’ll be out two months healing and one month rehabbing. This will sadly not be the summer of Olimpico.

Ovaciones praises IWRG’s Ave Fenix and Rock Star.

The Portland Tribune has an article about a wrestling show at a bar which has added a lucha libre match.

Kansas City Star goes behind the scenes of “Wrestling Women vs. the Brainiac”, with Mil Mascaras.

Typically, I was searching for something else and stumbled upon a inteview with La Mascara from late March.
