For the wiki this week, I’m mining the datatbase for a list of hair/mask matches which I’ve noted and may or may not be included in the wiki profiles. I’ve broken it down to major matches I’m sure of, ones I’m not sure who gets credit for the win because it’s a multi-person match (and I just need to check my notes on those) and those I have no idea at all about. None of this has yet been added ot the wiki, so if you’ve got corrections, let me know.

– an Arena Mexico preview, with the angle of three groups battle for control of CMLL: tecnicos, GdA/Capos lead rudos, and Perros.
– brief hype for the Mexico vs Japan Reina de Reinas match at the next AAA taping. Sides have been changed to Martha Villalobos, La Diabolica, Cinthia Moreno, Miss Janeth vs Mayumi Osaki, Chikayo Nagashima, Carlos Amano, and Dynamite Kansa. I’m sure those names are wrong, but I dunno.
– a couple more details on Arena Aficion.
Things I’ve neglected to get to this week:
* There’s supposed to a FMLL lucha show at Congress tonight, with Mil Mascara headlining. I haven’t heard anything about it since it was announced, and Congress doesn’t have anything listed about it on it’s website, so I don’t have any idea. I wasn’t planning on going, and I’d suggest those interested to call in advance and find out if it’s still on.
* PBS cooking show “Mexico – One Plate At A Time” had a great lucha libre themed show this past week, with footage outside Arena Coliseo and action inside Arena Naucalpan. Of course, I didn’t get to watching it till last night, and it’s not reruning any more times this week, but you may want to keep your eye out for it on again, or you could visit their website to buy the DVD. Thanks to odessa for pointing this out in the first place.
* There’s a lucha/boxing show on Azteca America that was mentioned on Wrestling Observer this website. It airs 10pm EST on Saturdays, run 2 hours and it’s going to be sometimes boxing and sometimes lucha – this week is supposed to be boxing. I don’t know what promotion would be airing, and I’m not sure if I get the channel myself, but I’ll try and check this weekend.
* One of the ideas that came out of the awards was to do some sort of running 2006 Best Matches list to keep track of them thru the year. Instead of doing them on this blog, that sounds like a perfect thing for the wiki – anyone could add the matches as the year goes on and it could be updated whenever someone wants. Anyone want to start this?
