03/04 news: Arena Mexico results

CMLL (FRI) 03/03 Arena Mexico Results [ova]
1) Bam Bam, Shockercito vs Fire, Sombrita
2) Máximo, Pantera, Texano Jr. vs Dr. X, Loco Max, Nitro
3) Atlantis, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 DQ Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Héctor Garza
4) Dos Caras Jr., Lizmark Jr., Último Dragón DQ Chuck Palumbo, Johnny Stamboli, Último Guerrero
5) Averno, Mephisto b Black Warrior, Mistico [CMLL TAG]

Warrior tore Mistico’s mask to shred post matches and had to be dragged away by security.

In the big buildup to the hair match in two weeks, next week’s Arena Mexico sees Perro in the main event – and Universo in third math. Huh. They do move Warrior over to the rudo side quickly in a reshuffling of the tag chase – he teams with Averno & Mephisto versus Mistico, Negro and Metal.

  1. I thought MA2000 was supposed to be out with a dislocated shoulder or something?

I’m glad Black Warriors turned, as he’s always been a better rudo – and he will be again. All we need now is Wagner and panther to follow him :D

Some decent looking CMLL cards next week. Arena Mex looks like a great show, outwith the tercera, and the main looks tremendous – if only Mr Aguila replaced Dasmian though….

And the best tihng, even though we’ll never see it, is NEUTRON~ is back in Arena Mexico! I only hope he’s never booked on Sunday Coliseo shows! He needs to be in Guadalajara on that day :)

  2. Does Perrito/Universo really need any more build?

I’m more of a fan of this way than WWE style where a PPV program is decided on and for the next 4-5 weeks you know for sure the guys feuding with always be opposite each other or interfereing in each others matches. Used to be better when they’d have limited interaction and save the big meeting for a PPV.

  3. The tag title match was pretty disapointing. The first two falls went about 2 minutes total whistle-to-whistle. Third fall was fun and HOLY SHIT you have to hear the pop when Mistico fights back to pin Averno. The turn was well done and led to another HOLY SHIT moment as Mistico did his tornillo plancha, Averno moved and Warrior got nailed with it as was LAYING on the ground! That’s pretty dangerous. Warrior cut a 100% tecnico promo after the match.

The FBI were pretty good. In fact I liked the FBI match more than the tag title match.

  4. Was it just the top 3 matches Rob, or did we get either the Segunda, or (hopefully) last Tuesdays tercera?

  5. You have the main event result as Warrior & Mistico over Averno and Mephisto for the titles. Is that a misprint?
