2) Sensei, Stuka Jr., Trueno b Artillero, Flecha, Super Comando

Mascara, who’s working despite his injury, filled in for Tarzan Boy.
5) Black Warrior, Dr. Wagner Jr., Último Dragón DQ Chuck Palumbo, Johnny Stamboli, Pierroth
Palumbo piledrived Ultimo in the third fall. Yes, this feud indeed must go on!

Palumbo and Stamboli were only in for the weekend, but the way they were used, I kinda figure they’ll be back next time they run a Toryumon Mexico show.

NASCAR’s Busch race in Mexico City this past weekend was disdainfully refered to as lucha libre on wheels, for some rudo driving tactics, by a writer from NOTIMEX (Mexico AP, so it shows up all over.)

Lineup higlights:
– AAA has Rey de Reyes on 03/10. The main event – with guest appearances by TNA’s Samoa Joe and Ron Killings (who teams with Konnan which goes counter to their TNA stuff but whatever) is a four way trios match and I guess whoever ends up with the winning pinfall wins the crown, not that it matters much. Haven’t heard who the traitor was from the last taping yet, but note the Box Y Lucha version of the card has Electro Shock on the rudo side AND Zorro taking Alan Stone’s place versus Intocable. (I should’ve watched Accion! duh.)
– In intersting singles matchees, Suicida faces Cerebro Negro on Thursday’s IWRG card, and Dos Caras Jr. and Ultimo Guerrero rematch from last year’s series, this time in Guadalajara.
– Looks like we’ll get Wagner/Mistico vs Perro/Garza on GdR in two weeks
– CHRIS HERO VS BATMAN! The World’s Finest Segunda On This Week’s Tuesday Pachuca Show. Dr. Wagner’s partner on that show is actually listed as “Hermano de Dr. Wagner”, and I’ll just assume it’s not one we haven’t seen in the ring before. THAT’d be news.

03/05: TV Notes

In case you’re wondering how the upcoming cards reflect Black Warrior’s rudo team much quicker than these things usually happen, Juan Manuel Mar explained the situation to Ovaciones. As soon the show ended, CMLL talked to Warrior, who confirmed he wanted to be a rudo with the goal of joining GdA (good luck on that), and so they immediatly changed upcoming cards.

Ovaciones has another article of previews, but those shows are over by now!

Saturday’s GALA was a bit odd – it was the scheduled episode, but instead of airing the opening women’s trios, they aired the main event twice. Doesn’t make any sense to me.

GdR had:
02/26 Arena Coliseo: Dr. X, Nitro, Sangre Azteca b Brazo de Oro Trueno, Metro, Rey Tigre
02/26 Arena Coliseo: Blue Panther, Mistico, Último Dragón b Atlantis, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000
Outside the ring: Olimpico
and a series of skits featuring Monito, Mistico and Magadan.

03/04 news: Arena Mexico results

CMLL (FRI) 03/03 Arena Mexico Results [ova]
1) Bam Bam, Shockercito vs Fire, Sombrita
2) Máximo, Pantera, Texano Jr. vs Dr. X, Loco Max, Nitro
3) Atlantis, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 DQ Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Héctor Garza
4) Dos Caras Jr., Lizmark Jr., Último Dragón DQ Chuck Palumbo, Johnny Stamboli, Último Guerrero
5) Averno, Mephisto b Black Warrior, Mistico [CMLL TAG]

Warrior tore Mistico’s mask to shred post matches and had to be dragged away by security.

In the big buildup to the hair match in two weeks, next week’s Arena Mexico sees Perro in the main event – and Universo in third math. Huh. They do move Warrior over to the rudo side quickly in a reshuffling of the tag chase – he teams with Averno & Mephisto versus Mistico, Negro and Metal.

Black Warrior turns on Mistico

This makes tommorow’s Toryumon show a little less odd.

Prelim reports say Mistico accidently got Black Warrior on a dive, champs pinned Warrior, Mistico managed to beat Averno (imagine that!), but Warrior kicked Mistico, helping Mephisto beat him and retain the titles.

Sounds like the FBI in Arena Mexico was quite exactly like you’d picture the FBI in Arena Mexico.

03/03 News: Arena Mexico preview

CMLL (FRI) 03/03 Arena Mexico Lineup

1) Bam Bam, Shockercito vs Fire, Sombrita

2) Máximo, Pantera, Texano Jr. vs Dr. X, Loco Max, Nitro

3) Atlantis, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 vs Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Héctor Garza

4) Dos Caras Jr., Lizmark Jr., Último Dragón vs Chuck Palumbo, Johnny Stamboli, Último Guerrero

5) Black Warrior, Mistico vs Averno, Mephisto [CMLL TAG]

I expect no title change and strong tease of a turn, to be dragged for a while.

CMLL did hold the press confrence for Perro vs Univeros yesterday, and I assume it’ll air on Televisa this week. Perro said Universo was a great professional, but he’ll get revenge for his father. Universo was happy to see Perro fired up, and said the public would see Perro shaved. Perro said he’d win in two falls. Universo said he could win in one fall, because he’d just send Perro to the hospital. If they went two, Perro might have to retire. Tickets go on sale 03/13 (next Monday – so really not in advance.)

Octagon met with the press in Merida, Yucatan today, to hype an AAA/AROJNA show there this Sunday and assure the people that the AAA wrestlers would be much better behaved towards the public and the officials than LA Park was before he got suspended. (Apparently, Park wasn’t just swearing, he was swearing at the Box Y Lucha commissioner. Oops.)

indy (SAT) 03/04 Cabercera Municipal Lineup [box y lucha]
1) Caudillo, Ave Nocturna, Osiris vs As de Oros, Huizar, Venom
2) Justiciero Jr., Yakuza, Kid Tiger vs Black Jaguar, Black Spider, Storm

4) Maximo, Tony Rivera, Rey De Corazones vs Magnifico, Negro Navarro, Black Terry

This is actually sorta a political rally, because tickets are free and it’s being sponsored by the campaign to elect David Sanchez for Municipal President of Coacalco.

In Mexico City on Saturday, at the Galeria Jose Maria Velasco, they’ll be a exhibition of lucha libre masks, photographs, movies, comic book and other sorts of things.
