Recaps of upcoming CMLL shows (a list)

Maybe this only makes MY life easier, but – I’m not really getting anything useful done today for numerous reasons, so here’s something semi-useful done.

I’d like to find a way to integrate match/show comments into the wiki (with them clearly being designated as opinions) but I haven’t spend much time thinking about it.

offtopic: We’re having a minor problem with wikispam (usual p*ker/dr*gs stuff; it happens here too, but there’s no change log for people to notice.) I think I might figure out the way to require an e-mail address when you sign up for the luchaWiki, but that shouldn’t affect most of you.

vs

Tonight’s the night. There’s other matches on the card, and there are other singles matches for Perro this weekend (he’s got Mistico on Sunday in Coliseo, and CMLL.com wonders what he’ll have left for that match).

Cien and Perro Senior are only rumored to make appearances at this point, but I’d expect them to make appearances. This could be a really good match, and I don’t have any issue at all with them getting involved, because they’re already well entranched in this storyline.

I think the perfect resolution is for Perro to get a ref-missed the revenge Black Hammer on Universo (Universo “ended Perro’s Sr.’s career by giving him a Black Hammer and breaking his neck (in his retirement mathch”, for those joining four years late) and get the win. It has the side benefit of Universo once again being able to claim he wasn’t cleanly beat, but I don’t know if they’d resolve things so easily.

I will try to post results tonight, but if you look for ’em, you’ll probably see them before I do.

Mixed sports reference: If no one on the Arena Mexico show references Mexico beating the US last night with a shirt or a hat or something, it’ll be quite the 15-2 upset. (No one wearing a Mexico futbol jersey during the World Cup this summer is a 16-1.)

Rudopolis – news and reviews from shows in Mexico. They’re just starting, but there’s a lot of good stuff here.
http://spaces.msn.com/promocioneshego MSN Blog for the Hego Promotion in Tijuana, affilated with AAA
http://spaces.msn.com/superlibre/ MSN Blog for the Reyes (yes, them) Promotion at Arena Coliseo Acapulco – one of the bigger CMLL stops which doesn’t get it’s lineups in/to Box Y Lucha for whatever reason. Speaking of, they have a wildly divergent lineup for this week’s show than posted elsewhere.

On the DVDVR board, nuclear jackalope is planning a week long Mexico tour around the CMLL Anniversary show. Check the links for detail.

Ovaciones continues it’s week long run of Perro vs Universo updates. I believe they said Friday’s show sold out by Tuesday (tickets went on sale Monday.) Today, Universo explains he’s not stepping up his game for the hair match, because he’s always fighting at his peak level. Winning Perro’s hair will prove the Capos are the greatest in CMLL.

Speaking of hair matches, Suicida and Dr. Cerebro talk about their match today. Dr. Cerebro says Suicida is a very dangerous wrestler. Suicida says he’s sure Dr. Cerebro will have an illegal weapon of some and wish Dr. Cerebro would fight legit for once.

Short notes things

– I did some purning/cleaning on the CMLL and AAA rosters, and I’m even putting a picture of Hombre Sin Nombre as Hombre Sin Nombre. Let me know if you find any goof ups.

– the arena/event stuff hasn’t updated for about three weeks, but no one’s noticed so I’m not worried about it. I’m sure I saved over something I shouldn’t.

– I’m back on the F4Daily show on April 5th. We’ll talk about – uh, I’m not quite sure yet. Whatever happens in lucha between now and then. Perhaps we’ll rank pirates in pro-wrestling.

– Updates may be off till Monday. I will try to post Perro/Universo results late Friday if I see ’em and I’ll try to do updates, but I may have overbooked myself. There may or may not be a luchawiki update this week, but there’s been plenty of title histories added.

– You’ll notice there’s a more Jan, Feb and March ’05 results listed now; I’m slowly working my way thru the year one more time with another massive list of results, with the idea of closing down 2005 one more time before moving on to something else.

I still think the next project is integrating TV episodes, but that requires a lot of planning and thinking to do well. It’s a more satifsying to get a big part of my project done, but it’s a lot easier and more tangible to do the relatively thought-less data entry/data mining stuff. Which is why there’s title histories and more results for (let’s face it) a lot of irrelevant (and some relevant) shows instead of more useful features. I’ll get to it when I get to it, which is usually when I’m just in the right mood.

I’m just rambling about stuff that I only I care about now, so I’ll stop.

Next post here is the 1000th, and this is probably the only notice of it.

CMLL #187

From 09/10/05.

Missable show; it’s noteworthy because Perro announced the formation of PdM (but it doens’t actually form this week) and the angle setting up La Mascara as a challenger for Dr. X (but the title match doesn’t happen for many weeeks.)

Lucha Times

Saturday: An hour (or more) late this week. Robert liked parts of the two middle matches and not much of the other two.

(Robert and Ryan need to get bored and make a quick convinent list of links to their recaps to make my life easier. And than I shall be king.)

Sunday: Atlantis vs Dr. Wagner announce their mask mach one more time. I didn’t think this show was much good.

GdR: The US schedule appears to be now
Saturday: 4-5p AND 10-11p ET
Sunday: 11:30am-12:30p ET

Pretty nice sounding tag match (Wagner/Mistico vs Garza/Perro) to build to the Perro/Mistico match this Sunday. Busy week for Perro.

Should have one more post in me tonight.
