Not much news today. Ovaciones still thinks Samoa Joe will be in Mexico today, and I guess I’m going to have to go to Chicago Ridge to find the Truth! (who probably will be in Mexico, so good luck finding him.)

recapper unhappily noted some fans were throwing objects at the rudos, including eggs and “heads and legs of chicken”. I guess I’m not supposed to find that hilarious, but I can’t help it. Some of those fans were thrown out.

Did I link the Onion “Illegal Mexican Wrestlers” article this week? Some parts are far less parody than the writer may believe. Call me crazy, but the first picture, labeled Rey Misterio, sure looks like Tarzan Boy booting Dos Caras Jr. I guess you could tell better if Dos was standing up. It may still be too soon for that last paragraph.
Rudopolis has a news update and show reports from this past week.
There’s an update about the Chicago lucha shows in April.
Not quite as local (to me), IWR‘s been running some bizzaro lineups; combinations of US indy talent and Mexico lucha stars. Their next show, 05/06, are scheduled to have Ultimo, Rey, Wagner and LA Park. Road trip, anyone? It’s only a 6 hour trip! (Thanks to mikeinformer for the reminders.)

When did this guy write the article? Last year? Juventud’s not there anymore and Bossman is dead. Gotta love the pic of the guys flying over the fence, though, that’s awesome!
I don’t think the Onion strives for accuracy.
As long as La Copa Junior is a Cibernetico, this weeks Arena Mex card looks pretty great actually. Would probably be one of the best looking cards on paper in ages if those damn women were replaced by the usual Segunda guys ie. Volador/La Pandilla etc. Opener will no doubt be awesome, especially seeing these matches are sometimes given 20minutes or so whilst the upper card is shorter. Main should be great – Black warrior has looked great as of late from official site clips.
I really hope he’s pushed strongly as a top heel after the way they’ve messed him around the past 5 years or so. But it’s a shame they’re going down the road of shorter matches as this one would have potential given time.
If you could foresee what the cards were going to be, this would be the one week of the year i would have loved to go to Mexico to see Lucha. Tonights Arena Mex (with Neutron~), on Sunday I’d be be spoiled for choice and have a tough decision between the Coliseo with Stuka/Flecha, Universo/Perro, or Coliseo GDL with Neutron in a mask match, Tuesday Coliseo shows are always fun looking with stacked undercards, and last Mondays Arena Puebla looked awesome.
Still gutted that GDL TV has stopped airing and my boy Neutron has been on what would have beenTelveised matches almost every week though.Typical. Damn them :(
